Games to Play While Waiting for Plants vs Zombies 2…
I have to admit: I am looking forward to the sequel of Plants vs Zombies, “Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s about time”.
The first one came out all the way back in 2009, (seems like ages ago!), and was nominated with two titles from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences: “Casual Game of the Year” and “Outstanding Achievement in Game Design”.
Which is totally understandable with the great graphics and audio side that was invested into the game.
The game also got some good reception, and according to Game Director George Fan it’s estimated that half of the Plants vs Zombies players come from the hardcore gamers (might have something to do with the gnarly-looking unintelligent zombies).
I was definitely among them (the hardcore gamers that is), and the game opened up the world of more casual games for me.
So while waiting for Plants vs Zombies 2 I thought I wanted to share here on the Big Fish blog 2 other games that definitely has helped kill the time -and less zombies- for me so far.
#1 Fairway Solitaire, no zombies, but there is a gopher in the grass
This game is an arcade game from the solitaire genre. It is equally addictive and has same level of awesome graphics and awesome audio background. Especially the Scottish golp commentator makes my lips go unintentionally wide sometimes.
Here is the latest trailer from the iPad game to check out the feel of it, very casual:
#2: Toy Defense
This game has very similar game mechanic as the tower defense genre, where you build defenses to fend off the incoming enemy. To me the game is great to play because the military toys gives a fun angle of charging war in miniature style. Here is a screenshot, click the image to go to the PC game page and see more about that game:
Honorable Mention: Clash of Clans
In this game, you build up your base and attack other clans online for gold and elixir. Use strategy and cunning to outwit enemy clans!
