Rainbows, stars, but .... no unicorns and flowers?? LOL
I really, really liked this game. From the start page to the exit there are stars and rainbows falling down all about you (yes, it does feel like it's happening to you) and making you smile. Along with the ambient music you can't go wrong with this game, except for....I'll get to that.
Game Play: If you play, or have played, those pipe connecting games - that's exactly what this game is all about, except the pipes are rainbow-colored. Connect the rainbow pipes before time runs out. That's it in a nutshell because that's all there is to the entire game. There are 6 clouds, each having "x" number of sub-levels. I don't know how many sub-levels there are because I quit after I got "game over" for about the 6th time. You'll understand more as you read on.
The rainbows, stars and clouds, of course - smile.
That there is no "relaxed, untimed' mode. There is no tutorial, just a one page "help" page. That there is no hint button to help newbies to this game. That when it's "game over" (as it was for me every time I got to level 1-3), you have to start at level 1-1 again and not the level you "died" on. No extra "lives".
Recommendations for game play:
Make a lot of really small (4 pieces minimum) connections rather than try to make a big one to be impressive or gain more points. Because there are more pipe/rainbow sections growing around you as you play and this can become dangerous to your game play as you go connecting and connecting and before you know it, time has run out.
NOTE: The beginning of your pipe sequence has to have a beginning and an end connection to whatever your building/connecting (so make a circle, square, squiggly pipe or whatever it turns out to be, but it has to connect to itself). I hope this makes sense because it's critical to your game play.
I want to say this game is "fairly easy" but it's really not. This is definitely a game of strategy and time management. It is timed, hence the "time management aspect. And the "strategy" part comes in the actual game play as I tried to describe above. And there's no time to stop and think about what you want to do, where you want your rainbow pipes to go - just get it done!
I would have LOVED this game if there had been a tutorial and, even more, a relaxed mode. For those reasons, and mostly the "no relaxed mode", this will not be a purchase for me. Makes me very say because it's a fun, smiley kind of game.
For those who play strategy games and time management games, I recommend this wholeheartedly. Others? Enter at your own risk - lol.
