Different and fun Before I bought this I read a review on some game review site that called it "boring". It complained that you don't get to actually direct the cooking of the food or the serving or such. I thought to myself, I am going to like this game. And I was right. Your job in the game is to be management -- learn recipes, plan the menu, hire and train the staff, decorate the house -- and then the host(ess), seating tables. But you quickly learn that everything is inter-related. Customers get impatient if they have to wait long. The right decorations might help their patience but not if they don't get seated in time. If they don't get the kind of food they want they'll be upset. Cooks don't just need skill and knowledge they need decent equipment. Your decorating includes the tables in the restaurant -- how many of what kind will fit, and how will it work with what kind of customers are thrown at you? The happier your customers, the more money you make. The more money you make, the more you can improve things and workers. But it's a vicious cycle, and spending your money on the wrong thing can set you back. You really never "fail" this game, which is good, but a mis-step can make "winning" (completing all the goal stars) each restaurant take longer. Each restaurant starts with less and is harder to get up to speed. I keep coming back to this game every other month or so. It is really different than most of the other restaurant games out there. Unique gameplay The type of game this is most similar to is a Tycoon game; however, the gameplay is unique. Every day, you set up the day and add a bit more to the restaurant you're playing (of which there are six types). You learn recipes, you choose which things you'll cook each day, you train your chefs and wait staff, and you decorate. Once all this is complete, you start the day and watch your staff work The most unique part is the interaction during the day, which is more than any tycoon game I've played: You have to seat your customers, which means you need to squeeze all the tables you can into the restaurant during the setup phase (which can be challenging) and make sure you don't get distracted, as your clients will get frustrated at waiting. All of this leads to how many stars your restaurant has - You start with zero and can get up to five. I'm enjoying playing the game. It's a bit more relaxed of a pace than I am used to, so the challenge-level isn't so bad. If you do poorly, then nothing really happens ... you just go into your next day. The layout of the restaurants is a bit frustrating, as there isn't much space and I feel like I'm putting a jigsaw puzzle together. But it's fun learning new recipes, setting up the menu, and seeing my staff get better at running the restaurant. November 29, 2011
Good, but could be so much better Initially, I was really attracted to this game. I am a time management junkie, so I love anything that involves serving customers and customizing my own shop/restaurant/park/etc. This game is quite straightforward - you learn recipes, train your staff to cook and wait tables, create a menu, and upgrade your restaurant (of which there are six) with better equipment and new dcor. This is the cycle, and it was fun for a while until I realized that nothing new was really added to each restaurant I opened up. The restaurants do become more difficult as you progress, but only in terms of how much money you have to make, how little you start out with, and how much ingredients cost. Other than that, the only difference is the setting, which can also become boring after the first few levels. If this game were more customizable (i.e. make your own restaurant, have endless mode, have a wider variety of tasks or things that only occur in certain restaurants), then it would be more enjoyable. Though I did eventually finish, I didn't feel the need to ever open the game up again, so now it's been uninstalled. Fun for a couple hours, but kind of boring afterwards. I really hope there is a sequel in the works, though, as I think this game has good potential. Plus, who doesn't love running a virtual restaurant? Order up! December 5, 2011
Original and not stressful This game is very original and not at all stressful. It's more of a "tycoon" game than time management -- very much in the style of Restaurant Empire, but a lot simpler. I really enjoyed trying to guess which ingredients made up particular recipes from all the different countries. Also appreciated all the options available to customize my restaurants. I wish there were more games like this one, less clicky and more relaxing. December 27, 2011
Loved this game! I absolutely loved this game and was disappointed when I completed it. I wish there were more games like this one. It is a nice game to play when you want a game that is fun yet not too demanding. This game is kid friendly and is good for whiling away the afternoon. Getting expert on the levels is fairly easy, but the game still holds your attention. November 16, 2011
Good but not great I like this game, even if it is rather easy. It has a way of capturing the player that I really like. You're building a restaurant. Needing to hire and skill up chefs and waiters. Desiding how the restaurant should look like and have a variaty of wallpapers, flooring and decorations to do so. As well as discovering receipes and having to build better kitchen. I'd wish for more levels, or at least a chance to choose beginner/expert. And more than that I wish for a bistro boulevard 2! November 22, 2011
Fun Time Management Game! The only thing I don't like about this game is the background music. It could be better. The rest is just great. It's one of my favourite Time Mangement Games. There are different tasks to manage, I've often replayed it and I never got bored. November 16, 2011
Time Killer The Graphics are ok, The game it's self is pretty easy to get through. There is no real replay value once I finished every level. I really didn't want to continue the game any further. But it's good if just want to kill a few hours November 15, 2011
A REALLY Fun Game! I'm not really a fan of "managing" stores since I mostly played games which required me to serve customers directly, so I didn't know what I was thinking when I got this game. To my surprise, it turned out to be really fun. True, all I did was buy stuff, plan menus and seat customers, but it was cool; I'm still very involved in running the restaurant. The part where you have to guess the ingredients was a bit frustrating, but it feels great when you get it all right! I loved how I got to design the restaurants and how different cultures were featured. The only criticism I have is that the game is too short, and once you've got the hang of it, it isn't very challenging. There are also very few furniture, but believe me, once I started playing this, I cannot stop until I've gotten all thirty stars. April 17, 2012
DIfferent type of gameplay. This game is not extremely challenging, but the gameplay is unique enough to keep my interest for the entire game. It has some potential for repeat gameplay, but i did not find it challenging enough the second time around to play for very long. November 27, 2011
