Welcome to the Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light Walkthrough! After Professor Fobros goes missing from the Magic School, it`s up to Katrina, and her brother Roger, to find him! Whether you use this document as a reference when things get difficult or as a road map to get you from beginning to end, we’re pretty sure you’ll find what you’re looking for here. This document contains a complete Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light game walkthrough featuring annotated screenshots from actual gameplay! We hope you find this information useful as you play your way through the game. Use the walkthrough menu below to quickly jump to whatever stage of the game you need help with. GENERAL TIPS

  • There is no time limit on the game. You can take your time and solve the puzzles at your own pace.
  • The game offers unlimited hints. However, you have to wait for the hints to recharge before you can use them again.
  • To use a hint, click on the hint button in the lower right corner. The game will highlight a random piece.
  • You will periodically see a glimmering light over some of the objects. When you see the lights, click on the item to investigate it further.
  • Not all items will be visible right away. There are some hollow spots in the game. When you click on these spots, you will get a pop-up window that generally has an item that you need to pick up.
  • If you come across a hollow spot that is empty, it means that you have to perform another action before the piece will be visible to you.

MAP SCREEN

Magic Encyclopedia: Moonlight
  • The red flag on top of a golden figure on the map indicates that a level is completed.
  • If you see a diamond floating around the top part of any golden figures, it means that you forgot to pick up the gem in that location.
  • The bar at the bottom of the scene shows you your progress in the game. The bar will get fuller with each chapter that you complete.
  • You can click on the menu button in the lower left corner and it will take you to the homepage. On this page you can change players, adjust your options, or play any mini-game that you’ve unlocked.

MAIN SCREEN

Magic Encyclopedia: Moonlight
  • Once all the fragmented pieces have been collected for a particular piece, they will go into the wolf artifact.
  • The wolf artifact is located on the right side of the page.
  • The travel artifact is located in the upper right corner of the scene. You can click on the artifact when you want to access the main map.
  • Each coin next to the artifact has a purpose.
  • When you click on the big coin, it allows you to travel in and out of your current location.
  • Clicking on the small coin allows you to travel to the other location in that chapter.
  • The repair artifact is located at the bottom of the page. It shows you the items that you need to find and pick up. However, the items you are looking for will be broken into smaller pieces.
  • The blue bar below the Travel artifact gives you progress for that chapter.

COLLECTING GEMS

  • There are several gems hidden in each scene. The gems look like small colored diamonds.
  • Each time you collect some gems, they will go into the amulet located in the lower right side of the scene.
  • In order to complete the game you have to find all the gems that are hidden in the scenes.
  • Click on the amulet when you want to see how many gem you’ve collected.

MINI-GAMES

  • There are 18 different mini-games in Magic Encyclopedia: Moonlight.
  • You can skip the mini-games if you get stuck, or if you don’t feel like playing them.
  • In order to skip a mini-game you have to click on the skip button (SPHERE) located in the lower right side of the page. You can only skip the mini-game once the skip button is activated.

WALKTHROUGH

  • The following section contains the walkthrough for the game. The location of the fragmented pieces will be the same for everyone.
  • You do not have to follow the exact order shown in the walkthrough. There are many ways to navigate the game; the walkthrough shows you one of them.
  • Some of the puzzle solutions are random. We’ve provided screenshots and explanations for all the puzzles in the game.
  • If a puzzle solution is the same for everyone, we’ve provided step-by-step solutions for them in the walkthrough.

CHAPTER ONE

FOBROS’ OFFICE

  • In the opening scene the game will walk you through the first few fragmented pieces that you need to pick up for the oil can.
  • Grab the oil can and place it on the globe located in the lower right side of the scene.
  • Once the globe is oiled, a piece of the heavy figurine will appear inside the globe, click on it to pick it up.
  • In the screenshot the items are highlighted in the following colors:The heavy figurine pieces are in yellow. The magic glasses pieces are in green. The wooden tracery pieces are in red. The sheet with a spell is in lavender.
  • Pick up all the pieces according to the screenshot. Some pieces will not be visible right away.
  • Place the heavy figurine on the egg that is on the left side of the page. Once the figurine cracks the egg, you will find a piece of the sheet with a spell inside of it; pick it up.
  • Place the wooden tracery in the lower right side of the desk. Click on the last piece of the magic glasses that appears in the drawer.
  • Place the magic glasses on the book that is on the left side of the desk. The glasses will hover over the book. Pick up the last page of the sheet with a spell that appears over the book.
  • Grab the sheet with a spell and place it on the tank in the lower left side of the scene.
  • The spell will make the diamond float out of the tank onto the left side of the back wall. A hole will open up in the back of the room. Go through it.

THE LABYRINTH

  • Collect all the pieces highlighted in the screenshot.
  • The pieces in yellow are all the triangular pieces that you need to collect.
  • All the pieces that you need to pick up will not be visible right away; you will need to click on five hollow spots in the scene.
  • The five hollow spots are highlighted in lavender in the screenshot.

PLACE TRIANGULAR STONES

Magic Encyclopedia: Moonlight
  • Once you have all the triangular stones collected, place them on the back wall.
  • When you pick up the pieces from inventory, place them in the slots on the wall that are facing the same way as the stone you are trying to place.
  • After all the stones have been placed, they will spread apart and a puzzle will appear on the back wall.
  • Click on the puzzle to solve it.

ASSEMBLE THE IMAGE MINI-GAME

  • In this mini-game you need to assemble the image by swapping its parts.
  • Click on two adjacent pieces and they will swap places.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
  • Click on the scroll on the back wall that appears, once the puzzle is completed.

CHAPTER TWO

TIBETAN MONASTERY

  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors: The flower garland pieces are in red. The Tibetan sign pieces are in blue. The bolt pieces are in yellow. The horn pieces are in green. The statue pieces are in lavender.
  • The hollow spots will have arrows pointing to their location. Click on those spots and then click on the fragmented pieces that appear inside.
  • Place the horn on the dragon that is on the left side of the scene. Pick up the last piece of the bolt that comes out when it opens its mouth.
  • Place the bolt on the bell that is on the left side of the scene. Pick up the last piece of the flower garland that appears below the bell.
  • Place the flower garland on the statue in the lower right side of the scene. The base of the statue opens up. Click on the hole in the base to play a mini-game.

IMAGE PUZZLE

  • In this section you have to arrange the images until each row or column only has one of each image.
  • Click on any square and the image will change. Stop clicking on the image once you get the image you are looking for.
  • As each row or column has the right images showing, the heads around the puzzle will turn green.
  • There are many ways to solve this puzzle; the screenshot shows you one way of solving it.
  • The solution is as follows, from left to right:First Row: Man, pagoda, symbol, mask, snake. Second Row: Symbol, snake, man, pagoda, mask. Third Row: Snake, mask, pagoda, man, symbol. Fourth Row: Mask, man, snake, symbol, pagoda. Fifth Row: Pagoda, symbol, mask, snake, man.

TIBETAN MONASTERY – PART 2

  • After you’ve solved the puzzle, pick up the blue gem that appears on the base of the statue. The gem will go into your inventory section. You will use that gem in the next scene.
  • Place the statue on the left side of the scene, between the other two statues. A hole in the ground will open up.
  • Click on the hole in front of the statue and pick up the last piece of the Tibetan sign from the close-up window.
  • Place the Tibetan sign on top of the building and the door to the monastery will open. Go through the door.

INSIDE THE TIBETAN MONASTERY

  • Place the gem from inventory on the pillar that is on the left side of the room.
  • Pick up the piece of the drum stick that appears at the base of the pillar.
  • The drum stick piece is highlighted in red in the screenshot.
  • The location in which you place the gem is shown by black arrows.
  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors:The candles with soothing aroma are in pink. The ring for the cover pieces are in light blue. The golden dragon tail pieces are in green. The huge drum stick pieces are in red. The thick cloth pieces are in lavender.
  • Pick up all the pieces that are visible in the scene. The only two pieces that you will not be able to pick up will be the last piece of the thick cloth and the last piece of the huge drum stick.

INSIDE TIBETAN MONASTERY – PART 2

  • Place the golden dragon tail on the dragon without a tail on the right side of the back wall.
  • Place the candles with soothing aroma on the incense burner that is on the floor.
  • The last piece of the ring will fall close to the candles once they have been burning for a few seconds. Click on the piece to pick it up.
  • Place the ring on the cover in the lower right side of the scene. Click on the hole that forms on the ground after the rings have been placed.
  • Pick up the last piece of the thick cloth that appears on the floor.
  • Place the thick cloth on the broken drum in the lower right side of the scene.
  • Place the huge drum stick on the drum.
  • Click on the scroll that appears in the center of the floor.

CHAPTER THREE

OUTSIDE THE FORTUNETELLER’S HOUSE

  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors: The fern leaf pieces are in yellow. The spurge flax pieces are in light blue. The nails are in lavender.   • Pick up all the fragmented pieces shown in the screenshot.
  • Pick up the green gem that is in the bushes in the lower left side of the scene.
  • There are three hollow spaces in this scene. They are indicated in the screenshot by the red arrows. One of the hollow spaces will be used later.
  • The hollow spot on the lower right side of the house contains the last fragment for the hammer.
  • The hollow spot on top of the house contains the last piece of the nails.

USE HAMMER AND NAILS

  • Grab the nails from inventory and place them on the evil totem that is guarding the front door.
  • Place the hammer from inventory on the totem. This action will fix the totem. Go through the open door once the guardian steps aside.
  • You will use the poker and the spurge flax in the next scene. The last piece of the fern will be available later on in the level.

INSIDE THE FORTUNETELLER’S HOUSE

  • The green gem is located on the right side of the scene. It is on the shelf that is close to the right side of the table.
  • The hollow spot is shown by a yellow arrow in the screenshot.
  • The hollow spot in the lower right side of the scene contains that last piece of the mandrake root.
  • The second hollow spot, located behind the table, contains the last piece of the fortuneteller’s comb.
  • Place the card on the table next to the other cards.

ARRANGE THE CARDS

  • The goal in this mini-game is to arrange the cards according to the elements of which they are made and their basic nature.
  • The images on top are as follows: Male, female, nature, artificial.
  • The images on the side are as follows: Fire, water, wind, and earth.
  • Once an image is in the right spot, it will lock into place.
  • The solutions are as follows, from left to right:1st Row: Smith, witch, volcano, hearth. 2nd Row: Fisherman, mermaid, sea, bridge. 3rd Row: Hunter, fairy, clouds, mill. 4th Row: Farmer, healer, steep, road.

INSIDE THE FORTUNELLER’S HOUSE – PART 2

  • Once the mini-game is completed, an illegible recipe will appear on the table, on top of the cards.
  • Click on the illegible recipe, and it will go into your inventory.
  • Place the poker underneath the cauldron so it can ignite the fire.
  • Place the illegible recipe over the candles on the table, and the recipe will float above the candles for a few seconds.
  • The recipe will go back into your inventory once as “recipe with text.”
  • The recipe with text goes in the cauldron. Click on the cauldron to read the following message: “RECIPE:PUT THE HAIR OF A FORTUNETELLER IN A BREW OF FERN LEAVES, MANDRAKE ROOT AND SPURGE FLAX.”
  • Place the fortune teller’s comb, the spurge flax, and the mandrake root in the cauldron.
  • You have to go back outside the house for now.

OBTAIN LAST FERN PIECE/ USE KEY

  • Place the key from inventory on the round bird cage in the lower right side of the scene. A bird will fly out of the cage.
  • The bird will fly to the top of the house and deposit the last piece of the fern leaf in the hollow spot located on top of the house.
  • Click on the hollow spot and retrieve the last fern piece.
  • Go back in the house.

PLACE FERN

  • Put the fern piece in the cauldron.
  • The last piece of the second key will show up underneath the cauldron; pick it up.
  • Place the key in the drawer that is close to the door.
  • Click on the scroll that appears once the drawer opens up.

CHAPTER FOUR

OUTSIDE THE CASTLE IN GERMANY

  • Pick up the blue gem that is on the lower left side of the scene. It is on the shield that is on the floor.
  • The hollow spots are indicated with an arrow.
  • Click on the lower left side of the scene, and a pop-up window will appear. Click on the helmet fragment that appears.
  • Click in the lower right side, on the hollow spot that is in the hut, and a pop-up window will appear. Pick up the other piece of the helmet that is inside.

MACE, SCISSORS, AND AXE USAGE

  • To open the cache, use the mace on the lower right side of the castle. Click on the last piece of the axe that appears once the cache is open.
  • Use the axe on the broken cart that is on the right side of the road. The axe will chop the cart into pieces, and a pile of wood will be on the floor.
  • Use the scissors on the hanging laundry that is on the left side of the scene. You will automatically get some rope in your inventory.
  • Use the rope on the pile of wood that is on the road. Two ladders will appear on the right side of the castle.
  • Enter through the windows on the right side of the castle.

INSIDE THE CASTLE IN GERMANY

  • When you first enter the castle, the goblet will already be in your inventory.
  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors:The halberd pieces are in green. The key pieces will be in light blue. The lance pieces will be in red. The shield pieces will be in lavender. The wheel pieces will be in yellow.
  • Pick up the green gem that is on the long golden candelabra on the right side of the floor.
  • Pick up all the pieces shown in the screenshot and go outside. At this moment you should have the goblet and the lance in your inventory.
  • Place the halberd on the chest that is in the lower right corner of the scene.

LANCE USAGE/ LAST PIECE OF THE HELMET

  • Place the lance on the poles that are in the lower right side of the scene.
  • Pick up the last piece of the helmet that appears.
  • Go back inside the castle.

HELMET, SHIELD, AND AXE USAGE

  • Place the helmet on the armored suit that is on the left side of the scene.
  • Pick up the last piece of the halberd that appears below the hand that is holding the weapon.
  • Place the halberd on the chest that is in the lower right side of the scene.
  • Once the chest is open, look inside and pick up the last piece of the key that appears over the red cloth.
  • Place the key on the clock that is on the back wall. Pick up the last piece of the shield that appears in front of the fireplace.
  • Place the shield on the coat of arms that is over the door in the back of the room.
  • The door in the back will open. Click inside the door to play a mini-game.

WATER JUG PUZZLE

  • Your goal in this game is to pour the water into the containers until the first and second glasses have four liters each.
  • The glasses have been labeled A, B, and C, from left to right. Please pour the containers in the following order:Pour A into C. Pour C into B. Pour A into C. Pour C into B. Pour B into A. Pour C into B. Pour A into C. Pour C into B.

GOBLET USAGE/ LAST WHEEL PIECE

  • Once the puzzle is completed you will be able to get some water in that room.
  • Place the goblet in the door, and it will go back into inventory as a goblet with water.
  • Place the goblet with water into the fireplace to extinguish the fire.
  • Grab the last piece of the wheel that appears inside of the fireplace.
  • Place the wheel on the cannon that is in the back of the room.
  • Pick up the scroll that appears on the cannon to end the level.

CHAPTER FIVE

ASIA

  • From this point on, two locations will be available. Click on the coins on top of the page to travel from one location to the next.
  • The large coin represents your current location, and the small coin represents the next location.
  • Please keep in mind that some of the inventory items may be used in a location other than the one you found it in.
  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors:The kettle cover pieces are in yellow. The boot pieces are in lavender. The silver coin pieces are in dark blue. The lamp pieces are in green. The butter pieces are in red.
  • If you pick up all the pieces highlighted in the screenshot, you will have all the pieces completed, except the boot and the piece of butter.
  • The green gem is in the lower right side, on the cart, against the green piece of fabric.
  • The purple gem is on the left side of the scene, by the tent’s entrance.
  • Place the silver coin on the board game that is in the lower center of the scene to play a mini-game.

SWAP GOLD AND SILVER COINS

  • In this puzzle you have to swap the gold and silver pieces in seven moves or less. The pieces have to end up on in the same position on the opposite side of the board.
  • If you click on a piece and question marks appear, click on the spot that you want the coins to land on.
  • The spots have been labeled 1 to 8, from left to right. Move the coins in the following order:Move the coin in slot 7 to slot 8. Move the coin in slot 3 to slot 7. Move the coin in slot 5 to slot 3. Move the coin in slot 2 to slot 5. Move the coin in slot 6 to slot 2. Move the coin in slot 4 to slot 6. Move the coin in slot 8 to slot 4.
  • Once you’ve won the game, click on the last piece of the boot that appears on top of the board.
  • Place the boot in front of the door to open it.

INSIDE THE TENT

  • The items are highlighted in the following colors in the screenshot:The scoop pieces are in yellow. The dagger pieces are in red. The pillow pieces are in green. The bow pieces are in light blue. The blade (paddle) pieces are in lavender.
  • The blue gem is on the lower right side of the scene, on top of the blue pillow.
  • The purple gem is on the top right side of the scene, on the red tassel.

LID AND LAMP USAGE

Magic Encyclopedia: Moonlight
  • Place the kettle cover on the kettle in the lower right side of the scene.
  • Pick up the last piece of the pillow that appears over the kettle.
  • Place the pillow on top of the stacked pieces of fabric that are on the left side of the scene.
  • Pick up the piece of the bow that appears over the stacked fabric. It will fall on the right side of the pillow.
  • Go back outside.

PADDLE (BLADE) USAGE

  • Place the paddle in the jug that is in the lower left side of the scene.
  • Once the paddle is finished mixing the butter, pick up the butter piece that falls to the ground.
  • Click on the small coin in the upper right side to access the next location.

GOLDEN DRAGON PALACE

  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors:The sun umbrella pieces are in dark blue. The plate pieces are in red. The Chinese stick pieces are light blue. The hairpin pieces are in green. The diadem pieces are in lavender.
  • Some of these pieces can be hard to see, make sure you look carefully in the corners of the scene.
  • The hollow spots are indicated by a yellow arrow.
  • One hollow spot is in the upper left side. Click on the last piece of the diadem that is inside.
  • The second hollow spot is in the upper right corner of the scene. Pick up the last umbrella piece that is inside.
  • The green gem is in the upper right side of the scene; it blends in with the leaves.

UMBRELLA, CHINESE STICKS, AND DIADEM USAGE

  • Place the diadem in the golden box that is in front of the dragon statue.
  • Once the diadem is in place, the dragon will face the opposite way, spit fire out, and drop the last piece of the Chinese sticks on the ground. Pick up the last fragment of the Chinese sticks.
  • Place the Chinese sticks in the vase that is in the lower right side of the scene. Pick up the last piece of the plate that falls in front of the vase.
  • Place the umbrella in the umbrella jug that is located in the lower left side of the scene. Click on the umbrella to see the design that is on it.

LAMP AND PLATE USAGE

  • Take the lamp and place it on the dragon. The dragon will add some light to the lamp, and it will go back into inventory as a lighted lamp.
  • Put the plate on the space above the door. The door will open; go through the door.

INSIDE THE GOLDEN DRAGON PALACE

  • When you begin this level, you will have the lighted lamp already in your inventory.
  • The fragmented pieces are highlighted in the screenshot with the following colors:The brush pieces are in dark blue. The paint pieces are in turquoise. The garter pieces are in yellow. The mask pieces are highlighted in a crème and lavender square. The rope pieces are in gray.
  • The green gem is on the dragon’s tail.

GARTER AND LIGHTED LAMP USAGE

  • Place the garter on the curtains located behind the dragon. Once the curtains are open, you will find a hollow spot.
  • Click on the rope fragment that appears once the curtains open.
  • Place the lamp on the hook that is on the pillar, next to curtains.
  • There is a hollow spot in the lower right side of the scene. Click on it and pick up the piece of the mask that is in the pop-up window. This piece will not be visible until the lamp is in place.

PAINT THE PICTURE

  • Place the paint and brush on the bench that is on the left side of the scene.
  • Once both pieces have been placed, click on the picture that is in the upper left side of the scene to play a mini-game.
  • Your goal is to reproduce the picture that appears on the umbrella. If you do not have the color image on the right side of the puzzle, go outside and place the umbrella in the jug.
  • There are eight colors on the palette that is on the right side of the scene. Click on any color, and it will appear on your cursor.
  • Click on the section of the picture that you want to colorize, and it will take in the color that you chose.
  • If you applied the wrong color, simply choose a different one and place it over the spot you want to replace.
  • The colors are labeled A through H, from left to right.
  • A - Place the black color on her hair.
  • B - Place the red color on her scarf. There are two spots in which you need to place the red color: on the large part of the scarf and on the small red piece that is close to her shoulders.
  • C - The light blue color goes on the large piece that is at the bottom of her outfit.
  • D - The dark blue color goes on the strip of cloth that is above the light blue fabric.
  • E - The light brown color goes on the fabric that is wrapped around her shoulders.
  • F - The orange color goes on the piece of fabric that is tied around her hair.
  • G - The lavender piece goes on the strip of fabric that is close to her skin.

  • Place the watering can on the dying plant that is in the lower center of the scene. The plant will grow and an apple will appear on the tree.

  • Your goal in this puzzle is to match pairs of like items on the board.
  • Click on any two squares, and the images will flash briefly on the screen.
  • If you match two like items, they will stay lit on the screen.
  • If you did not match items correctly, the images will disappear; find new images to match.

MUSEUM – PART 2

  • Once you’ve completed the game, click on the coins that show up in the drawer.
  • Give the nut to the squirrel that is on the lower left side of the museum.
  • Pick up the magic wand piece that appears once the squirrel leaves.
  • Place the magic wand on the large bear that is on the right side of the scene. The bear will go into one of the pictures.
  • Place the magic wand on the other squirrel that is in the lower left side of the scene. The squirrel will go into one of the displays.
  • Place the magic wand on the crow that is in the lower right side of the museum. The crow will drop the last piece of the coins; pick them up.
  • Place the coins in the glass case that is on the left side of the room. Click on the last key piece that appears next to the glass case.
  • Go back to Egypt.

  • Your goal here is to arrange the jewels inside the box without any of the pieces touching anything else.
  • There are several ways to complete this puzzle.
  • Move a piece around the inside of the shape and a piece will automatically lock into place as soon as it is in the correct spot.
  • You can rotate the pieces by left-clicking on them.
  • Please look at the screenshot for a sample solution.
  • Pick up the key piece that shows up inside the box after the puzzle has been solved.

  • Place the pruning shears on the red flower. The flower will go into your inventory.

  • Give the flower to the lady in the portrait on the left side of the scene.
  • Click on the door of the grandfather clock. Place the weight inside of the clock.
  • Pick up the last piece of the clock hand that appears inside the clock.
  • Place the clock hand on the grandfather clock.
  • Once the clock is fixed, the painting on the left side will move. Grab the last piece of the key that appears behind the painting.
  • Place the key on the wall safe that is on the left side of the wall. Pick up the last piece of the knife that appears inside the safe once it is open.
  • Go back to the Mayan Observatory.

MAYAN OBSERVATORY

  • Place the knife on the vines that are on the back wall.
  • Click on the stone monkey face that appears above the doorway, and a mini-game will open.

GEMS MINI-GAME

  • The goal of this mini-game is to move all the gems into the spots that have the same color as them.
  • Click on a gem and it will move to the next available space. The gray spot at the end of the page will not have a gem.
  • Once the mini-game is over, pick up the last piece of the stone stair that appears on the top left side of the scene.

REPAIRING THE STEPS

  • Place the stone stair on the steps that are behind the statue.
  • Once the stairs are repaired, click on the hollow spot and pick up the last gutter piece that is in the pop-up window.
  • Place the gutter next to the other gutter pieces; the water will start to flow through the gutter.
  • Pick up the last gem piece that appears on the right side of the statue.
  • Place the gem on the hand of the statue.
  • Click on the red gem that appears in the wall, behind the statue.

FINAL SCENE – LOOK FOR GEMS

  • This is almost the end of the game. If you haven’t collected all the gems, the game will prompt you to go back and pick them up.
  • Look on the main map. Any flags that have a gem above them are locations in which you forgot to pick up a gem.
  • You can use your hints to help you find the gems if you need to.

  • You should be able to use your hint to help you find the missing gems. If the game is telling you that you are missing gems and you don’t see a gem on top of the locations on the map, use the reference below to help you find them.

  • Collect all the fragmented pieces around the scene. Some are visible and others are not.

PLACING THE STONES

  • Once all the pieces have been collected, you have to place them in the right slots on the back wall.
  • Match up the color of the plates with the color of the spots.
  • The piece with the red gem goes in the center.
  • Once all the gems are in place, they will shine a light on the dragon that is on the left side of the page.
  • Click on the stone that appears inside its mouth to end the game.
