Dying for Daylight: Dying for More...
Played the demo and really wanted to continue, as we loved the story, voice acting and humor. Finally bought it at the BF $2.99 intro price, but I must say, I would have been disappointed if we paid full price, due to short length of game (2.5 hours). We do play rather fast, but a short game time and no solid ending left us wanting MUCH more.
Stylistically, a great looking game with great characters. The map feature that lets you jump to previously visited areas is nice and avoids too much running back and forth.
Puzzles are not all that difficult for seasoned players. Hidden object scenes are well done and, though dark (in keeping with the motif), they're not too hard on the eyes.
I know everyone raves about this game, but it will likely leave the hardcore, late-night, long session gamer wanting a lot more. I'd recommend the game ONLY on the basis of it's high production value, great story and colorful characters, but NOT on the full experience due to short gameplay and an unresolved ending that isn't even a cliffhanger.

4 or 5 THAT is the question.
I'm finding it really hard to rate this one... Which describes the whole game - really hard. Not the HO scenes, the adventure stuff.
I really love this one. A hip vampire chick with funky attitude, and wicked dress sense, I thought, what's not to like?
I really loved the intro music, enough to look up the performers (The Scarlet Furies). The gameplay, artwork and story, are all delightfully captivating and original.
But it was very hard for me, not as experienced as I am now, to get a handle on the game. The IDEA of the game kept me battling on gamely, walkthrough in hand, until I had finished it, and I have enjoyed playing through it all again now I've got the hang of it. Which I guess speaks for how replayable this one is.
The ending is very disappointing, because it promises a sequel that has yet to materialise, and the story is unfinished. I guess I'd say that was my only other gripe than the difficulty.
In fact, after writing all this, I figure if you're a better gamer than me (not hard), this one is probably worth a 5.

Loved this game - It is fun!
PLUS SIDE = I am not really into vampires, so wasn't sure I would like this game. But when the music started playing, the opening song made me smile and tap my feet, and drew me into the game. Then the lead character Dahlia started talking in her sassy snarky way, and I was hooked. Gotta love her and her mouth. This game is fun! And I love doing dress-up mini-games!
MINUS SIDE = This game ends as a Part 1 and I really want the next part to come out NOW!

One of the Best Games I've Come Across
This game is good, very good, this game is fun, lots of fun, this game is permanent enjoyment from the very first scene. So, a vampire story ? Again ? Yes, but this one doesn't really take itself seriously.
The characters, starting with Dahlia, are colorful, picturesque, witty. There is an overall and omnipresent sense of humor that keeps spicing up the adventure, either overtly or transpiring through small details here and there. The dialogues, well worded, pertinent, incisive and funny, are worth not being skipped.
Quite a bit of imagination, too, from the developers, even though the substructure is fairly classical.
The minigames are original and fun to play, the puzzles entertaining and not difficult, even though the game is not loaded with them, but this is largely compensated by the rest.
Each HOS is manageable without getting a headache (unlike in some other games) and they, too, are fun in spite of a hint system which, I agree, is a bit vague.
With a pretty solid storyline based on a very original idea, the game takes you on a quest for a sun lotion amidst a war between vampires.
But rest assured, although blood comes up often there is nothing gory about it all.
Spooky ? Yes. In the right amount. Morbid ? No, and that's a performance nowadays.
Bouncing back and forth from location to location is no hassle thanks to the map; just click where you need to go, another nice feature that you don't find in many HOGs; they all force you to backtrack anyway but not often the easy way.
The song in the intro is surprisingly good for a game.
You don't have to be a fan of Charlaine Harris to enjoy Dying for Daylight, you only need to like good games. As for me not only am I going to start probing her books, but I am also definitely buying the game - as this review is based on the demo.
Needless to say that I am already looking forward to Chapter 2 as soon as it is released, since this first installment contains only the first 4 Episodes [which, by the way explains why the game is shorter than one would expect].
A well deserved 5 star rating from me.

Great game, but short and not finished!
I LOVED playing this game. Great, interesting and quirky characters. Dark and funny, Dahlia has a great sense of humor!
I was just very dismayed that the ending leaves you hanging... no tie up at all. It's very disappointing.
It's a short game too, so I would only purchase it if it was on one of the $3 or $4 deals or if you really don't care about the prices.

Dying fo Harris
This game has everything I require of a game, it was a fun and clever story, the puzzles were challenging but not ridiculously unintelligible, voice actors were good and did not sound as if they read prior to.
For those of us who have read Harris's novels, it is fun to walk around in her world, but also for those who have not read a single one of her books is the gaming experience complete.
Above all, it was a fun gaming experience where everything worked out.
I really hope that it will continue with a second part.

Loved this game!
If you understand that you're only getting Part 1 of a two part game, this is AWESOME! Honestly, it's my favorite game.
The graphics are visually stunning. The story/dialogue is witty and fun. The comic book styles sections are beautiful and so well done. The game is pleasantly challenging and full of entertaining missions.
My only regret is that it's not longer! I can't wait for Part 2 to be finished!

Sassy but unsatisfied
I absolutely loved the main character--she was sassy and had a lot of attitude. The game play was fun, the story line engaging.
That being said, the ending was a real disappointment. I wish I'd known it was only half a game before I bought it. It's been a year now since I purchased Dying for Daylight and there is still no 2nd part.
If you don't mind NOT being able to finish the story line up, the game play is fun and engaging. Not having a conclusion to the story line was a huge disappointment for me.
1 star taken for being 'to be continued' and 1 star taken for NOT having a 2nd game a year later.

Should be Game of the Year
This game is full of fun. The characters are fun and clever. I really liked the comments that Dahlia makes. The story is great and I hadn?t heard of Charlene Harris but am now a fan of her books as well. The visual of this game are great and immersive. The puzzles were challenging but do-able with a little work. I can?t wait for the next installment of his game.

Very Fun
I had a lot of fun playing this game. I had to put myself to bed towards the end because I was having so much fun and did not want to stop.
I loved the story line and all of the voice acting. This is usually the type of stories I like to read. Dahlia was such a fun character, you can tell she comes from Harris's mind.
I was kind of confused about the mini games in the HOGs. Maybe I need to find a guide that will point them out to me because I only found the first one.
The other types of mini games were pretty easy, a little too easy for me. I think the only one I skipped was the pig one.
The HOG scenes were pretty easy also and I did not use the hint button too often.
The real challenge of the game was what to do next and where to go next. I think that took up most of my time.
I wish I had more of a choice when to use the vampire powers in the game. I think I have seen that in other vampire games.
The music got pretty annoying for me. I had to turn it completely off.
I can't wait for the sequel to be released. I hope it won't be a year.
