Have you ever heard of a sizzle reel? In the gaming industry, a "sizzle reel" is something very similar to a game trailer. However, the sizzle reel typically shows a bit more of the actual game play and less marketing footage - although, I guess it’s all marketing footage when you think about it... The studio who creates the sizzle reel wants to release footage that helps bridge the gap between what the game is about and how the game plays. In addition, interesting content such as story boards or concept art is often included to ’spice things up’ a bit. Sizzle reels, of course, are meant to help build buzz and get fans even more excited about the upcoming game release.
