Excellent Game New Take on Familiar Story Game Style: Emphasis on adventure style of play. Both adventure and HO are more difficult than most. Thankfully, the other puzzles are less difficult whilst still being both challenging and original. Artwork: Top of the range graphics, good use of audio and animations to create atmosphere. Story: Variation on a familiar story, it unfolds in well-paced bite-sized chunks. Hint Feature: Slow but useful if you use in conjunction with objectives. Replay: You'll want to play again immediately. The HO and mini-games have random generation, there's a time score AND accuracy score, plus a bonus section that can only be accessed by a good time score. Flaws: It's a complex puzzle from the word go, which might deter some. But definitely worth the effort of continuing. Tips: Use your hints wisely!!! December 13, 2011
One of the best yet This is my kind of mystery game. It had me enthralled from start to finish,. I Just the way I like it. It kept getting better and better. Graphics are excellent. Not too many HOS but enough to keep you interested. The storyline is facinating and gives many twists and turns to keep you on your toes. I loved it. Hope there is a sequel. I'll be the 1st to buy. Please keep these games coming. As good as Templar and Childhood Fears. Love them all. November 26, 2011
Too much and too little I found the ending disappointing. The map shows the bonus level, but in this edition there's no way to get there. I can only hope the girl escapes but there's no way I can know. I had to turn the sound off, since there's so much random organ music and repetitious threats from the Phantom, so I missed vital clues voiced by the heroine that don't otherwise appear anywhere. The story should be fairly straightforward, but the puzzles are spread all over the landscape, and the inside of the opera house is a big landscape! Puzzles on level 1 have pieces on level 3! Got bored with the game I wish I could have enjoyed this game as much as others have but honestly I never finished it; I got bored before I got close to the finish. Yes, it had fabulous graphics & was atmospheric with good music & voiceovers. However the hidden object scenes were really cluttered, normally I would put up with this if the game is enjoyable but it just added to my dislike. The hint button was not a lot of use so I spent a great deal of time wandering around aimlessly wondering what to do next & in the end I couldn?t be bothered to go back through all the scenes yet again. Fun Phantom! Mystery Legends: The Phantom of the Opera is an interactive hidden object adventure game. It's a rough telling of the story The Phantom of the Opera. For this game, you play the daughter of the Phantom's lost love interest, and he traps you in the opera house with him. Your job is to escape this crazed ghost. The graphics of this game are beautifully done. I found myself stopping a lot to look around at everything. I especially liked the scenes where it was snowing. The music is nice, as befits the title. The voice-overs are very well done. The gameplay is good. The hint button takes a long time to recharge, so it avoids the temptation of wanting to use it too much. Some of the hidden object scenes were really junk piles, with hard to see items. But, not all of them were that bad. The puzzles were fun. Overall, I give this game five stars. I loved the eerie atmosphere, graphics, music and the voice acting. This game is really worth a try if you don't own it already. I've played it through almost two times now, and see myself playing through several more times in the future. December 14, 2011
Impressed with detailed scenes. The different scenes in the game were incredible with lots of appropriate details. The hidden object scenes were jumbles of things that were also appropriate to the particular scene, but at times I found it hard to find some of the objects. Voice acting and music were fantastic and added a lot to the game for me . It took me a while to remember to use the map to help me determine where to go next. I think it would have been a improvement in the game if you could click on the map to get to the next location rather than having to back- track through a lot of scenes. It was this back tracking that made the game longer, and became a bit tedious towards the end. When a puzzle was involved, the game didn't tell you what to do unless you clicked on the hint button. I found this to be a positive challenge most of the time..... I wanted to see if I could figure out for myself what was needed. I think the hint button could have refreshed a little faster. I was disappointed in the ending which left me with a "to be continued" feeling (although that was not stated in the game). I thought the game's story line was a great twist to the original. Challenging hidden object, puzzle game with sound problems for me. The graphics are fantastic and the map is very helpful to locate something to work on next. Although overall I did like the game okay I was disappointed in the lack of text for all spoken comments, which I only found out about when my daughter told me. I was told there are lots of comments throughout the game and knowing I was missing them took some of the fun of the game away. The story did keep my interest but I didn't care for the ending. I also prefer that directions be given for puzzles but they didn't exist here. November 26, 2011
Good times! If you have recently played their latest release in this series, Beauty and the Beast, take a moment to explore this one. It is a fun game to play even if you are not really into HOGs as the story line is exciting and the graphics gorgeous. November 15, 2011
Good Game Bad Ending I really enjoy everything about this game except for the Phantom's repeated comments and the ending. I thought the story was well done and the graphics were great. It was a challenge at times but I enjoyed that aspect of the game. Was a fun game to play. November 29, 2011
Sheer Delight This game is everything I love and more. The graphics were excellent and the story line was superb. I especially enjoy games that have an inventory. So nice I played it twice!!! November 27, 2011
