THE MISSION

As a Fraud Investigator, you will help to maintain the integrity of the games at Big Fish while ensuring the best possible customer experience through careful investigations of fraud activity within our games and payments ecosystems.  Data will drive your decisions, and careful analysis of trends and behavior will help shape and define the daily processes of the fraud team. 

This includes:

  • Run ad-hoc queries on demand and as needed
  • Define new processes and improve current processes as new threats emerge or as current threats evolve
  • Develop mitigation plans to reduce monetary or other losses resulting from fraud
  • Assist in auditing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency of current processes and daily tasks
  • Lead ad hoc investigations and research either independently or with multiple team members and/or cross functional groups; explore data to identify trends or interesting anomalies
  • Adjust chargeback re-presentment thresholds and fraud detection efforts relating to chargebacks
  • React to any adversity that might emerge within the Big Fish customer communities

Required Abilities, Achievements, and XP: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior level role
  • Experience working in e-commerce or online/digital transaction industry required, experience in gaming a plus
  • Fully proficient in chargeback management strategies
  • Highly proficient in SQL (specifically MySQL, Netezza/Aginity, BigSQL)
  • Experience working with payment systems
  • Experience with card-not-present fraud detection and prevention
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills are a MUST
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel functions and VBA strongly preferred
