Good....but a Truely Abrupt Ending!! This game starts off so good, and you are enjoying the story, the music, and even a few good scares....when it ends...and you feel kinda like someone cut the film. You are left with a feeling of "What the devil just happened?". The hidden objects are good, as well as the puzzles. You really will like this game until the abrupt ending. I wasn't fond of the ending, but I did enjoy playing the game. February 6, 2012
What a complete waste! This is the first time I've ever written a review for a game here on BF, I'm sad to say that it isn't a very good one. I was so excited to be able to play this game once I upgraded my dino of a PC. I played the demo and was psyched to solve the mystery. The HOS weren't too cluttered and the items fairly simple to find. The puzzles were ok, but not great. I did however, find myself extremely bored having to go back and fourth half a dozen times just to get the items I needed throughout the game. The music was well done and the voice acting as well. Except for the fortuneteller. As VA, myself, I cringed every time she started speaking. The story line is very engaging, it was the main reason I purchased the game. But as others have already stated, it ends abruptly. Sure you solve the mystery...sort of...but another crops up right before the ending credits roll. I'd hoped that a second game continued the story...let's just say that it really didn't, but that's left for another review. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this game at all. Maybe the CE edition, however, we shouldn't have pay more money just to get a complete ending. April 1, 2012
Fantastic!! Loved the beautiful graphics and gorgeous music. The HOS were crisp and clear and the hint button charged quite quickly, though could of done with a map or a hint button on where to go next i suppose. The downside for me was the abrupt ending!! what was that about? quite a short game but enjoyed it a lot. I've downloaded the next instalment and can't wait to start it, just hope it's just as beautiful a game. March 15, 2012
Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Curse of the Full Moon Very challenging puzzles and the continuing story of the Shadow Wolf is one I enjoy. March 7, 2012
Werewolf mystery?? First, the graphics for this game are very good, the voice overs are well done except the fortune teller (she is awful), the music is ok since I didn't really notice it, and there are 2 game modes. The storyline is ok, but the werewolf mystery isn't really there. The HOs are junkpiles with some interaction and are fairly easy. The puzzles were good but not really challenging. The game play was ok with the majority of task items found in the HOs one at a time so you visited most HO scenes at least twice. The ending leaves you somewhat disappointed as it ends abruptly with no real solution. I just replayed the game to write this review, and I did finish in less than my average time. Since it had been some time since I last played it, I am guessing that was the same the first time. I am recommending this game, because it is a fairly good play but not much of a challenge. Howling Good Time? The storyline starts off rather interesting, but becomes dry rather quickly, than nonexistent, and abruptly ends. I honestly thought it would be more about werewolves, but... The story does follow along, it's not confusing, but there could have been more to it. The visual and sound quality was really nice throughout the game. This has the usual mystery puzzle solving, back and forth between scenes for HOG's, etc. The challenge is middle-range to some being more difficult, but nothing that one shouldn't be able to solve or skip if you want. Options are normal (sparkle help# or expert #no sparkle help). For the most part, at least the HOG and puzzle's match up together to make sense throughout game play. This one falls into enjoyable and relaxing, but it could have used a bit more, to make it wonderful and thrilling! January 10, 2012
HOG real good// story slow drags the HOG were fast & fun Waiting for the rest to move was a drag literaly// the scene changes the dialog boxes sloow to come and sloow to go same 4 going scene to scene if it was faster then it would probably be a good fun game (this is the only game from BFG that I've bought or tried that drags like this in the 60 min tryout I didn' even get to the 3rd HOG slow slow December 3, 2011
That's it?? Two and a half stars . . I bought this game because I thought the trial version was fun and I enjoyed the mysterious atmosphere, but the ending was way too abrupt, left too many unanswered questions and felt like the writers lost interest and wanted to be done with the story. The voice actress for the gypsy was terrible too - it's hard to overlook a gypsy with a southern accent, but I could have if the ending had been better. I recently played the demo of the sequel to this game and thought it was interesting, but won't be buying it because I'm afraid of another lame duck ending. The sequel seems to start with more information than we were left with at the end of this game - maybe the ending in the collector's edition was better? I don't really want to give this game three stars because it isn't really ok, but nor did I dislike the majority of the game to give it two stars . . . January 10, 2012
An excellent game by ERS ERS has put out yet another fine game for players. Personally, I think this Shadow Wolf Mysteries game is better than some of their other collections. The voice overs were well done, the story line intricate, and most of all, the music wasn't has annoying as it is in some of their other games. The HOG scenes are typical junk piles, but the items are clear enough to find. There were some standard puzzles as well as some new ones, making the game challenging yet not impossible to beat. This game wasn't overwhelmed with HOG scenes which, as someone who tires of too many HOG scenes after a while, it was a perfect balance for me. I had to look at the walkthrough only once during the game, so the flow is logical overall. All in all, an excellent game. June 16, 2012
