cute - could be longer very nice game beautiful graphics and music challenging but not too much five stars if longer April 25, 2012
fun game, especially for the price this is a fun little hidden object game with lovely graphics and charming scenes to explore. there are lots of spirits/ghosts in it. the game objective: you are edwina margrave, a young woman who has returned to the cottage where her parents died when she was a child. she is searching to learn more about how they died. the graphics: lovely, quirky at times. the hidden object scenes are challenging; they invariably have one object that i couldn't find easily, so i used the hint button because i wanted to progress through as much of the game as possible during the one-hour demo. the music: not intrusive or distracting. the voiceovers: not too bad. my interaction: one hour demo, and then i purchased this game (but i have not yet finished it). it's a fun little game so far, and i am looking forward to finishing it. AMAZING game! LOVE the Margrave Series! Forgoing the voice over...don't like to be told what to do or how to figure things out...and always playing on expert mode; This game is a wonderful puzzle and adventure! The HOS are difficult at times, puzzles are different and the whole game is just FUN! November 1, 2012
EVEN MY PET PEEVE DIDN'T KEEP ME FROM LIKING THIS GAME Normally, if a game is guilty of my pet peeve, then I don't rate it very highly. This game, however, is an exception. My pet peeve is being sent back and forth through the many scenes to get new items for inventory or to solve a puzzle until you have no idea where you are or where to go next. Often I am forced to go to a Strategy Guide to find the next play area. However, in this game, the hint button was so well done, that I was always able to use it to figure out where to go next. And I used the hint button a lot for this reason only. I rarely had to use a hint in the HOS. The storyline was excellent and I loved the British accents in the voice overs. Some of the items in the HOS were also British flavored. The mini games weren't too hard, but one or two of them needed an explanation as to what needed to be done. Of course, I'm sure the strategy guide would have told me, but I would rather skip a puzzle than break my rhythm. I played with the music off, but the background sounds on, which allowed for the voice overs to be heard. Usually, I play with no sound at all, as the music and background noises distract me. This often leaves me reading the voice overs instead of hearing them, which would have been bad in this game because of the great British accents. Not many games allow you to hear the voice overs if you turn off some of the sound settings. Great game. October 17, 2012
Margrave: The Curse of the Severed Heart Just finished this game and recommend it. I found it to be refreshingly different. I am an avid fan of computer games and have a huge collection of them. After playing hundreds over the past several years, it seems to me that many of them have a "sameness" in story line and tasks. So it was a delight to "step into" this game and find it didn't fit the "cookie-cutter" formula of so many of the others. The people in the story are live actors, but the scenes are artist created. I am a fan of puzzles so I was happy to discover that this game had more puzzles than usual. And I found them to be quite unique and interesting. Many of them seemed more difficult than usual. The story also had a satisfying ending. I might add in closing that the game didn't immediately capture my interest, but I got drawn in as I went along and am VERY glad I continued playing to the end. So do the demo and if it doesn't immediately "grab you", give it a bit more time before you decide against it. You may find you get drawn into an enjoyable gaming experience, too! Ghostly Reunion This game is basically fun. The scenery is well drawn and quite pretty. The story line is a "sweet" as it solves the mystery in a young woman's past. The HO scenes are good - challenging but not impossible. The scale of objects you are looking for is not realistic in proportion to what they are sometimes. The puzzles are varied, fun and not impossible but make you stop and think. Occasionally I felt stumped about what to do next but muddled my way onward. The music was pleasant and not annoying. There is no journal or map and there is a bit of to and froing. It isn't particularly scary so would be suited for playing with a child. All in all a very satisfactory few hours can be wiled away with this game. August 7, 2012
What a great game I was so lucky to get this on the weekly special! The intro was great with a nice voice over- loved the music. There are great voice overs thru out the game - loved it. The hints fill up "quickly" and you don't really need the blog as the Hint button wil help you if you're stuck. Graphics/music/storyline all very very good. It could be a little more challenging though. I only used the Hint button because I wanted to know what I was getting for inventory RIGHT NOW. Lots to do. Loved the little Shadowlocks!! And the Map helped me quite a bit to navigate without the Help. Recommend this for any level. Love these BF games!!!!! July 16, 2012
Keep them coming! Margraves' are great HOG This is the second in the series and is as good as the first. I personally like returning to a scene to find more HO. The HO were well hidden but I was able to find most of them without the help of clues. The story line was like a chick flick ----- sooooo.I really did like this HOG. Oh one other thing the puzzles were excellent also May 27, 2012
Margrave I was hesitant to try this, i'm not a fan of creepy games with ghosts and bad spirits, etc.. i thought it wouldn't be that bad with reviews describing it as a cheesy love story. i found it to be both cheesy and creepy, i played some of the demo but decided not to buy. July 9, 2012
Margrave: The Curse of the Severed Heart This is a fun game. It is a hidden object game. You have to find your mother to prove her that she is not guilty. You have to gather different items to give them names and bring them to live. I would recommend this game. July 9, 2012
