General Tips

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Hidden-object scenes are referred to as HOS in this walkthrough.

• HOS and mini-games are often randomized; your solution may vary.

• Hidden-objects listed in orange require additional steps or are hidden.

• Read the journal for the clues and information you have found (A).

• Your inventory is in the bottom panel – click on an item to select it for use (B).

• Click ‘Task’ to view your current objectives (C).

• Hints are unlimited, but you must wait for the hint meter to recharge (D).

Chapter 1: The Mountain

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• You will have the option of a brief tutorial.

• Look at the note in the car window (A).

• Zoom into the backpack, pull the small zipper, and take the KEY (B).

• Use the KEY on the car door (C).

• Look inside the car for a HOS (D).

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Locate all the items on the list.

• Open the glove compartment to find the cell phone (E).

• Use the corkscrew on the cork to get the open bottle (F).

• You will earn the CELL PHONE.

• Select the CELL PHONE in your inventory to call Amy.

• Walk forward, walk to the right, then enter the ski patrol shack.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Zoom into the radio on the desk for a mini-game.

• Tune in the signal to hear the complete message (G).

• Select the left dial to move the band (H); use the buttons to determine how far each turn goes.

• When the left button is pressed (I), the band moves a small distance. Each button to the right will move the band a greater distance in sequence, with the far right button (J) moving the most.

• Take the KEY (K).

• Take the LIGHTER (L).

• Walk down twice, then go left to the ski lifts.

• Zoom into the door, place the KEY in the lock, and then turn the key (M).

• You will automatically enter the control booth.

• Take the DULL AXE (N).

• Walk down.

• Look at the hazardous materials cabinet and use the DULL AXE on the lock (O).

• Take the GAS (P).

• Re-enter the control booth.

• Use the GAS on the burner, then use the LIGHTER on the burner (Q).

• Note the control panel (R).

• Select the scraps of paper for a mini-game (S).

• Restore the instructions, by dragging a piece into position (T).

• You will earn the INSTRUCTION; look at the instruction in your inventory.

• Walk down, then walk to the right.

• Look at the sharpening stone; click the DULL AXE on the stone, then move your mouse back and forth until you receive the SHARP AXE (U).

• Look at the front door and use the SHARP AXE on the glass 6 times until the door opens (V).

• Locate all the items based on their silhouettes (W).

• You will earn the COLD KETTLE.

• Walk to the left, then enter the control room.

• Place the COLD KETTLE on the burner (A).

• After it heats up, take the BOILED KETTLE.

• Walk down, then go to the right twice, then enter the ski patrol shack.

• Use the SHARP AXE on the mop to get the STICK (B).

• Walk down 3 times.

• Look at the storage box and use the SHARP AXE on the chain (C).

• Take the HOSE and the use the STICK on the shovel head to make the SHOVEL (D).

• Walk forward, then go to the right.

• Look at the snow, use the SHOVEL on the can, and then take the EMPTY CAN (E).

• Walk down twice.

• Use the BOILED KETTLE on the gas tank (F).

• Use the EMPTY CAN on the tank, then set it on the ground (G).

• Use the HOSE on the tank and you will get the FULL CAN.

• Walk forward, then go to the left.

• Look at the generator and open the tank (H).

• Try to use the FULL CAN on the tank.

• Exit the close-up, then go to the right 3 times.

• Select the cabinet for a HOS (I).

• Locate all the items based on their silhouettes (J).

• You will earn the FUNNEL.

• Walk down twice, then go to the left.

• Look at the generator and place the FUNNEL in the tank (K).

• Use the FULL CAN on the funnel.

• Press the red button (L).

• Enter the control booth, then select the control panel for a mini-game (M).

• Press the buttons from the smallest amount to the largest.

• Press the buttons in numerical order (1-30).

• Get in the chairlift (N).

• Walk forward.

• Take the KNIFE (A).

• Take the THERMOS (B).

• Look at the snowmobile to see the ignition has been cut (C).

• Take the 1/6 FUSE (D).

• Note the Manor (E).

• Walk down.

• Look at the bin and use the THERMOS on the side to get the KEY (F).

• Take the 2/6 FUSE (G).

• Zoom into the door and use the KEY on the lock for a HOS (H).

• Locate all the items on the list (I).

• You will earn the BOLT CUTTERS.

• Walk to the left.

• Use the KNIFE to remove the brick and take the 3/6 FUSE (J).

• Look at the sign; take the KEY and the 4/6 FUSE (K).

• Use the BOLT CUTTERS on the wire, then take the HAMMER (L).

• Note the power box (M).

• Walk down.

• Look at the bin and use the HAMMER to break the boards, then take the 5/6 FUSE (N).

• Walk forward.

• Use the HAMMER on the crate, then look inside the crate and take the 6/6 FUSE (O).

• Walk down, then go to the left.

• Look at the power box for a mini-game.

• Use the 6 FUSES on the panel to trigger a mini-game.

• Determine the correct position for the fuses (P).

• Place 4 fuses in the sockets, then push the red button (Q).

• The lights at the bottom will tell you how close you are (R).

• A red light means that fuse will not be used. A yellow light indicates that you need the fuses, but it is in the wrong position.

• A green light indicates proper placement.

• Enter the shed for a HOS.

• Locate all the items on the list (S).

• You will earn the TAPE.

• Walk down, then go forward.

• Look at the snowmobile and use the TAPE on the wires (T).

• Use the KEY in the ignition, then turn the key (U).

Chapter 2: The Book

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Try to open the door, but someone is trying to break into your room.

• Select the objects in order to block the door (1-9).

• Look out the window (A).

• Note the sheets on the bed (B).

• Select the desk for a HOS (C).

• Locate all the items on the list.

• Use the lighter on the candle to make the burning candle (D).

• Use the ink on the paper to make the ink blot (E).

• You will earn the SCISSORS.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Use the SCISSORS on the sheets for a mini-game.

• Rotate the sheet pieces to form a ROPE (F).

• Look at the window and use the rope on the rail (G).

• Climb down the rope.

• Take the WRENCH (H).

• Walk down.

• Take the MATCHES (I).

• Look at the door missing a handle (J).

• Look at the guard house (K).

• Move items around until you find the KEY (L).

• This search is randomly generated; your key may be hidden behind a different object.

• Walk down twice.

• Look in the tree hole and use the MATCHES to light the hole, then take the HANDLE (M).

• Walk down.

• Look at the door and attach the HANDLE above the lock (N).

• Place the KEY in the lock (O).

• Turn the key.

• Take the CIRCLE (P).

• Note the door on the left (Q).

• Select the statue for a HOS (R).

• Locate all the items on the list (S).

• You will earn the RASP.

• Use the RASP on the door, then walk to the left.

• Look at the tomb and take the 1/2 SCREW (T).

• Note the entrance to the mausoleum (U).

• Walk forward on the brick path (V).

• Walk down, then enter the door to the manor.

• Take the 1/2 CRYSTAL FLOWER (A).

• Note the door to the library (B).

• Walk to the left hall (C).

• Note the mini-games on both the left (D) and right doors (E).

• Select the chest of drawers for a HOS (F).

• Locate all the items on the list.

• Use the scissors to cut the patch (G).

• Place the coins in the purse to get the purse with coins (H).

• You will earn the TABLE KNIFE.

• Walk down, then enter the right hall.

• Take the 2/2 CRYSTAL FLOWER (I).

• Look at the left door for a mini-game (J).

• Place the CIRCLE on the rings to activate the mini-game.

• Restore the map by rotating the rings (K).

• Turning a ring may also move other rings.

• Start in the center and work your way out to the final ring.

• Click on a ring, then move it into position. Click again to lock it in place.

• Take the HAMMER (L).

• Select the dresser for a HOS (M).

• Locate all the items based on their silhouettes (N).

• You will earn the LIBRARY CARD.

• Walk down twice, then enter the library.

• Look at the chair and place the 2 CRYSTAL FLOWERS on the box (O).

• Take the CHISEL (P).

• Take the 1/3 SUDOKU CHIP (Q).

• Use the LIBRARY CARD on the left bookcase for a mini-game (R).

• Select matching pairs of books (color coded), until there is only one remaining book (S).

• You will earn the LOCKED BOOK.

• Walk down, then enter the left hall.

• Place the CHISEL on the floorboard, then use the HAMMER on the chisel (T).

• Take the MAGNET (U).

• Walk down 3 times, then walk to the left.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Look at the tomb and use the MAGNET to get the KEY (V).

• Look at the LOCKED BOOK in your inventory and use the KEY on the lock to get the OPEN BOOK (W).

• Enter the mausoleum.

• Give the OPEN BOOK to Elizabeth (X).

• Walk left, forward, then down.

• Zoom in to the cellar and use the WRENCH to take the NUT (Y).

Chapter 3: The Ring

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Look at the barrel and take the HAIRPIN (A).

• Use the TABLE KNIFE to take the brick (B).

• Note the door to the front of the manor (C).

• Look at the door and use the BRICK on the chain (D).

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Look at the dirty cabinet on the left (E).

• Take the 1st HALF OF PRUNER (F).

• Look at the piano keys (G).

• Walk forward.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Take the 2/2 SCREW (H).

• Take the DRY RAG (I).

• Note the painting is blocking a passage (J).

• Walk down twice.

• Look at the barrel and use the DRY RAG in the water to get the WET RAG (K).

• Enter the door on the left (L).

• Look at the cabinet and drag the WET RAG on the glass several times until you see the pencil (M).

• Walk forward.

• Select the area in front of the desk for a HOS (N).

• Locate all the items on the list.

• Use the knife on the orange to get the peeled mandarin (O).

• Use the plane on the block of wood to make the shavings (P).

• You will earn the FAUCET HANDLE.

• Walk down twice, then go right to exit the cellar. Walk down, then go forward.

• Look at the faucet and place the FAUCET HANDLE on top, then place the NUT on the handle (Q).

• Turn the faucet on and you will find the KEY (R).

• Walk down twice, then enter the cellar.

• Look at the trunk and use the KEY in the lock for a HOS (S).

• Locate all the items based on their silhouettes (T).

• You will earn the 2nd HALF OF PRUNER.

• Walk to the left.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Look at the 1st HALF OF PRUNER in your inventory, then use the 2nd HALF OF PRUNER on the first to get the PRUNER (U).

• Use the PRUNER to cut the straps on the chest (V).

• Select the chest for a HOS.

• Locate all the items on the list.

• Use the match on the matchbox to get the burned match (W).

• You will earn the HANDLE.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Look at the cabinet and place the HANDLE on the door (A).

• Use the 2 SCREWS on the handle (B).

• Take the NEWSPAPER and the PENCIL (C).

• Walk forward.

• Look at the desk and use the PENCIL on the notebook (D).

• Once you select the notebook, release the button and move your mouse back and forth to shade the page.

• You will earn the TRANSCRIPT.

• Walk down and look at the piano for a mini-game.

Mountain Trap: The Manor of Memories

• Use the TRANSCRIPT on the keys to activate the mini-game.

• Look at the first note on the sheet music (E), then find that note at the bottom with a symbol (F).

• Press the key that has the symbol (G).

• Continue and play all the notes.

• Press these keys for the solution: K, L, H, I, K, J, I, H, and M.

• Take the RING (N).

• Walk down.

• Select the chest on the left for a HOS.

• Locate all the items on the list (O).

• You will earn the SCALPEL.

• Walk left, then forward.

• Use the SCALPEL on the painting (P).

• Note the upper right door will be used to return to the cellar (Q).

• Walk down twice, go left, and then enter the mausoleum.

• Look at the clock and place the WEIGHT on the chain (A).

• Walk forward to enter the dining room (B).

• Take the 1/2 WING and the HACKSAW (C).

• Look at the door on the left; place the NEWSPAPER under the door (D) and use the HAIRPIN on the lock (E).

• Pull the newspaper out and take the KEY, then use it on the lock (F).

• Take the 2/3 SUDOKU CHIP (G).

• Note the mini-game on the coffee table (H).

• Take the BULB (I).

• Note the scissors in the fireplace (J).

• Walk down twice, then enter the left hall.

• Place the BULB in the lamp (K).

• Select the chest of drawers for a HOS (L).

• Locate all the items on the list (M).

• You will earn the POKER.

• Walk down, enter the dining room, and then go to the left.

• Look at the fire and use the POKER to get the SCISSORS (N).

• Take the 3/3 SUDOKU CHIP and the MILLET (P).

• Walk left, forward twice, then enter the left hall.

• Place the 3 SUDOKU chips on the board.

• Place the 9 numbers from the bottom into the board (Q) so that no row, column, or square has any duplicate numbers (R).

• Note the books (U).

• Note the desk drawer (V).

• Walk down twice, then enter the library.

• You will earn the RING HANDLE.

• Walk down, go forward to the dining room, and then walk to the left.

• Look at the coffee table for a mini-game.

• Place the LEAD BALL in the lower left opening (X) to activate the mini-game.

• Rotate the pieces to create path from the lower left opening to the exit on the right (Y).

• The purple pieces do not move.

• Take the KNIGHT (Z).

• Walk down twice, enter the left hall, then the left door.

• Look at the desk and use the RING HANDLE on the hook (A).

• Pull the compartment open, then take the BISHOP (B).

• Look at the chessboard for a mini-game (C).

• Place the BISHOP and the KNIGHT to trigger the mini-game.

• Move the pieces to capture the opposite king in 3 moves.

• Move the bishop from a1 (D) to e3 (E).

• Move the knight from h8 (F) to d3 (G).

• Take the ELEPHANT (H).

• Walk down twice, then go forward into the dining room.

• Look at the box on the side table and place the ELEPHANT on top (I).

• Press the red button (J).

• Take the POETRY (K).

• Walk down, enter the left hall, then the left room.

• Refer to the poetry (L).

• Press the books in the in the order the words appear in the poem (1-8).

• Take the KEY (M).

• Take the DIARY (O).

• Walk down twice, go left, and then enter the mausoleum.

• Walk to the left, forward, down, enter the manor, and then enter the door to the cellar.

• Walk forward, go down twice, and then walk forward again.

• Look at the crest and place the STONE PART in the oval for a mini-game.

• Wind the correct combination of symbols.

• Select each symbol to change them to match the screenshot (A).

• Note the code 973 and take the LETTER Z (B).

• Exit the close-up, then walk to the left.

• Use the SAW to take the ROPE (C).

• Walk forward, then go down.

• Use the ROPE on the box in the tree (D).

• Look at the fallen box (E).

• Enter the manor, then go forward to the dining room.

• Select the cabinet in the back for a HOS.

• Locate all the items based on their silhouettes (F).

• You will earn the CROWBAR.

• Walk down twice.

• Look at the box, use the CROWBAR on the lid, then take the 2/2 WING (G).

• Enter the guard shack (H).

• Look at the suitcase and enter 973 on the lock (I).

• You will earn the SMALL KEY.

• Walk down twice, then go forward twice.

• Look at the birdcage and use the SMALL KEY in the lock (J).

• Open the cage door and place the MILLET in the blue bowl (K).

• Take the KEY (L).

• Look at the table and use the KEY in the left lock (M).

• Use the CROWBAR on the loose board, then take the FIGURE 8 (N).

• Walk down twice, go left, and then enter the mausoleum.

• Look at the end of the sarcophagus and place the 2 WINGS in the carving (O).

• Take the SHOVEL (P).

• Walk left, forward, then walk down.

• Walk down, then go to the left.

• Look at the plaque and place the LETTER A, LETTER Z, and the FIGURE 8 in the missing spaces (R).

• Take the KEY and look at the thread (S).

• Walk forward 3 times.

• Look at the table and place the KEY in the center lock (T).

• Look at the shelves for a HOS (U).

• Use the nutcracker on the nuts to get the walnut kernel (V).

• Place the seeds in the soil to make the sunflower (W).

• You will earn the HOOK.

• Walk down twice, then go to the left.

• Look at the plaque and use the HOOK on the thread to get the THREAD AND HOOK (A).

• Walk forward 3 times.

• Look at the fountain and use the THREAD AND HOOK on the grate to get the RAKE HANDLE (B).

• Zoom into the bench and place the RAKE HANDLE on the tines to get the RAKE (C).

• Walk down twice.

• Use the RAKE on the urn then take the KEY (D).

• Walk forward twice.

• Look at the table and use the KEY in the left lock (E).

• Take the ROSE (F).

• Walk down twice, go left, and then enter the mausoleum.

• Give the ROSE to Elizabeth (G).

• She will give you the BLUE STONE.

• Walk left, forward, then down. Enter the manor, then walk to the left hall.

• Look at the table and place the BLUE STONE on the box (H).

• Take the GEAR and the CARD (I).

• Look at the right door for a mini-game (J).

• Use the CARD on the lion to trigger the mini-game.

• Change the colors of the lion (K) by pushing on the different part so they match the card (L).

• Look at the clock and place the GEAR on it (O).

• Take the PIECE OF LEATHER (P).

• Walk down twice, then enter the library.

Chapter 6: The Medallion

• Look at the lower right corner for a HOS.

• Locate all the items on the list.

• Use the piece of the clothespin on the other piece of the clothespin to make the clothespin (A).

• Use the sharpener on the pencil to get the sharpened pencil (B).

• You will earn the WINDING KEY.

• Walk down, enter the right hall, then the left room.

• Use the POOL CUE to get the EMPTY PAIL (C).

• Walk down twice, enter the door to the cellar, and then walk down twice.

• Look at the barrel and use the EMPTY PAIL on the water to get the FULL PAIL (D).

• Walk left, then select the chest for a HOS.

• Locate all the items based on their silhouettes (E).

• You will earn the FLINT WHEEL.

• Walk forward twice, down twice, then forward once.

• Use the POOL CUE to knock down the cord hanging in the pole (F).

• Take the CORD (G).

• Walk down twice, enter the manor, and then go forward to the dining room.

• Look at the vase, pour the FULL PAIL in the top (H), then take the GOLD BOLT (I).

• Walk down, then enter the left hall.

• Use the CORD on the lamp (J).

• Look at the floor; use the PIECE OF LEATHER on the glass to make the ACUTE GLASS (K).

• Walk down, then go forward to return to the dining room.

• Look at the chair, use the ACUTE GLASS to cut a hole, then take the SPRING (L).

• Walk down, go left, and then enter the lion door on the right.

• Look at the jack-in-the-box; place the SPRING in the large hole (M), and the WINDING KEY in the little hole (N).

• Turn the winding key, then take the BALL (O).

• Walk down twice, then enter the top door to the library.

• Walk down twice, then enter the right hall.

• Look at the mini-game on the table; place the METAL PLATE and the PYRAMID on the platform to activate the mini-game.

• Rotate each piece of the pyramid to turn the indicators green one at a time.

• Start at the bottom and turn a piece to get the closest to green; continue up the pyramid in this manner to turn the first stone green.

• Once you are correct, the next stone will flash.
