One of the first games that got me hooked to BFG! I believe my review title probably sums my opinion up pretty well with a few words. This game is one of the first I played on BFG, and it still remains on my top list as a recommendation. Though technically perhaps not as sophisticated as some of the more recent in-your-face 'bells and whistles' games of late, FFS: Mystery at McInroy Manor makes up for by offering a complete package of imaginative and immersive game play. The overall plot line and graphics, music, twists and turns and overall 'feel' of the game totally enveloped me with spooky-chills factor and puzzle challenge that kept me tied to my mouse until the end. The ONLY negative I recall is a few of the H0 scenes were a bit muddled to me; yet part of that could have been due to my having mainly only played adventure games prior to this and therefore I wasn't as adept at spotting items. I would definitely recommend this game.... just be careful of what may lie around the next corner bwaa haa haaa haa haaaa. December 8, 2011
Good game and fun Fun game. You do have to keep up with all the items you get and then remember where they go because you are always going all over the place. Not bad for HO. May not be for a beginner. May 7, 2013
Newbies only need apply. One mode only: complete hand holding. Every place you needed to look in a room, glimmered. And if you weren't sure what to do with that spot just click on it, "Looks like a cross used to hang here". In case you missed the big, empty, cross shaped indentation there. Nothing else to do at that spot? It throws you out. Nothing else to do in a room? It locks you out. Almost completely HOGs and the other mini games were either ridiculously easy or made no sense, requiring random clicking til it went away. Would have loved it when I first started out. Now that I have a little experience under my belt, just found it tedious. July 26, 2012
DEMO REVIEW - OK Played demos for both CE and SE Games. Goal is to free ghosts from an evil spirit in an old house. Scenes were dark for me. I like challenging hidden objects, however, dark scenes tend to have the upper hand due to shadows and lack of clarity. First hidden object scene , I had to use my Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass and still needed to use hint button twice. Will pass on this game series. December 25, 2011
Fear not -- an excellent game 'Fear for Sale' magazine writer Emma has to investigate the ghostly McInroy Manor after a large donation from Emma's editor enabled the Manor to be opened up to discover the suspicious demise of the family. This game had the expected attributes of a typical Collectors Edition game with intrigue, suspense, mystery and drama. The story line followed the tragic demise of a family, coupled with the loyalty of the faithful butler and the cowardice of the family physician, with a multitude of twists, turns and surprises during the game. The music added to the plot and excentuated the mood of the situation which included the hoot of an owl and claps of thunded etc. The dialogue was not excessive and the notes in the diary took a bit of reading but was necessary for the story. The graphics were clear, clean and colourful in comparatively dull surroundings but this added to the kind of macabre atmosphere portrayed by the authors. The puzzles did not pose a great deal of difficulty and were intriguing and interesting to solve. You could achieve a higher rating at the end if you did not skip any puzzles which was the same for the hidden objects. These were quite clear and reasonable to locate, some needed a bit more searching but minimal use of the hint button ensured a better achievement rating. Great game --well worth the money, it was addictive. July 13, 2012
Challenging and Fun Games I love this game. Make more sequel to this game. December 29, 2011
One of My Favorite Games I really enjoyed playing this game, I really thought I had figured out the ending but I was WRONG lol. I can't believe I turned out to wrong but nonetheless the game and story kept u interested from beginning to end. I do think the ending could have been better but I still enjoyed the game. Even I figured this one out! I am not much of an adventurer, but this game kept my interest and I did not get frustrated with it. VEry fun, graphics wonderful, HOS very well done! December 20, 2011
unengaging This HOG was very clumsy and tedious with tasks to do where the player has to keep guessing what should be done by clicking on highlighted areas. Must keep going through repetitive scenes to find items to help you in other scenes--a lot of back and forth action that becomes more frustrating than challenging. November 23, 2011
Loved it! I absolutely love the ominous feeling and game play!! May 21, 2012
