awful graphics
I did not enjoy this game mainly because of the graphics, the hidden object scenes looked like they were drawn in a hurry.
The overall graphics of the game were horrible, I was not sure where I had looked and where I had not.
Everything seems to be muddled up together, it felt quite claustrophobic, and the colours were bland.
I can't really comment on the challenge as I never even finished the trial version.
I think the story would have been quite good if I had carried on playing but I found the graphics just to awful to carry on.

That was a lot of fun!!
What a pleasant surprise! It was long and immersive and quite ingenious - with the "real" house and the "shadow" house. It made the usual back-and-forthing more interesting. Plus there was a map to make it easy to get around. As others have mentioned, the graphics were "drawn" as opposed to "realistic," but once you got used to it, it was not a problem and, to my mind, made the game a little different from the norm and were much more a plus than a minus. The sounds were inobtrusive and did not add to or detract from the game, particularly. What I liked the best was that, whenever I thought I had reached a dead end and would have to consult the walk-through, I would somehow manage to figure out what to do! Not that the game was easy, because I don't think it was - apart from some of the mini-games- but that it had its own logic and was internally consistent. The mini-games did not have instructions but it was not hard to figure out what to do and some of them were unusual. One thing that might bother some people: in the hidden object scenes, some - very few - of the objects you need to find have pretty obscure or somewhat misleading names. I personally don't mind this a bit, especially when I can use a hint if absolutely necessary - I find it kind of entertaining to have to figure out what they might have meant by, for example, "oil stove" - they meant oil lamp. All in all, I enjoyed it immensely and was very sorry to have it come to an end.

Beautiful and fun game
This game was a lot of fun to play. It had a nice, creepy quality to it, and the games were challenging, but not impossible, to win. It is also a long game. My only negative comment would be that it was not always clear where a particular object should be played, and there were times when an object could have been played one place but it had to be used at a different spot. But overall, it was a fantastic game, and I have played it more than once.

Tiresome
Good sound, good scenes. I didn't like because the game is slow, the characters "talk" too much and the mini games are very similar. The whole game is not challenging.

Entertaining visually
I had a LOT of fun playing this game. I had never played a HO before quite like it. I found the visual story quite amusing as I moved about the mansion in my search and quest. The difficulty level was medium although I used the hint button more than a few times to point me in the proper direction. I was sorry it ended. You will enjoy this journey.

Not so good
Eh, not very good. The puzzles are very easy, as is figuring out what needs done next. The game keeps telling me what I need to do and where to go, and I can?t disable that. The hint button keeps flashing in the corner ? distracting. Storyline is fine. The challenging part is in the hidden object scenes, but that?s because the simple line-illustration style makes it hard to discern objects out of context. For example, it is hard to find a ball (rendered with a circle line outline) in a scene with a lot of circles. Overall, too simple and easy.

Not my cup of tea
To much talking not enough challenge, I cannot comment on the whole storyline as I was not able to finish it because the graphics aren't that great either.

And now for something completely different............
A beautiful game...... graphics are cell shaded which makes a refreshing change although this did make a couple of items in the hidden object scenes hard to find . Puzzles are quite straightforward if not a little repetitive but not too taxing and the story keeps ticking along nicely. It took me a couple of evenings to complete so great value for money and would be replayable as its a fun game which is accessible both for beginners and for experts. I enjoyed the gameplay, loved the graphics and recomend this game to all fans of the HOG genre.

One of my favorites!
The graphics in this were wonderful. The puzzles were great also and I loved going back and forth in time or places? Keeps your interest going. Would recommend to everyone. Wish they had a sequel!

Do not Pass this one up
Very engaging, excellent graphics, challenging scenes. Do not pass this game by. Once I started playing, it was difficult to stop. Excellent game for the intermediate player who wants to solve the game but not have to keep referring to a guide or walkthrough to progress.
