Fun Hidden Object Game LOVED IT ! Has a Surprise ending so don't give up halfway through. November 15, 2011
Only one negative Based on entire game. Overall very enjoyable. Cutscenes were well done and artwork was lovely. Music was good. Human voices were pleasant. The high-pitched voices for the non-human characters done in unison were amusing. Hint system can nudge you in the right direction if you?re not sure what to do next. One negative: there is a bit of backtracking. A map would be nice (indicating where you are, especially after a lapse of several days between playing); an interactive map would be even better. HOS: Objects were readily identifiable and the scenes not too dark. [I have my monitor set to be more bright than dark.] Puzzles: Nice variety, ranging from easy to intermediate difficulty, with a fair number of dream card puzzles (needed to name the ghosts that are encountered). No ?that?s only done in the movies? or similar irritating remarks when you do something incorrect in a puzzle. Several recipes are needed to release the animal spirits imprisoned in the Shadowlocks. Finding the ingredients was not difficult and casting the spells was fun. June 25, 2012
Awsome-don't know why ratings not higher I trialed and bought this as the Daily Deal and was so favorably impressed that I decided to write a review (my first in a couple of years of membership). I consider myself an Expert, but I found the game challenging, but not overly so. At times the HO scenes were difficult, but there's no time constraint or click penalties, so I don't mind taking my time to search for the difficult ones. At times I would use the hint when I only had 1 more to find, just so I could get back into the game sooner. What I REALLY like about it was how different it was from all the other HOGs I've played. Loved the story, loved the music, and really loved the experience. 1 Did not have to use Skip for any of the puzzles 2 When I needed a hint the Hint button was very helpful 3 Could have been longer because I was enjoying it a lot, but knowing what I know now I would still have bought it at SE prices 4 Artwork was great 5 Cut scenes (for me) were well done and not obtrusive to deal with 6 Did not find it played slow as some reviewers said 7 I hope there is a sequel coming... Great story, great game! Ok, if you dislike anything occult, avoid this one. Also, if you dislike games that don't tax your brain, you won't like this one either -- so you guys can quit reading right here... :) For those of you like me, who love a good story and a game you can play without stressing out and/or having to open up the walkthrough several times-- that makes you use your brain, requires you to pay attention, and keeps you engaged -- then this game is for you. As far as story lines go, this is one of my favorites. The graphics are beautiful and the voiceover is good. I always turn the music down, so I cannot speak to that. I usually listen to the tv while playing a game, but this one required more attention -- so I played my ipod instead.... :) The one thing that would have been nice to have is an interactive map as there are many, many scenes and a good bit of backtracking.... Thoroughly enjoyable! Game play is different from most altho the HO scenes are typical. Enjoy! May 27, 2012
not as good as the others This one is ok. To much talking. At least it did have voice over but a little to much. The HOS were very hard because of the dull screen and small objects to find. The puzzles were ok. Lots going on and have to go from one area to another just to not find things needed. Have 2 sets of item board which was a little confusing to me. The other newer game is a lit better. May 23, 2013
Captivating This is an absolute buy for today's DD price. The puzzles are a biy different but welcomed. As the rest of the reviews said the HOS are bit hard since some of the items are VERY well hidden, but hint HELPS!!!. This game captivated me as soon as it started, I don't think I have evr played a game where there is singing as soon as you go into it. The voice overs are well done but a bit anoying at times, especially when everytime you click on something the main character's voice tells you what to do, but then again it is helpful. This is a steal for the price and you should definetely get it!!! May 27, 2012
Very entertaining and reasonably challenging. I really liked this one. The conversations could have been shorter but they are part of the story after all. I found the puzzles and HOS's challenging enough and some innovative ideas during game play. I think the creators could have gone a bit longer in the game, the end is a bit abrupt and it leaves you wanting more. Hopefully they will deliver with the promised saga. January 9, 2012
Surprisingly Good Just played the game and enjoyed every minute. Seemed to be a little childish in the beginning, but to our surprise it ended up being quite challenging. Great hidden object scenes! December 4, 2011
Great challenge! Loved this game, just like the other Margrave game. Lots do and outstanding artistry. The only thing I didn't like was that many of the mini puzzles didn't have any instructions. Thankfully the skip button refills fast. February 20, 2012
slow and choppy This game played VERY slow on my computer. way too many extra graphics not needed when discovering a clue, voice overs were excessive. HOS objects were sometimes too small or dark to see. No diary which i hated. While i only played the demo, i quit before my time was up because it was so slow and annoying, i lost patience. I knew the storyline but found it uninteresting, why was i doing the things i was doing?? I had to use the hint button to find out what to do next because places to click on were so small (like the chicken in the kitchen) and no sparkles (which i normally dislike because it doesn't give me time to find it myself).
