Nintendo of America has announced plans to release Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition in North America on December 12th. The release marks the 25th Anniversary of the launch of the Super Mario Bros. brand.
Already available in Japan and soon to be available in Europe, the Limited Edition set will retail in the US for $29.99 and includes Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. Lucky owners will also receive a soundtrack CD and a historical booklet featuring 32 pages of behind-the-scenes info original Super Mario Bros. design documents. The games included in the Limited Edition release are playable on the Nintendo Wii.
Nintendo has said sales will continue "while supplies last," so it’s possible this is a limited run of the All-Stars Anniversary collection (hence "Limited Edition" in the title).
Last week in Japan, Media Create reported the Super Mario All-Stars bundle was the top selling game, dethroning Pokemon Black & White after five weeks at the top.
