THE MISSION

Under direction of the Vice President, Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst - SOX Compliance is responsible for ensuring the Company effectively maintains and updates all critical processes and procedures surrounding internal controls.  The position provides broad exposure to various levels of the Company and offers an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of Big Fish Game’s control environment, business practices and systems.  This person performs test work of the effectiveness of the internal controls, works to coordinate efforts with the Company’s external auditors and collaborates closely with management and Internal Audit to ensure SOX Compliance.    

 

THIS INCLUDES…

  • Assist the accounting team in month and quarter end close procedures
  • provide management support for ad hoc requests and special projects
  • Assist management with risk assessments, annual planning, internal control over financial reporting review, testing tracking/re-performance and remediation status updates and guidance
  • Ensure timely completion of critical activities including process documentation updates and assisting business process owners in remediating any deficiencies and implementing improvement to ensure compliance
  • When necessary work with the internal audit group in the execution of test plans and ad hoc projects
  • Primary point of contact for the company throughout the integrated audit including leading business process walk-throughs
  • Assist the company in the implementation of the new revenue recognition and lease accounting standards

REQUIRED ABILITIES, ACHIEVEMENTS, AND XP

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Masters and/or CPA preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Public Accounting and/or SOX compliance at a publicly traded company
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting, finance and internal controls, and an understanding of GAAP, COSO, SOX and risk-assessment practices
  • Experience in month-end closing process preferred 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills including the abuility to multitask 
  • Deadline driven and capable of working independently
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required: JDE/Oracle general ledger software experience a plus

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree and/or CPA certification
