A fun and challenging puzzle game. A delightful game that entertains a lot. Very nice graphics, great song, several different mini games and gorgeous storyline. January 2, 2012
Highly recommended! An almost perfect HOS/adventure game. Awakening: Moonfell Wood (sequel to Awakening: The Dreamless Castle and prequel to Awaking: The Goblin Kingdom) is engaging, beautiful, challenging, and fun to play. The illustrations and design are beautiful and detailed. A real sense of place is evoked, with interesting and well-realized characters. Beginning the game, the user is offered two levels of challenge- a nice touch. Puzzles and mini-games are the main part of the game, are varied in type and difficulty. They are interesting, and are challenging without being frustrating. Gameplay hints are available and useful- not "there's nothing to do here at the moment" like one so often sees. Hidden object scenes lead to useful objects, tying the HOS in to the gameplay. This game makes you think, and makes you really enjoy being in the world they've created. December 8, 2011
Disappointed Storyline, graphics, and sound are all impeccable. The length of game is a around 6-7 hours. Visually, it is much better than the Dreamless Castle and the level of challenge is taken up a notch. I love the whole premise of this series and the fantasy world built around it. That's why I was So Disappointed that such a beautiful game was ruined with repetition of the same puzzles and mini-games Over and Over again. (arranging picture pieces or object pieces or matching pairs) Its DRAINS the joy out of the game. What hidden objects there were, was mostly Fragmented with a handful of regular H.O Scenes. 1/2 way into the game I got so bored with puzzles, that the game just stopped being fun and it became more about just finishing it, to see the ending. hot and cold about this game Pros - stunning visuals, love the pocket dragon, nice story, long game so its good value for money, broken up into sections so you don't have to suddenly run back all the way to the beginning of the game to use an item. Cons - Not very many HOS and way too many puzzles, which are pretty repetitive (tiles swapping, match pairs, untangle etc# and not very challenging. I ended up skipping most of them towards the end, not because I couldn't do them, but because I got sick of them. Also the fairy hints aren't always helpful #she'll highlight an area that needs attention even though the item needed for that task hasn't been added to your inventory yet) If you like a game that has puzzle overload, this is for you. If you like a game that has lots of HOS, forget it. January 21, 2012
AWESOME ARTWORK & DETAILS This game really surprised me..... MUCH MORE detail, games, and twist & turns than I expected. BEAUTIFUL! Very well done! I am heading off to get another in the AWAKENING series. December 2, 2011
In one word: Redundant The graphics are pretty and the story is there but as a whole I became bored with the same old puzzle time after time after time. Always the same things. It got to the point where I would just skip them so I could get on to the next place and hopefully find something new or interesting. If you don't mind gobs of puzzles that are color matching, item matching, reassembling then you will likely enjoy this game. If you're like me and like different challenges then this one is likely to bore you to death. February 5, 2012
Beautiful and Enjoyable Game You are a princess searching for her family. You need to work your way through the woods, solving puzzles (mini-games) and meeting magical creatures. Very fun and relaxing. The well drawn cartoon-like graphics are delightful. There is no timer. Not many Hidden Object Scenes and the ones that are part of the game are not too hard. (No tiny items to find.) Loads of mini-games of all sorts, some very easy (find objects) and some are more challenging. Took me about five hours of play to finish. I love this game. The only complaint I have is that there are a few too many picture puzzles (rotate and switch pieces). I highly recommend this game. December 22, 2011
Pretty darn good game! I loved the story line (didn't know it was #2 of a series), loved the visuals, puzzles okay. Not too hard, kind of easy. I was playing casual. Only 2 problems with the games. The developers are very fond of matching, putting together, and other games of that sort. I didn't mind the first few, but they got tedious after awhile. I was ready - and the some - for a rest from the hidden object games, and I was lucky in that only a few were included. And the second was with the "help". It only told you what had to be done in any given room, and did not tell you or hint you what you needed to do in/for a puzzle. Very frustrating. Still, all in all, a very good game. Stroll in the woods This is not a complicated game. There is more adventure and puzzles than HOS. The HOS were very easy and the puzzles were somewhat challenging but still easy enough. The simplicity works for this game. Its very relaxing. The music is very relaxing and its easy enough to figure out what to do. The scenes are beautiful. Taking a stroll in the woods put me in a good mood. Would be challenging for a child but is also a nice break for an adult. May 5, 2012
Beautiful but not intuitive Now I am all hogged out and enjoy games with more puzzles than hide and seek and this one fits the bill. It also has beautiful fairy tale graphics and extremely cute faced individuals to meet. BUT I found it not intuitive with lots of wandering backwards and forwards to complete tasks. Being a bear with little brain I also found myself forgetting here to go back to and there is no map. The puzzles appears repetitive and made me skip quite a few as the feeling of "oh no not again" hit me. It did take me 6.5 hours to complete the game which is a long game for me - however, towards the end I have to admit wanting it to end! Cannot put my finger on it - but it just didn't ignite my enthusiasm but having said that, it is extremely visually pleasing. Whether to recommend or not is a difficult one - if you love fairy tales and beauty in graphics you may love it - if you find hitting the hint or skip button due to not knowing what to do annoying - then you may not! Recommending due to the graphics. December 15, 2011
