We are currently looking for a dynamic and adaptable team player who will be responsible for implementing HR programs, manage company benefits, and work with client teams on organizational needs specific to training and development, employee relations, and retention strategies.  

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions
  • Stay current on industry changes by participating in educational opportunities and networking

Employee Relations

  • Partners with business leaders and employees across the organization to provide HR guidance and coaching HR related matters
  • Works with VP of HR and HR team to develop and implement company-wide HR strategies, improve processes and amend or create policies which educate employees
  • Meets with employees and manager to identify and/or provide education and training opportunities for HR related issues, such as training, development, team-building, career pathing and benefits

Benefits and Leave Administration

  • Manage enrollments of medical, dental and vision enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, AD&D, 401K rollovers, and other benefits related items 
  • Takes the lead in managing and hosting annual open enrollment with support from senior leadership
  • Complete benefits surveys and review information obtained from the results and elevate that data to promote positive changes in our plans
  • Under direction from HR leadership, review benefits policies and provide analysis to HR leadership regarding existing plans
  • Make recommendations to leadership on changes to benefits programs to improve expenditures and service delivery
  • Under general direction from leadership, take lead on driving a culture of health and wellbeing by planning and delivering health and wellness activities across the organization
  • Provide information to ADA as needed and required by federal law
  • Administer leave policies for all employees, ensuring compliance with Washington State and California laws. 
  • Responsible for developing proactive audit strategies to ensure accurate to ensure accurate billing from various carriers
  • Validate the enrollments against ADP
  • Monitor and review claims calls to ensure appropriate billing
  • Work with carriers to resolve billing errors
  • Serve as point of contact for HR team members to help identify and trouble shoot reconciliation questions
  • Manage FMLA request process; track and code documentation in accordance with internal work flow processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PPT, experience with HRIS and benefits databases
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security and DOL requirements

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing HR programs coupled with employee relations management and benefits administrationBachelors Degree required,
  • Ability to act with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional teams throughout Big Fish, including HR & Recruiting, Legal and Finance
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  • Extremely organized - ability to think proactively and problem solve through situations that arise
  • Analytical mindset - ability to collect, analyze and organize data to tell a story
