Perfect for Children
My daughters tried several games for the hour trial... this was their favorite by far, and when I bought the full version for them, they literally hugged each other and danced around the living room. The play is easy enough for my 7 and 8 year olds, but also enough of a challenge that I am having fun with it as well.
The dragons are adorable, and the other critters are kind of ccute as well. When the first dragon got big enough to have flame, my daughter told it out loud that she was so proud. lol. I strongly reccomend this for family oriented play- children must be able to read so probably not younger then 6 or 7 depending on reading level, but once they can read the instructions I think they'll have a lot of fun with this. Mine do. There is a "story line" to complete, but the levels can be played indefinately without progressing and still be fun. They get to raise baby dragons and feed them. The dragons ggive gems that the kids can use to make jewelry. I have two girls... little boys may or may not be as engaged by this. I urge you to try it for an hour... I think after that you'll either know it's not right for your child, or (like mine) fall in love with it an dbuy the full version.

Definitely worth playing
I really enjoyed Dragon Keeper. While it was a tad short if you only played to attain "expert" on all the levels, and while the goals were fairly simple to attain, my second time playing I tried to get all the available upgrades for each section (including the "shop" items from defeating raiders), while still getting expert ratings. This wasn't nearly as easy, and really lengthened the game for me, and absolutely made the standard edition price worth it.
The only real criticism I'd have with DK was the fact that often the jewelry I could build would fill with the same piece, and all would either have pieces I didn't have gems for, or they'd be pieces that required gems I was hanging on to for goals. If the developers had allowed for more variety of options, I'd say this game was perfect.

Unique Gameplay
This game is excellent! Hatch dragon eggs, create jewelry, and protect your babies while working your way through the challenges. A little short, but is fun to play again!

Fun... BUT... only as a Daily Deal or Catch of the Week
I enjoyed playing this game. It reminded me of some of my favorite games.
My problem?
It was way too short!
I enjoyed buying the dragon eggs and raising them and clearing the cave. I even liked making the jewelry and beating up the thieves.
I would love to be able to recommend you buy this game, and I would if I were just going on the fun factor...
but I really don't feel this is worth the 'Standard Edition' price.

Way to short
If my hour trial had been a few minutes longer I would not have needed to purchase the game. Everything about this game is awesome, but the length. By the time you get used to playing and start enjoying the game it is over. I hope they come out with a second one and add about twenty more levels. Would not recommend buying this game due to the short length.

Playing it over and over
Ok this game is awesome! Everyone already writes in their reviews that its too short, and it is... but i still like to play it over and over again!
The levels are fun, you get to choose your own upgrades and the dragons are just adorable!
There are a few bugs in the game though... even though the food chef you get at one point is really helpfull for feeding your dragons, it also complicates the game a bit, because your cursor sometimes changes in food even though the dragon doesnt want it. This means youre not able to click on any gems under that particular dragon.
There are some hidden surprises in the game as well...
All in all, i love this game!!!

Very fun, very cute
This game is very very cute. Who wouldn't want to raise baby dragons? It also dosen't feel like "every other game" even though it has similar aspects. I loved playing this game, and I actually prefer this version to dragon keeper 2.

Suprisingly enjoyable
I don't normally buy time management games but this one's ratings got my attention. I found it addictive! Although aimed at younger players, the cartoon atmosphere of the old video games was very enjoyable. Hatching and caring for the RIGHT dragons for each chapter proved to be somewhat of a challenge. Lots of goals completed before you had to play a level (earn x amount, collect x amount) Nice that you have a chance to go back and play the chapters in order to get more achievement awards.

Could have been better..
It's not a bad game, but it's not really too good either.
CONS:
There is almost virtually no storyline. It's almost as if someone just had an idea for a storyline and jotted it down. The scenes are only 1-3 sentences long.
It is extremely short, and the only time you are challenged is if you don't buy any 'helpers' and do it all yourself.
The days are only 60 seconds long.
It's very finicky about where you place items; You cannot place items, even though there is plenty of room.
PROS:
The characters are very cute, and the visuals are pretty good.
If you don't have any helpers, there is quite a bit of challenge with keeping up.
You can choose whether to play leisurely, or try for expert and beat the time limit.
If you don't like storylines, there pretty much isn't one.
