The Mystery of the Dragon Prince Walkthrough

Welcome to the The Mystery of the Dragon Prince Walkthrough! Accept the invitation to an old castle, get intrigued by the curse and learn about the prince as you solve puzzles, find hidden objects, and wander around the castle in this nonlinear adventure. General Tips

This is an Interactive Hidden Object Game.
Click on Settings to adjust the Music Volume, Effects Volume, footstep sounds, Fullscreen and Text Speed.
There is no option to skip the puzzles.
There is no penalty for random clicking.
Hints replenish in about a minute.
You will need to move items in the hidden object scenes to find other items.
You can click on the arrows on either side of the inventory bar to scroll through your inventory.
Inventory items are marked in blue in this walkthrough.
You can exit the game by clicking on the menu in the upper left.

Chapter 1: The Castle

Click on the phone to start the dialogue.

Find the 19 items that are out of place.
Pick up the postcard (A) when you are done cleaning up.
Head forward 2 times towards the carriage.

Find all the items listed and get the CANDLE HOLDER and OIL CAN.
Use the OIL CAN on the rear left wheel.
Head straight to the garden area.
Initiate a conversation with the gardener 3 separate times till he asks you if you have found his garden shears and also gives you a KEY.
Back out of the area 2 times and click on the castle doors to your left.
Use the KEY on the lock to get a lock puzzle.

Click on the lock and the note the key teeth are all red.
The object is to rearrange the teeth so that they are all black.
You can move them around and check if you have any correct by clicking on the lock.
When a piece turns black after clicking on the lock , make sure you leave it in that location and just move the red ones. See screenshot (B) for solution.
Click on the first set of doors on the left under the stairs.

Find all the items listed and get the OLD SHOE and a BLUE GEMSTONE.
Move the cloth to expose the OLD SHOE and the BLUE GEMSTONE.
Click the CANDLE HOLDER on the burning candle to the right of the door to get a BURNING CANDLE.
Click on the double doors to enter the next room.
Click on the iron bars on the right and note you need a lever.
Exit the area 2 times and click on the stairway to the right.

The object is to repeat the pattern and click on the stairs in the same order they were highlighted.
A different pattern is created each time you make a mistake.
The first is a pattern of 3, the second is a pattern of 4 and the last set is a pattern of 4.

Enter the door on the right.

Take the note (C) off the door and read it.
Click on the door again and note that you need a cross.
Click on the gated stairs to the right and note you need a key.
Exit out of the area 2 times to the main hall.

Pick up the PIECE OF PAPER (D) on the left.
Enter the doors in the center of the two staircases.
Head towards the fireplace in the corner.
Click on the stack of firewood (E) under the painting to the left and it will automatically go into the fireplace.
Place the PIECE OF PAPER in the fireplace.
Place the BURNING CANDLE in the fireplace.
Click on the painting on the left.

Reassemble the painting by clicking on the pieces and placing them in the frame.
The pieces will lock in place when correct. See screenshot for solution.
Read the recipe for the sleeping potion (F) in the corner of the completed painting.
Click on the painting above the fireplace.

Chapter 2: The Potion

Rearrange the pieces of the painting by clicking on any two pieces to switch them.
Once a piece is in the correct place, you will not be able to move it. See screenshot (G) for solution.
You will automatically get a RUNE SYMBOL in inventory.
Click on the ground next to the logs and note that you need 5 gemstones to place in the grooves.
Click on the note in the corner of the close-up. Find the green eye.
Back out of the area one time.
Click on the set table.

Find all the items listed and get a KEY and a RED GEMSTONE.
The RED GEMSTONE is under the paper fan.
The KEY is under the radish.
Click on the trophy room doors to the right of the fireplace.

The object of the puzzle is to place the pegs in the holes so that the number of pegs touching a numbered circle equals the number in the circle.
For example, if a number states 2, it needs to have 2 pegs bordering it.
When the number turns white, it has the correct number of pegs touching it.
The puzzle is random. See screenshot (E) for my solution.

Find all the items listed and get a CHICKEN FOOT.
The mushroom and the candelabra can be found by moving the dragon sculpture (1).
The CHICKEN FOOT is behind the round disk (2).
The frog and the oil lamp can be found by moving the barrel (3).
Open the chest (4) to get the dragons.
Exit the area to the main hall.
Head into the doorway on the left under the stairs and go through the next door into the kitchen.

Click on the cabinet on the left (F) and click on the pile of matches 5 or 6 times till you find a WHOLE MATCH.
Click on the WHOLE MATCH and it will be in your bottom left corner.
Click on the cupboard (G) on the right and find the POT, SUGAR CUBE and MATCHBOOK.
You need to click on the cupboard doors to open them.
You will need to click on the items in the cabinet to move them around to find the items needed. See screenshot for locations.
Strike the match in the lower left of the screen and get a LIT MATCH in inventory.
Head towards the stove and click on the front cover to expose the fire pit.
Use the LIT MATCH on the firewood in the fire pit.
Click on the sink to the right of the stove and see that it needs a faucet handle.
While you are still in close-up of the sink, click on the lever to the right of the sink to open the grate outside the room.
Back out of the room and head into the newly opened grate area on the right.
Click on the door on the right.

Click on the pipes to rotate them until they are all connected. See screenshot (H) for solution.

Take the KEY from under the tank on the left.
Click on the pipes again and note that you are missing one pipe and a valve handle.
Exit the area till you reach the main hall.
Head up the right staircase.
Enter the door on the right and use the black KEY on the iron gates.

Click on the lock and the note the key teeth are all red.
The object is to rearrange the teeth so that they are all black.
You can move them around and check if you have any correct by clicking on the lock.
When a piece turns black after clicking on the lock , make sure you leave it in that location and just move the red ones. See screenshot (I) for solution.
Head up the stairs.

Take the plank leaning against the pillar.
Click on the cabinet in the corner (J) and talk to the voice inside till a thought bubble with pictures appears.
Drag the OLD SHOE and the SUGAR CUBE into the outlines in the thought bubble.
Talk to Gustav, the voice in the cabinet again, and go forward towards the window.

Find the items listed and get a RUNE, CHALLIS and a VALVE HANDLE.
Click on the picture (5) and the ankh will fall to the floor below.
Click on the bust (6) to get the bone behind it.
Click on the pot (7) and take the pipe behind it.
Back out one time and click on the cabinet where Gustav was earlier.

Find the items listed and get a RUNE, PIPE and GARDEN PRUNERS.
Click on the rock (8) and the hourglass (9) to get the knife.
The RUNE is hidden behind the hat.
Click on the statue (10) and take the canteen and the paper bag.
Click on the stack of papers (11) and take the bell.
Speak to Gustav sitting on the cabinet to the right.
Exit the castle and head to the right and then forward to the gardener.
Give the GARDEN PRUNERS to the gardener and exhaust all conversation.

Click on the squares to rotate them and complete the picture. See screenshot (K) for solution.
Speak to the gardener.
When complete, back out of the area and go forward again to see the finished garden.
Head back 2 times and go left to the chapel.

Use the PLANK on each of the rocks (L) till they are all gone.
Go forward into the chapel.
Click on the area by the brown cloth on the front left of the chapel.

Find the items listed and get a PINK GEMSTONE and a CROSS.
Click on the candelabra (12) and it moves to the floor. Pick up the candelabra from the floor.
The CROSS is hidden behind the brown cloth and will be exposed when the candelabra is moved.
Click on the stack of papers (13) and take the PINK GEMSTONE.
Exit the area 3 times and enter the castle.
Head through the doors on the left under the stairs and then enter the area on the right.
Click on the door to the right next to the pipes.
Click on the pipes.

Place the PIPE on the area (M) where the pipe is missing.
Place the VALVE HANDLE where the handle is missing (N).
Click valve handle 1-1x, 2-1x, 3-1x, 4-1x.
This is random so your solution may be different than mine, but you need to only click each handle one time till all dials are off zero. See screenshot for solution.
Back out of the pipe area and enter the door to the left.

Pick up the FAUCET HANDLE in between the barrels.
Click on the back left area of the room.

Find the items listed and get a RUNE, TAP and YELLOW GEMSTONE.
Click on the pot (14) to get the pocket watch and key.
The YELLOW GEMSTONE is behind the ladle.
Click on the bottle (15) to get the fork.
Click on the wine rack to the front left of the room.

The goal of the puzzle is to move all the empty wine bottles to the top rack and move the full ones to the bottom.
You can jump over a bottle or move any bottle one space over to an empty spot. See screenshot (O) for solution.
You will get an EMPTY BOTTLE when complete.
Click on the large barrel on the right in the back of the room.

Place the EMPTY BOTTLE on the floor (P) underneath the cork.
Place the TAP where the cork is on the barrel.
Click on the tap to turn it on and automatically get a BOTTLE OF WINE.
Exit out of the area 2 times and head straight into the door to the kitchen.

Click on the sink to get a close-up.
Place the FAUCET HANDLE on the right side of the faucet (Q).
Turn the FAUCET HANDLE to get running water.
Place the POT in the sink and automatically get a POT OF WATER.
Click on the stove to get a close-up.
Place the POT OF WATER on the stove.
Click on the POT OF WATER on the stove and get the list of ingredients (R) for the sleeping potion.
Exit out of the area to the main hall.
Head up the right staircase and click on the window.

Chapter 3: The Spell Book

Take the 3 RUNES and back out of the window view.
Head through the door on the right.
Use the CROSS on the door (S) and enter the room.

Use the cross cursor to click on the evil faces floating around till they are all gone.

Head into the room and click on the dresser (T) on the left.
You need to find ten PIECES OF GLASS.
Back up one time and click on the canopy on the right side of the bed and take the 1st PIECE OF GLASS.
Exit the room and go up the stairs to the right into the attic. Take the 2nd PIECE of GLASS from the table on the left of the doorway.
Exit the area 2 times and take the 3rd PIECE OF GLASS from the window facing the garden.

Exit out to the main hall and take the 4th PIECE OF GLASS from the pile of debris on the lower left corner.
Enter the doorway to the left under the stairs and take the 5th PIECE OF GLASS from the floor/wall to the left.
Head through the doorway and into the next door to the kitchen. Click on the stove and take the 6th PIECE OF GLASS from above the pot.
Exit the kitchen and head back to the main hall. Head into the middle doorway and take the 7th PIECE OF GLASS off the dining room table.

Exit out of the castle to the entrance and take the 8th PIECE OF GLASS from the stone slab under the right lion statue.
Take the GREEN GEMSTONE from the lion’s eye.
Head to the chapel on the left and enter the chapel. Take the 9th PIECE OF GLASS by the right rear pew.
Head back to the castle and up the right staircase and into the bedroom.
Head towards the dressers and use the KEY on the dresser on the right.

Click on the lock and the note the key teeth are all red.
The object is to rearrange the teeth so that they are all black.
You can move them around and check if you have any correct by clicking on the lock.
There are 3 extra teeth for the key on bottom that you can swap out with the teeth on the key.
When a piece turns black after clicking on the lock , make sure you leave it in that location and just move the red ones. See screenshot (U) for solution.

Open the bottom drawer and take the 10th PIECE OF GLASS.
Open the middle drawer and take the RUNE.
Open the top drawer and click on the box (V) to move it and take the POUCH.
Move all the items off the book on the upper right of the top drawer and take the SPELL BOOK.
The SPELL BOOK will be located on the top left above the menu.
Click on it and see that you need 10 RUNES. You should have 8 in your inventory already.
You can place the RUNES from your inventory in your SPELL BOOK now to clean out your inventory or wait till you have all ten.

Click on the dresser on the left and place the 10 PIECES FOR GLASS on the mirror.
The pieces will adjust themselves when you click them close to where they need to be.
You will get a PERFUME BOTTLE automatically when complete.
Exit the area to the main hall, enter the middle doors and head to the fireplace.

Click on the floor to the left to get close-up of the hatch.
Place the GREEN GEMSTONE, PINK GEMSTONE, RED GEMSTONE, BLUE GEMSTONE and YELLOW GEMSTONE in the grooves (W).

Head down the stairs and speak to the troll.
Take the FLOWER on the table to his right.
Exit the area to the main hall and go straight through the doors on the left till you reach the kitchen.

Click on the stove to get a close-up.
Click on the POT OF WATER on the stove.
Place the FLOWER, PERFUME BOTTLE, BOTTLE OF WINE, POUCH, and the CHICKEN FOOT in the POT OF WATER on the stove.
Use the CHALLIS on the POT OF WATER to get a CHALICE WITH THE POTION when complete.
Exit the area to the main hall, enter the middle doors and go down the stairs to the troll.
Give the CHALLIS WITH THE POTION to the troll.
Click on the table.

Find the items listed and get a RUNE.
All the items in the chest move around when you click them and they will need to be moved more than once to get all the items buried underneath.
The location of the RUNE is marked.
Click on the passageway under the crossed axes on the far side of the room.

The goal of the puzzle is to arrange the letters like a compass; clockwise, N – E – S –W by clicking the levers on the right.
The order of the levers to click are; Bottom 1x, top 2x, bottom 3x, top 3x, bottom 2x.

To enter the maze go; Forward 3x, left, Forward 2x, right, Forward 1x, left, Forward 2x, left, Forward 1x, right, Forward 1x.

Find the items listed and get a RUNE.
Click on the skull (16) to get the knife.
Click on the magic lamp (17) to get the owl.
The cobra is behind the mask.
Click on the helmet (18) to get the mushroom.
Place the 10 RUNES in the SPELL BOOK in the upper left of the screen.
Exit out of the area via the bottom of the screen till you reach the area where the troll was.

Head through the maze one more time.
To enter the maze go; Forward 3x, left, Forward 2x, right, Forward 2x, right, Forward 4x, left, Forward 2x, left, Forward through the glitter area, pull the lever on the left (Y), Forward 2x, right, Forward 2x.

The goal is to line up all the crossbars.
Clicking on one will move others.
The correct order to click on the bars numbered 1-7, top to bottom is; 6-2-4-1-2-7-6.
Head through the opened doorway.

Click on the mechanism on the right (Z).
Place the gears on the empty pegs to make a continuous connection from left to right.
Click the lever (A) when you think you have it correct.
Watch the cutscene and go forward.

Head into the room till the spikes come up.
Click on the runes (B) on the tops of the pillars till the beams of light appear. See screenshot for solution.
When the spikes go down, walk forward into the center.
Your game is automatically saved here.

The dragon will give you a series of runes and you need to click on the corresponding runes in your SPELL BOOK.
The solution is random, and if you fail, the game will allow you to retry.
Congratulations! You have successfully completed The Mystery of the Dragon Prince.
