If you dream of a career in the video game industry, you need to be creative, articulate, and focused – not to mention skilled. Whether your hope to create the art and animation of a video game or provide the programming know-how that makes a game compatible with any given platform, you need to have a well-thought plan designed to make others believe in your dream, too. Big Fish wants to help the next generation of video game creators get the education they need to make their dream a reality. We are offering a $5,000 scholarship to high school seniors and college students planning to attend an accredited university for the 2015-2016.
In the world of video game development, you need to be able to clearly flesh out a concept for a video game. Beyond story and character, you need to consider genre and what makes a game so playable and memorable. Not only do you need to be creative, you have to be strategic, too. The Big Fish 2015 Scholarship Contest aims to give future game developers an opportunity to showcase their creativity and ability to pitch an exciting new game while vying for a chance to win $5,000 to put towards their college education.

Submit your game design through video, storyboard, screenshots, drawings, concept art, or other media of your choice. Email your essay to email@example.com attached as a Microsoft Word document (for PC users) or as a .doc file on TextEdit (for Mac users). All images and art assets should be submitted as JPEGs or PNGs. Any videos should be uploaded to YouTube or another video hosting service and sent over as links.
Please name your document file with your first and last name. For example: firstname_lastname.doc.

Entrants must be either a college-bound high school senior or a student currently enrolled in an accredited university for the 2015-2016 school year.
Limited to one entry per student.
Entries will be judged on creativity, thoroughness, clarity of objective and plot.
Entries that have been plagiarized will be disqualified.
Big Fish wants to help one aspiring video game developer hit the “start” button on their career with a contribution towards his or her higher education. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are preparing to graduate from high school and/or who are currently enrolled in a college program. Not open to employees or immediate family members (spouses, domestic partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren) of employees of sponsor, or its affiliates or advertising/promotion agencies.

Entrant’s proof of submission does not constitute proof of receipt by Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries or for inaccurate entry information, whether caused by participant or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this sweepstakes, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries. Incomplete, duplicate, mechanically reproduced or automated entries are not permitted and will be deemed void. To enter contest, email your entry to firstname.lastname@example.org by the deadline listed above. Sponsor’s servers and clock shall be deemed the official clock for this contest. Winner will be selected from the qualified entries received.
A total of One (1) scholarship will be awarded, consisting of Five Thousand Dollars. The approximate retail value (the “ARV”) of the Contest prizes is US $5,000. Winners are responsible for paying all costs and expenses related to the prizes that are not specifically mentioned, including but not limited to taxes. Winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. Any prize won by a minor in any state where the age of majority is not 18 will be awarded to such minor’s parent or legal guardian who must sign and return any required documentation. Winners will be notified by email.

Odds of winning depend on the number of participants who are participating in this scholarship contest.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change these rules or cancel this contest at any time, or to modify, terminate, or suspend this contest should viruses, worms, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond sponsor’s control corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission related to this contest, nor is it responsible for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software, malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive any attempted prize or attempted game coupon redemption on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to any participant’s or any other computer resulting from downloading any materials in connection with this contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the operation of this contest or web site; to be acting in violation of these rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or similar methods while participating in this contest will void all such attempts to participate in this contest. In the event of a dispute as to redemptions submitted by multiple users having the same e-mail account, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to participate in the contest at the actual time of play will be deemed to be the participant and must comply with these rules. The authorized account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domains associated with the submitted e-mail addresses. Only the number of prizes stated herein will be awarded. In the event any technical errors occur in the selection of winners and more prizes are claimed than the number of prizes being awarded as provided herein, sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes by random drawing from among all eligible claimants.
