Refreshing!!!
One word to describe ?Antique Road Trip 2? is?refreshing!!! This is a nice change from Boomzap?s other two series ?Dana Knightstone? and ?Awakening.? It reminds me more of the ?Big City Adventure? or ?Mystery P.I.? games, but not as long. But I like the addition of buying the antiques for the store and the cute little dog. I also like the idea of a search scene within a search scene. What is nice about this game is that there are several other smaller hidden search scenes within the larger one. That keeps it interesting.
The only drawback to me is that there aren?t those many locations to search. It?s more like a short ?Antique Road Trip.? It would have been nice if the game had covered more states. There were several locations in each state, but not really enough to sink your teeth into. Other games have used the idea of a road trip, but the locations in this are fairly flat and lack the depth that you?re used to in the other Boomzap games. If they put this on the same level as their other games, then it might be more interesting. If there were more antiques to buy and the shop was larger, then it could have stood out more. I don?t mind the simple approach, but the locations could be more robust.
Overall, I would recommend it if you enjoy a more straightforward hidden object game. I enjoyed it. I just wish there was a little more to it.

Busman's Holiday
Straight H0G with some puzzles, opportunity to achieve awards, timed and untimed, use money earned for selling items to refurbish and furnish an antique shop. There is no real story unless you think the parents and their son in law will get along better by the end of the homecoming. (Don't skip through the introductory scenes and judge for yourself. )
Similar to the first game in mechanic. Artwork has improved.
Okay -- so I don't sound too excited.
But I want you to demo the game. If you are in the mood for a game like this, I would say it is definitely better than some others. There's lots to do, it's bright and colorful, should afford quite a bit of play time.
It even has a strategy guide. I highly recommend you go through the tips. There is also a "help" option, and a tutorial option (which you need to choose and finish to get one of the awards). You can access help by clicking "menu" from within the initial play screen at the shop. You can access both the guide and help by clicking "menu" from within any H0G level screen.
There is a map, but it is not interactive -- this game is strictly linear as far as locations. You can shop anytime you have enough $$$. You have a pet dog, too. He will give you hints that recharge. You can even unlock a wardrobe for him.
Find a bone, get an instant recharge (do not collect bones if your hint button is available -- they are wasted). You are actually encouraged to use hints since there is an award for finding 30 bones, and an award for actually using 20 hints. Now there's a switch -- feel accomplished for not being able to find something without using a hint.
There does not appear to be a penalty for misclicks. A good thing since I did have to click more than once on some items.
Achievements -- they are not based on playing in timed mode -- even the ones labeled "quick find" apply in untimed mode. If you are interested in getting them, read through the list first.
In timed mode you get extra points ($$$) for completing a level quickly.
So you see, I didn't totally dislike this game, I am just tired of more or less straight H0Gs. But if that's your pleasure -- give it a spin!

Game Done
I loved the game when i played for the hour trial so i bought it. After a few hours i finished the game. thats all you can do. it says thanks for playing. i was so angry. i hate games where you finish and they basically say "hey thanks for paying money for 2 hours of gameplay" like i said its fun if you want only 2 hours of play but for anything else, forget it.

Kind of boring and then suddenly over
A straight up HOG.
The story was irrelevant. Some of the mini games were different from most other HOGs, so in that way there was a bit of a treat, but for the most part it was pretty straight forward. It seemed like it was building towards something, but no, it just abruptly ended. And it was a little shorter than I would have liked.
The one big drawback is that it has all the promise of decorating the new store, but no pay off. There are literally no decisions to make. You don't get to pick the wallpaper or cabinets, there is just one option, so you either buy it or don't.
That's what dropped it from a 4 star to a 3 star. But if you want something to play mindlessly, this is a good time.

Nice, Laid-Back Game
Graphics: The graphics are cartoon-based and they are very clear, bright, and beautiful. I thought it was a very good quality and everything messed well.
Music/Sound: The music and sounds were appropriate with the theme of the game but I have to admit the music can get a little annoying after a while but that may be because of the type of music.
Puzzles/HOS: Both the HOS and puzzles are good but they get repetitive because you go back to that same scene at least 3 times (more like 6 times) so you can see how boring it can get. But there is one scene that I loved and it had to deal with finding 25....PUPPIES! Puppies = awesome cute :) Another thing that was nice is that you have the choice of being timed or untimed so this can affect your game play.
Length: I finished the game in about 3 hours and 30 minutes but the length mostly depends on the player and how many times you want to keep playing.
Characters: The characters are the same from the first game but you can see a little growth.
Story: Grace's parents in Montana buy an antique shop in their hometown and they ask for their daughter and her husband's help in finding antiques in Montana, Wisconsin, and Louisiana. The story resembles the first game so there really isn't anything new.
Overall: The game is nice, just like the first one, but you can get bored with it. I really liked it because it's a nice difference from adventure HOG and you could kind of sit back and just collect antiques for your shop.

Old stuff is gold
I think part of you has to like the Antique Road show's and tv series like the Pickers to really enjoy this game. Its a good game that I have enjoyed along with my wife as well.

Let's Hit the Road Again
Fun game BUT it wasn't as good as the first, for the following reasons: there didn't seem to be as many places visited, you did not have any choices in decorating the antique store and--most disappointing to me--there was no option at the end of the game to locate all the hidden objects in a scene.

Sometimes you just want a hidden object games without all the running around and inventory. This is a good one.

Fun brain break
Sometimes there are objects listed that I am not familiar with by the name given. I like the variety of having both hidden objects & some puzzles. It is also fun to decorate the antique store.

It only took a couple hours to complete...
If I had paid more then the 2.99 special price, I'd be pretty unhappy right about now. As others have mentioned, it is a very short HOG and certainly not worth paying full price for.
