Bejeweled 2 Cheats
Want to make your next game of Bejeweled 2 even more fun? Popcap Games is known for including cheats and cheat codes in their games and Bejeweled 2 is no different. We’ve put together a collection of Bejeweled 2 Cheats you can use to add a little more spice to your gameplay.

It should be noted that each some of the cheat codes can be enacted at any time while others require the player to reach a predefined level to gain access. Also, some cheats are triggered by typing on the keyboard. Such cheats are NOT case sensitive and can be typed at any time during gameplay.

Combining cheat codes is possible and can be seen in some of the screenshots below. To do this, just use the codes simultaneously.

Original Mode

Bejeweled 2 Original Mode Cheat Code

Original Mode is the same as the original Bejeweled and can be thought of as Bejeweled 2 Classic Mode with no Power Gems and no Hyper Cubes.

To enter Original Mode, guide your cursor in a clockwise circle across the four mode select options on the menu screen (Classic, Action, Endless and Puzzle – in that order).

You actually have to approximate a circle shape with your cursor. It may take a few passes to get this mode cheat to trigger, but have patience, it does work. Keep trying until it works.

Special Effects

Special effects don’t change gameplay, they just alter the way it looks and feels. To enact the special effects cheats listed below, punch them in via your keyboard at anytime during game play (not when you are on a menu screen) and you’ll see the effects.

To turn the effects off, either punch them again of type in ’normal’. It should be noted that each of these cheat codes automatically turns off at the end of gameplay and must be reactivated in all ensuing games.

Classic Gems Cheat Code: oldskool

Bejeweled 2 Classic Gems Cheat Code

This cheat code (oldskool) swaps out the gems with the ones used in the original Bejeweled/Diamond Mine game. If you’ve never played the original game, this is a must use code. It will give you an interesting perspective on how far Bejeweled has come.

No Frames Cheat Code: noframes

Bejeweled 2 noframes Cheat Code

This cheat code (noframes) allows the player to toggle the borders around the gameplay area and the scoring sidebar…kind of a minimalist view.

Christmas Cheat Code: xmas

Bejeweled 2 xmas Cheat Code

This cheat code (xmas) switches the rugged planet background to an ice planet & adds softly falling snow. Really, the code is more of a barren winter code than a Christmas code, but whatever.

Outer Space Cheat Code: starfield

Bejeweled 2 starfield Cheat Code

This cheat code (starfield) changes the background to outer space and moves it from right to left.

Matrix Cheat Code: network

Bejeweled 2 network Cheat Code

This cheat code (network) changes the background to a Matrix style background.

Miscellaneous Graphic Cheat Codes

Each of the following cheats lets you alter the look and feel of the game by altering the gem colors pallete.

Black and White Cheat Code: blackandwhite

Bejeweled 2 blackandwhite Cheat Code

This cheat code (blackandwhite) causes all gems to lose their color and take on various shades of black and white. Use this cheat with caution as it is very difficult to discern matches when all the jewels are shades of gray. Notice in the image above the background shows I have already implemented the ’xmax’ cheat code.

Green Screen Cheat Code: greenscreen

Bejeweled 2 greenscreen Cheat Code

Similar to the blackandwhite cheat code, this code (greenscreen) changes all gems to varying shades of green. Again, use this cheat with caution as making matches becomes very difficult.

Amber Screen Cheat Code: amberscreen

Bejeweled 2 amberscreen Cheat Code

This cheat code (amberscreen) causes all gems take on an amber hue. Use this cheat with caution as it is very difficult to discern matches when all the gems are ’amberized’.

Colorswapping Cheat Code: colorswap

Bejeweled 2 colorswap Cheat Code

This cheat code (colorswap) results in all gem colors being swapped for a new color. The gem positions don’t change, but you get a new set of colors.

Motion Based Cheat Codes

The following cheat codes actually add a new dynamic to the look of your game. Of course, since it is a motion based effect, there is no way to show you the effect with a screenshot.

Seasick Cheat Code: nausea

This cheat code (nausea) adds a wavelike motion to whatever background you have selected.

Slow Motion Cheat Code: slomo

This cheat code (slomo) slows the game down so things are a bit easier to follow. However, once you are familiar with the game, there isn’t much need for this code.

Unlockable Modes

The following modes can only be unlocked by successfully playing the game to the required levels. Once you’ve achieved those levels you’ll be able to enter these modes.

Cognito Mode

To unlock Cognito Mode, you have to beat every level in Puzzle Mode. Contigo Mode is an interesting cross between Puzzle Mode and Classic Mode.

Finity Mode

To unlock Finity Mode, you have to read level 280 in Endless Mode. Finity Mode features a timer bar, but power gems, rocks and timebombs can drop in from the top of the board as well as normal gems! Furthermore, single matches score zero points. The only way to get points is to cause chain reactions.

Hyper Mode

To unlock Hyper Mode, you have to reach level 9 in Action Mode. Hyper Mode is 4x faster than Action Mode with a slower timer, but otherwise the same.

Twilight Mode

To unlock Twilight Mode, you have to reach level 18 in Classic Mode. Twilight Mode is the same as Classic Mode except “gravity” alternates between up and down with each gem swap.

Notes on Bejeweled Cheat Codes

With enough experimenting you’re bound to make some interesting discoveries regarding Bejeweled cheat codes. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to list a few of the discoveries we’ve made to help you out:

  • If you need help with your Bejeweled gameplay, take a look at our Bejeweled 2 Strategy Guide
  • Interestingly, once you have entered xmas mode, you cannot back out of it by punching in ’xmas’ again. Moreover, typing ’normal’ doesn’t work either. To exit xmas mode, you need to first enter one of the altered display cheat codes (greenscreen, amberscreen, blackandwhite) and then use the ’normal’ cheat code to reset your Bejeweled board.
  • If you use the ’greenscreen’ or the ’amberscreen’ cheat code more than once consecutively, the screen will get darker and darker until you cannot see any of the gems.
  • After 2,200 hours of gameplay over a 3 year period, Mike Leyde set a Bejeweled World Record of 2,147,483,647, exceeding maximum allowed score by the game.
  • There are reports that Finite Mode and Twilight Mode can be unlocked with a cheat of their own. However, we have yet to see these claims proven.

We hope you enjoy tweaking your Bejeweled 2 gameplay with these cheats. Have fun!
