No Hints Means No Purchase
Played about half of the demo, thought the storyline, graphics, etc. were okay, but there are no hints in the SE for those moments when you're not sure where to go next, or when you missed something you need to move forward. That's a huge drawback, in my book, so no purchase for me.

Dazed & Confused
I very much appreciate the challenge of this game & all games like it but there was no rhyme or reason on where to find the things you need to get through it. The items you need are placed in such random areas and you have to go down or back 5 or more screens many times to get to the place you need to be. Also, rarely do any of the places you clear go away so that you know you do not have to return there and that you've cleared that particular section of the game, instead you are forced to keep going back and checking places just in case there is something that turns up later in the game, this is very frustrating, you keep going through the same items many times in order to be sure you are on the right track. It took days to finish this one but that is only because you keep repeating the screens because you never know where to even start to look for things.

Frustrating game
No instructions on puzzles. Finally ended the game with two areas not "solved". No map, had to go back & forth over & over to figure what to do & find items needed. Probably a good game but seemed to be a "make it up as you go" design.

Haunted Legends Queen of Spades
It was a good game but the walkthrough had more than the version for iPad,so in that respect it was dissapointing and the bonus level for iPad stunk .I liked it but it needs some fine tuning for the iPad version

Very odd ending!
I'll get right to it... great game, great challenge, and artistically it is one of the best I've ever played. The drawbacks are the length of the game (very long in the regular mode), revisiting of areas too much, NO HINTS outside of HOG and some areas magnify even when there's nothing to do outside of read the same clues that automatically go to the diary after seeing them for the first time. Also, the ending is really abrupt, left me with the same feeling of the series finale of The Sopranos... "did it end or did something go wrong?".

Could be better.
One of the more challenging games (so not recomended for beginners.......perfect for intermediates) and not necessarily the most fun. The story line was ok but could have been better......visuals were very good, music i turned down as i found it a little distracting. The puzzles fell into either hidden objects (which were not too challenging although if i have to find any more bells or scissors i am going to scream......) and mini games which varied from the annoying to the unadventurous. The one quite fun card game at the very end you could only play once and i would have loved to have been able to play more mini card games.
I presume theres more in the collectors edition as i completed the game leaving one puzzle unsolved which i personally found frustrating as i like to fully complete my games.
It could have done with a map as there was a lot of backing and forwarding and i did get a little lost one or two times because i had not looked fully in an area and had missed something and i would have enjoyed a bit more detail in the story.
Having completed i dont think i would replay (hence the rating) and it wasnt the most enjoyable game ive played but it was suitably grim and a bit dark but could have been much better if the puzzles had been cleverer and more frequent; the cards were utilised more; and the storyline was deeper, darker and longer.

A must buy for HOG/Puzzlers
This hidden object/adventure game is well worth the price! Great Visuals, fun interactive play, and terrific puzzles. A must buy for HOG/Puzzle lovers!

A fun game with an interesting plotline
ERS, known for turning out excellent games, has done it again with Queen of Spades. The graphics are well done, the music nice, if repetitive, and the story line well thought out.
This is a standard HOG Adventure game with a mix of HOG scenes and puzzles. The HOG scenes are the typical junk pile scenes, but the items are clear enough to find. The puzzles were a good mix of standard puzzles seen in other games with newer puzzles. There were more HOG scenes in this particular game than puzzles, which tended to drag the game down for me because too many HOG scenes tend to bore me after a while. For the devoted HOG lovers, this will not be an issue.
My only real gripe with ERS is that they don't switch up their music often enough and after a while it becomes so repetitive you have to turn it down. I have found this to be the case with some of their other games as well. The first Shadow Wolf Mysteries game was the first one that the music didn't bother me.
Outside of that minor annoyance, the game was well done and worth the money.

Gruesome! Captivating! A Piece of Art!
Wow! Who thinks like this?
Many scenes to explore with LOTS of HO's and mini-games. Multiple HO scenes are dark and cluttered with some obscure objects--but not discouraging. I simply took time for my eyes to adjust and used more Hints than usual.
Wth that said, I enjoyed playing this game in it's entirety. Of course, puzzles and HO scenes increased in difficulty nearer to the ending--unless it was my imagination. Some scenes were "gruesome",yet followed the game's theme. Look around for the 52 playing cards to collect!
Purchased, played and enjoyed the Bronze Horseman CE as well, wishing I had purchased this as a CE for Extras and Strategy Guide.

Another Great Game from ERS
Well, I loved this game! It had everything...the graphics were absolutely great, music was good (but I'm not one to listen to the music always. I loved the twists and turns, there was a lot of backtracking, but what else is new. It just adds interest to the game. I love having so many areas to investigate. Picking up the playing cards as you go is very important...you'll need them at the end. I played the SE version and with a little help from the walkthroughs (thank goodness for those) it was easy to have a good flow to the game. Just when you think you've been in all the areas, you find a new one. I just think that this is a very enjoyable game. Can skip puzzles, story line was good. Hope you try the game, think you will like it!
