You’ve arrived in the peaceful resort town of Aurora Peak to investigate some mysterious local crystals. But the devious plot you uncover there could endanger the entire world!

Whether you use this document as a reference when things get difficult or as a road map to get you from beginning to end, we’re pretty sure you’ll find what you’re looking for here.

General Tips

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • This is the official guide for Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak.
  • Hints are unlimited, but you must wait for the crystal to refill (A).
  • Select the exclamation mark to see the current objective (B).
  • Your inventory (C) is located in the lower panel; select an item to use it. The panel auto-hides; move your mouse down to bring it up. You can lock it in place with this lock (D).
  • Select the box to view notes on the events; these will unlock at certain points in the game (E).
  • Select the compass to view the map (F).
  • Hidden-object puzzles are referred to as HOPs in this walkthrough. Mini-games and HOPs are sometimes randomized; your solution may vary.
  • Items listed in yellow are hidden; items in green require additional actions to locate. Regular list items will be marked in yellow; all other items will be color-coded.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Your current location is indicated in red (G). An exclamation point or star indicates the location has an objective (H). A question mark indicates an unexplored area (I). Locks mark locations that are not currently available (J).
  • Hover your mouse over a location to see the name (K) and view a picture (L). Travel to a location by selecting it on the map. Select the arrows to move to other pages of the map (M).
  • Select the ‘X’ to return to the game (N).

Chapter 1: The Crash

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the figure (A).
  • You will have the option of an interactive tutorial.
  • Look at and open the first aid kit; take the TEST TUBE and the PLASTIC BAG (B).
  • Look at the pond and take the BEAR TOKEN (C).
  • Use the PLASTIC BAG to capture the MINNOW (D).

  • Open the door to the cockpit and look inside (E).
  • Read the file and take the FABRIC (F).
  • Look at the rear compartment and push the red button (G).
  • Take the ROPE SPOOL and use the FABRIC to take the SHARP GLASS (H).

  • Zoom into the vines and use the SHARP GLASS to cut them (I).
  • Use the TEST TUBE on the dripping vine to get a LIQUID SAMPLE (J).
  • Walk forward.

  • Look at the nest, give the MINNOW to the bird, and take the METAL WEDGE (K).
  • Look at the outcropping and place the METAL WEDGE in the crack (L).
  • Use the ROPE SPOOL on the wedge (M).
  • Climb down the rope.

  • Talk to David (N).
  • Look at the monument, read the poster, and take the FLINT (O).
  • Note the path to the right (P).
  • Walk to the left (Q).

  • Look at the bulletin board, read the notices, and take the GLASS JEWEL (R).
  • Look at the gate and take the STRAIGHT RAZOR (S).

  • Zoom into the flowers, use the STRAIGHT RAZOR on the vines, and turn the valve (T).
  • Look at the fountain for a mini-game (U).
  • Press the stones so they are all pushed down; pushing one stone may cause others to move.
  • Press the stones in numerical order (1-6).

  • Slide the tiles to restore the 2 totems (A).
  • Select a tile and choose an arrow to move the tile.
  • Take the HIKER FIGURE.
  • Walk down.

  • Look at the monument and place the HIKER FIGURE on the track (B).
  • Take the RESORT DISC (C).
  • Walk to the right.

  • Look at the brochures and take the CRUMPLED PAPER (D).
  • Look at the door for a mini-game (E).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Place the RESORT DISC on the left to activate the mini-game (F).
  • Look at the storyline and picture at the top (G), then find the 2 related items on the discs below.
  • Use the buttons in the center of the wheels to move the 2 items to the green arrows (H).
  • The left button (I) spins the left disc one space clockwise and the right disc moves 2 spaces clockwise.
  • The right button (J) spins the right disc 3 spaces counterclockwise, while the left disc move 2 places counterclockwise.
  • Press Ix4 to pair the boy and 80, then press Jx5 and Ix5 to pair the cow and wheat.
  • Press Jx5 and Ix5 to pair the trophy and the mortarboard hat, then press Jx5 and Ix5 to pair the dollar sign and the lightning bolt.
  • Press Jx5 and Ix5 to pair the deed and car, then press Jx5 and Ix5 to pair the shovel and camera.
  • Enter the Resort.

Chapter 2: The Resort

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Take the TAPE and ring the bell (A).
  • Look at the painting (B).
  • Walk forward (C).

  • Move the pillow and take the SUNFLOWER SEEDS (D).
  • Look at the table, read the newspaper, and take the KIOSK KEY (E).
  • Look at the cart and take the SPOON (F).
  • Walk down.

  • Look at the kiosk and use the KIOSK KEY in the lock (G).
  • Select the kiosk for a HOP (H).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Locate all the objects based on their silhouette (I).
  • Use the objects as you find them to locate other items.
  • Use the letter opener on the bag (1), then pour the bottle on the plant (2).
  • Take the berry from the plant and give it to the mouse (3), then take the button and place it on the machine (4).
  • Take the key and unlock the drawer (5), then take the light bulb and place it in the fixture and pull the chain (6).
  • Look at the panel and rotate the rings to restore the picture (7), then take the handle and place it on the machine (8).
  • Pull the handle and take the KEY CARD (9).
  • Walk forward.

  • You can turn on the 2 lamps (J).
  • Look at the lock and use the KEY CARD in the slot (K).
  • Walk to the right.

  • Look at the pot and use the STRAIGHT RAZOR to take the FLOWER (L).
  • Open the desk roll top and note the mini-game (M).
  • Look at the mini-game on the suitcase (N).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Place the BEAR TOKEN in the upper left square to trigger the mini-game.
  • Select the crystals to move the vines and make a path to the bear cub’s mother.
  • Select the crystals in this order: U, O, U, P, U, V, P, W, P, Q, R, W, R, V, R, U, S, T, U, T, V, W, and T.

  • Look in the suitcase; take the BANDAGE and the MOUNTAIN EMBLEM (A).
  • Note the painting on the wall (B).
  • Walk down 3 times.

  • Look at the chest and place the MOUNTAIN EMBLEM in the lock (C).
  • Take the NET and the SMOKER (D).
  • Walk down and to the left.
  • Look at the bird, give him the SUNFLOWER SEEDS, and take the HONEY DIPPER (E).
  • Walk down.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the hive and set the SMOKER in the circle (F).
  • Place the FLINT and the CRUMPLED PAPER on the table (G).
  • Place the CRUMPLED PAPER in the SMOKER and use the FLINT to light it.
  • Close the lid (H) and wait for the bees to leave.
  • Use the HONEY DRIPPER on the hive opening to get the HONEY-COATED DIPPER (I).
  • Walk to the right and enter the Resort.

  • Look in the tank and use the HONEY-COATED DIPPER to collect the 4 TERMITES (J).
  • Take the BEAKER (K).
  • Walk down twice and go left.
  • Look at the gazebo and use the TERMITES on the wood (L).
  • Select the gazebo for a HOP.

  • Locate all the items on the list (M).
  • You will earn the MEASURING CUP.
  • Walk down and right.

  • Look at the barrel and use the MEASURING CUP to take the FERTILIZER (N).
  • Enter the Resort.
  • Talk to Truman (O).
  • Walk forward, go right, and look at the desk.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Place the FLOWER, LIQUID SAMPLE, BEAKER, and FERTILIZER on the workspace to activate a mini-game (green).
  • Select the flower (1) and then the pestle (2).
  • Select the mortar (3) to pour the ground flower into the beaker.
  • Select the strainer (4) and then the fertilizer (5). Select the test tube (6).
  • Select the tongs (7) and then the hammer and chisel (8).
  • Select the small piece of crystal (9); select the pestle to grind up the crystal, then choose the mortar to pour it in the beaker.
  • Turn on the burner (10). Take the GROWTH POTION (P).
  • Walk down twice and select the kiosk for a HOP.

  • Locate all the objects based on their silhouette (Q).
  • Use the objects as you find them to locate other items.
  • Take a lit match and light the candle (1), then take the key and unlock the book (2).
  • Take the pearl emblem from inside the book and open the drawer (3).
  • Use the handle on the door (4); take the keypad and place it on the safe (5).
  • Use the stamp on the sticky note (6), then press those numbers on the keypad (7).
  • Take the DISINFECTANT from inside the safe.
  • Walk down twice, go left and select the gazebo for a HOP.

  • Take the items from inventory and place them with a related item (R).
  • You will earn the FISH EMBLEM.

  • Look at the gate and use the GROWTH POTION on the vines (S).
  • Walk right (T).

Chapter 3: The Garden

  • Talk to Nicole (A).
  • Walk right to the Palisade Doors (B).

  • Note the mini-game on the gate (C).
  • Look at Alan’s scarf (D).
  • Walk to the left (E).

  • Look at the display and take the PICNIC EMBLEM (F).
  • Take the INJURED CUB (G).
  • Note the animal medical station (H).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Look at the picnic basket and place the PICNIC EMBLEM in the lock (I).
  • Open the basket; take the OINTMENT and BATTERY (J).
  • Walk right, left, and look at the animal medical station.

  • Place the INJURED CUB, DISINFECTANT, BANDAGE, and OINTMENT on the workspace for a mini-game (green).
  • Select the disinfectant (1), then the sponge (2).
  • Select the ointment (3), bandage (4), and pin (5).
  • Open the cooler and select the milk (6).
  • Turn on the burner (7), then select the warm milk (8).
  • Select the bottle (9), then take the HEALTHY CUB (10).

  • Look at the display, open the cover, and insert the BATTERY (K).
  • Press the green button (L) to turn on the display and then take the 1/2 ANIMAL TILE (M).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Give the HEALTHY CUB to the bear (N).
  • Look at the device, place the SPOON on the antenna, and place the TAPE on the spoon (O).
  • Zoom inside and place the GLASS JEWEL in the holder (P).
  • Pull the lever to start the device (Q).
  • Take the SPECIAL SERUM (R) and give it to Nicole (S).
  • Walk to the left (T).

  • Look at the boat and use the NET to take the 2/2 ANIMAL TILE (A).
  • Look at the tackle box and place the FISH EMBLEM in the lock (B).
  • Take the ANIMAL PICTURE and DRESSER KEY (C).
  • Walk down, go right, and look at the mini-game on the gate.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Place the ANIMAL PICTURE in the small square (D) and add the 2 ANIMAL TILES to the grid (E) to activate the mini-game.
  • Use the green buttons to rotate the tiles and restore them to match the animal picture.
  • Press the buttons in this order: Hx1, Fx2, Jx2, Hx2, Fx3, Hx1, Gx2, Ix2, Hx2, and Gx3.
  • Enter the Palisade gate.

Chapter 4: The Palisade

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Take the metal rod (A).
  • Talk to David and take the MATCHES (B).
  • Look near the tree and take the VALVE (C).
  • Walk forward to the house (D).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the bags and take the SAW HANDLE (E).
  • Look at the flowerpot and hit it with the METAL ROD; take the MALE FIGURINE (F).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Note the mini-game on the door (G).
  • Look at the floor and take the BOLTS (H).
  • Use the METAL ROD to pry up the board (I).
  • Walk to the Porch on the left side of the house.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the barrel; place the SAW HANDLE on the blade, followed by the BOLTS, and then take the SAW (J).
  • Look inside the barrel and take the SPLINT (K).
  • Note the worktable (L).

  • Take the SLING (M) and GAUZE (N).
  • Look at the oil drum, take the NAILS and attach the VALVE (O).
  • Walk down twice.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at David; use the GAUZE, SLING, and SPLINT on him (P).
  • Talk to David and he will give you the FEMALE FIGURINE (Q).
  • Walk to the house and look at the mini-game on the front door.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Place the MALE FIGURINE on the left (R) and the FEMALE FIGURINE on the right (S).
  • Locate the 8 hidden crystals in 30 moves or less; select any square to begin digging.
  • Squares with rocks will take 3 moves to uncover; sandy squares take 2 moves to uncover.
  • Take the crystals as you find them, then look for a purple glow on the board to give you a hint where another crystal hides.
  • Check the number of crystals you have found here (T).
  • This mini-game is randomized; your solution may vary.
  • Enter the house.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the dresser, use the DRESSER KEY in the lock, and take the SCREWDRIVER (A).
  • Take the SPADE (B).
  • Zoom into the couch and take the EMPTY OIL CAN (C).
  • Zoom into the bed and use the MATCHES on the lantern (D).
  • Look under the bed again for a HOP.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Locate all the objects based on their silhouette (E).
  • Move the lantern back and forth to light the areas (blue).
  • You will earn the KEY.
  • Walk down.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the opening, zoom into the box, and use the KEY in the lock (F).
  • Take the FOX EMBLEM and the IRON RING (G).
  • Look at the bag and use the SPADE on the salt; take the PICKAXE HEAD (H).
  • Walk left to the Porch.

  • Look at the oil drum; use the EMPTY OIL CAN on the spout to get the FULL OIL CAN (I).
  • Look at the cage and place the FOX EMBLEM in the lock for a mini-game (J).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Move the chickens so they are not in any squares directly around a fox.
  • Select a chicken, then an arrow to move it in that direction; chickens will walk until they reach an obstacle.
  • Move the chickens in numerical order in the directions indicated (1-8).
  • Take the IRON PLATE (K).
  • Walk down, enter the house, and look under the bed for a HOP.

  • Locate all the items by their silhouettes (L).
  • Move the lantern back and forth to light the areas (blue).
  • You will earn the HANDLE.

  • Look at the coffee table and place the IRON PLATE in the indentation, then place the IRON RING in the center (M).
  • Take the TIME NOTE and SANDPAPER (N).
  • Look at the stove and place the HANDLE on the door (O).
  • Take the LOG (P).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Look near the tree and use the FULL OIL CAN on the SCISSORS, then take them (Q).
  • Zoom into the gondola and use the FULL OIL CAN on the doors (R).
  • Use the SCREWDRIVER on the panel and take the CLOCK HANDS (S).
  • Take the JEWEL (T).
  • Walk forward and enter the house.

  • Look at the couch, use the SCISSORS on the seam, and take the 1/2 GEAR (A).
  • Look at the dresser and place the JEWEL on the box (B).
  • Take PENELOPE’S LOCKET and the GONDOLA BUTTON (C).
  • Look at the clock for a mini-game (D).

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Place the TIME NOTE and the CLOCK HANDS on the clock to trigger the mini-game.
  • Use the pinecones to set the clock time to match the note.
  • The left pinecone (E) advances the time 20 minutes, while the right pinecone (F) advances the time1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Select the pinecones: Ex3 and Fx9.
  • You will earn the 2/2 GEAR.
  • Walk down, go left to the Porch, and look at the workbench.

  • Place the LOG, PICKAXE HEAD, SANDPAPER, and SAW on the table to activate the mini-game (green).
  • Select the vice (1), the log (2), and the vice again.
  • Select the saw (3), then the sandpaper (4).
  • Select the whetstone (5), then the pickaxe head (6).
  • Select the pickaxe head again, then the vice.
  • Turn on the device (7), then take the ENHANCED PICKAXE (G).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Use the ENHANCED PICKAXE on the vines (H).
  • Look at the gondola and place the 2 GEARS in the panel (I).
  • Place the GONDOLA BUTTON on the controls and press the button (J).

Chapter 5: Up the Mountain

  • Look at tank and take the 1/2 METAL RINGS (A).
  • Look at the flowers and take the TONGS (B).

  • Look at the lake and use the NET to take the SHARP SHELL (C).
  • Note the path to the waterfall (D).
  • Walk to the left.

  • Look at the geyser and take the ROCK PIECE (E).
  • Look at the base of the tree and use the SPADE on the dirt (F).
  • Zoom into the box and use PENELOPE’S LOCKET on the lock (G).
  • Take the RIBBON and look at the photo (H).
  • Walk down and go up to the waterfall.

  • Note the lily pad (I).
  • Look at the tent and use the SHARP SHELL to cut open the flap (J).
  • Select the tent for a HOP.

  • You will earn the SAFETY GLOVES.
  • Look at the lily pad for a mini-game.

  • Find a path from the far right stone (M) to the upper left stone (N), then touch each gray stone once and each green stone twice.
  • Walk forward.

  • Look near the waterfall and use the BUTTER KNIFE to take the 2/2 STEPPING STONE (D).
  • Use the MATCHES on the hole and take the FUNNEL (E).
  • Walk down.

  • Look at the tank and use the RIBBON on the leak (F).
  • Attach the WATER FILTER (G) and use the VACUUM BOTTLE on the spigot (H) to get the FILTERED WATER.
  • Look at the flowers, use the SHEARS on the vines, and take the GAS CAN (I).
  • Walk to the right and go forward 4 times.

  • Give the FILTERED WATER to Alan (J).
  • Use the 2 STEPPING STONES on the rocks, then select the area for a HOP (K).

  • You will earn the FUSE.
  • Walk down 4 times and go left.

  • Zoom into the geyser and use the SAFETY GLOVES to get the HAMMER (M).
  • Walk down, go right, and forward.
  • Use the HAMMER on the rock (N).
  • Look in the hole and remove matching pairs of jewels (color-coded).
  • Take the LIGHTNING BOLT (O).
  • Walk down and select the tent for a HOP.

  • Locate all the items on the list (P).
  • You will earn the TWEEZERS.
  • Walk down and left.

  • Look in the tree and use the TWEEZERS to take the PULL CORD (Q).
  • Walk down, right, and go forward twice.

  • Look at the generator and place the LIGHTNING BOLT on top (R).
  • Place the HOSE in the top (S).
  • Use the FUNNEL on the tank, then use the GAS CAN on the funnel (T).
  • Place the FUSE on the side (U).
  • Put the PULL CORD on the back and pull (V).
  • Look at the computer for a mini-game (W).

  • Find the code by selecting the symbols on the left (A).
  • Select 4 symbols, then note the colored lights on the right (B).
  • A green light means you have a symbol in the correct position; a yellow light indicates you have a correct symbol in the wrong place.
  • Anything less than 4 lights indicate you have some wrong symbols.
  • The correct code is shown here (C).
  • Take the RED ORB (D).
  • Walk down.

  • Look at the rock and place the 2 METAL RINGS and the RED ORB on the lid (E).
  • Take the DIAMOND KEY (F).
  • Walk forward twice.

  • Talk to Alan and he will give you the CHEST KEY (H).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Take the 1/2 BIOLOGY EMBLEM and the ELEVATOR BUTTON (J).
  • Walk forward twice and select the stones for a HOP.

  • You will earn the CANVAS PATCH.

  • Look at the glider, place the CANVAS PATCH over the hole, and use the THREAD on the patch (L).
  • Select the hang glider (M).

Chapter 6: Finding the Lab

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Talk to Truman and he will give you the REMOTE CONTROL (A).
  • Walk down twice.
  • Use the HAMMER to take the WOODEN PLANK (B).
  • Walk to the right.

Strange Discoveries: Aurora Peak

  • Look at the ladder and place the WOODEN PLANK on it, then add the NAILS and use the HAMMER (C).
  • Take the LADDER and enter the resort. Walk forward and right.
  • Use the LADDER on the bookcase and take the STATUE (D).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Use the REMOTE CONTROL on the painting (F).
  • Look inside the opening; take the LEVER and the WIRE CUTTERS (G).
  • Place the STATUE on the right (H) and take the 2/2 BIOLOGY SYMBOL (I).
  • Walk down twice, go left, and right.

  • Look at the base of the statue and place the 2 BIOLOGY SYMBOLS in the indentations (J).
  • Enter the elevator (K).

  • Take the HANDLE (L).
  • Place the LEVER on the control (M) and place the ELEVATOR BUTTON on the panel (N).

  • Select the debris for a HOP.

  • You will earn the VALVE.
  • Walk down twice.

  • Look at the machine and place the VALVE on the stem, then turn the valve (W).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Take the 2/4 CRYSTAL EMBLEM and the HEX KEY (Y).
  • Walk down, forward, and right.

  • Look at the grate and use the WRENCH to remove the bolts (A).
  • Take the 3/4 CRYSTAL EMBLEM (B).
  • Zoom into the panel and use the HEX KEY on the bolts for a mini-game (C).

  • Use the buttons to rotate the fuses to the matching colors.
  • Press the buttons: Gx3, Ex2, Dx3, Fx1, Dx1, and Gx3.
  • Take 1/2 OMEGA PIECE (H).
  • Walk down twice.

  • Look at the controls and take the 4/4 CRYSTAL EMBLEM (I).
  • Walk forward.
  • Look at the door and use the 4 CRYSTAL EMBLEMS on the circle for a mini-game (J).

  • Swap the pieces to match the image shown here (K).
  • The crystals will turn green when correctly placed as you work; once you solve the mini-game, they will revert to purple.
  • Walk forward.

  • Look at the base and place the 2 OMEGA PIECES on the dome (R).
  • Take the CRYSTAL FUSE (S).
  • Walk down.

  • Look at the control for a mini-game.

  • Using all the pieces from the tray (A), connect the red and blue wires to the same colored end of the fuse (B).
  • Select a piece to take or place it.

  • Take the OVERLOAD FUSE (C).
  • Walk to the right.
  • Look at the base and place the OVERLOAD FUSE in the omega opening (D).
