Twisted: A Haunted Carol
Way too Easy
This game took me a little over an hour to finish. It's simple to the extreme!. A waste of my money to be sure. No real thought required to complete this game. No challenge whatsoever when the characters themselves tell you where to go and what to do.

'Eezer Goode, 'Eezer Goode, he's Ebeneezer Scrooge
Review based upon completion of the game.
I got this in a bundle sale, and actually anything outside such a sale or a Daily Deal is overpaid. I have never read the Dickens book, but know it from TV adaption and the Muppets take. This version is, hm, interesting.
+ dark take on the classic tale
+ items not placed back into HO scenes
o graphics adequate at best (I mean this came out in 2010 and looks like 2001)
o game is very, not to say too easy, especially the mini puzzles
- game is short, can be solved in about 90 minutes
- hint system mostly useless outside of HO scenes
- some items minuscule
- for the longest time you are only searching keys
Bottom Line: Buy it for the storyline, but wait until you get it cheap.

I really, really wanted to like this game
I took one look at that screenshot of a pretty, snowy, Victorian London and instantly wanted to buy this game. I finally gave in to that urge and now wish very much that I hadn't.
Yes, it's very pretty. It's also very small in that you can only go between three scenes at any one time and there are only five or six locations throughout the game. Oh, you get to see them in various states of prosperity, but that doesn't make the game seem any fuller.
The story was awful. I'm no Dickens purist and was actually looking forward to a "twist" to an old familiar tale, but what I got instead was an insult. You know how some games feel like the last hour or so was tacked on just to pad the game? The entire story of this game felt that way, like it was all just padding.
As for the level of challenge, there wasn't any. By the end of the game I was just clicking blindly in hidden object scenes to get them over with. The puzzles were not even trying to be original. They also weren't what you would call difficult (like a 12 piece puzzle with 3 pieces already put in place for you).
All in all, the whole game felt lazy. Like the developers were told to come up with something for the holidays and this is what they scratched out over the weekend.

I did not care for this game and would not recommed it. Nice graphics but not easy to manuver through the scenes.

Really short, story not what I was expecting
Oh dear. I thought it might be an interesting game due to story. I was looking forward to a story that resembled the book. This game was so easy and due to the slightly scary ghost and how it was done, I wouldn't even say it would appeal to children.
The only good thing I could say about the game apart from the decent graphics is the HOS weren't junk piles.
So what's not good about it? -
- About 2hrs 15mins long
-No choice of gameplay
-Random click penalty on HOS
-Repeating HOS and they were in a smaller box
-Easiness of this game was unreal, I couldn't even say the HOS were hard. The puzzles were so mind numbingly simple, adventure so straightforward.
-repeating of one puzzle (rotate rings)
29 HIdden object scenes (roughly)
Random click penalty. Repeat a couple of scenes 3 times, some others twice. I don't remember any tiny items. All list type non interactive.
Of which about 9 of these are the exact same puzzle - same graphics everything. It's the one where the ball goes in the clock - rotating rings one.
The other puzzles were 2 jigsaws, and the most basic arithmetic, and a really simple rotate circles.
There weren't that many different scenes and you go back and forth between them.
Nothing got me re this game, either the plot which so missed a huge opportunity to be more like the book and even well written. It was so easy and that is just so boring for me. It plays like a straightish HOG which can be OK if it's fun or interesting or different and I love Christmas games.
Don't even recommend it as a DD, which thankfully that's all I paid for it.

This game was frustrating to me. Interesting story line, however I couldn't get very far at all in this game. This game would probably interest people who enjoy more challenging games. I like the simpler ones. I had to quit and find an easier game.

Impulse purchase which I regret
Bought this last Christmas thinking it would be fun to play. It really is one of the worst games I have played and was so short it was not value for money.

Twisted a haunted carol
Lousy game. Lousy story line. I don't recommend it.

The game is not properly responsive to clicks and keeps telling the player to "Do X" even when the player is trying to do X. Finding the exact pixel to click on is NOT fun.
Plus, this changes the traditional story is a way that makes the story a lot worse. Scrooge is a murderer? Scrooge's REDEMPTION is the whole point of "A Christmas Carol."
