Gravely Silent a pleasant surprise! I got this on a $4.99 special after buying another game, and thought it would take me a couple of hours to complete. I was wrong. Even though this isn't the Collector's Edition (which I kind of wish I had now), it took me a good four to five hours to finish this. It started off slow, and was kind of mad because I'd seen other similar types of scenes and HOS's before in other games, but once it started to pick up I was very happy. Also, I loved the music, especially at the tail end. I found myself turning up the volume instead of down (which I usually do out of annoyance). The storyline is actually what made this game good for me. The HOS's are pretty normal (although my eyes took time to adjust to the great hodge podge of clutter). The puzzles are just challenging enough. The hint button is very useful, and you can skip a puzzle pretty quickly if you realize you don't feel like fooling with it. All in all, I definitely give this one 4.5 stars! February 7, 2012
It was ... OK. I got this game because I like dark, spooky games. Well, this game wasn't as spooky as I had hoped. The game is somewhat linear; there's very little backtracking. The visuals were wonderfully done. The music was great, although at times it reminded me of the theme music from the TV show "Dexter." The storyline was unique and I liked that I had to solve several murders in order to rescue my sister from death. However, the hidden object scenes were basically junk piles and many of the items were difficult to find. You would visit each HOS at least twice. Some were easy while others had items that were too small or not readily visible. There were several times where I had to use a hint. The mini games were not exceptionally challenging, but they weren't extremely easy either. They were simple enough to figure out, which was good because the HELP button wasn't readily available in Expert Mode. You had to let it fill up just the same as the SKIP button. The game is of a decent length, but the ending is a little disappointing, but somewhat interesting at the same time. While you do get to find the culprit, you don't really get to interact with him at all. Overall, I would recommend the game, but not to beginners. While the storyline is enough to keep you interested in playing, the HOS are difficult enough to turn you away at times. November 30, 2012
Some good some bad . . . I thought the game played well in some sections, but some of the HO games were absurd, with completely hidden objects or objects so tiny you wouldn't associate them with the searched for object, example a rubric's cube not much bigger than a pea w/ only three colored sides to identify it? Many of the puzzles were OK, but no explanation as how they were to be played, I had the walkthrough up the entire game to figure out what I was to do in the puzzles, and finally a lot of unrelated looking for the step in the game with no hints as to where the step would appear in the maze of rooms. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this game:( It came so close to being very good. May 22, 2012
One of the better games Although not the best game, this is certainly not the worst I've ever played. It flowed nice from chapter to chapter. There are two modes to play on: casual and advanced. I played on advanced, which meant less sparkles and longer time for the hint and skip buttons to recharge. In both modes there is a penalty for clicking too much. I would have enjoyed this game much more if the HOS didn't involve such small items to look for. That's when I always needed to use the hint button. The puzzles are pretty easy, so I never used the skip button. To get instructions for the puzzles you have to click on the help button. I don't usually leave the sound on for long, but from what I did hear it went hand-in-hand with the game. I personally am glad that we read the dialogue rather than listened to it because too often the voice actors go way over-the-top. There really wasn't a lot of backtracking, which was really nice, so there wasn't a need for a map. The game flowed smooth and linear. All in all, a pleasant game that had a cool storyline. Great Story and hours of fun! I loved this game. The story was very good, graphics were great. Hard to explain, but the game is like a "main game" with quite a few mini games to explore. I love games that take a long time to finish. This has that and so much more. February 27, 2012
SURPRISED MYSELF With many of these games, I usually find myself using the walkthrough more than I like but with this game, it was just the opposite. The hint button (without being used up until you find an area within you need to investigate) will let you know whether or not you've got anything more to do AT THAT MOMENT while your task list can keep you abreast of what needs to be done. Between these 2 help aids, a player can usually keep on top of things of what to do and where to go and for me, THAT'S a BIG PLUS. I actually just used the walkthrough for a few puzzles -- there are certain ones that I STILL have no understanding of how to proceed while others were fine but just a bit time consuming. I had hoped for a more reactive ending but overall, this is NOT a bad game at all and I really enjoyed playing it. January 25, 2012
Fun fun but too short. I wanted more than another hour from playing the demo January 27, 2012
wish more games were like this one!! thought this was one of the best games i've played.the mini games were challenging but not frustrating like some.the hidden objects were pretty cool too.I couldn't stop playing .. December 6, 2011
Nice Little Game I enjoyed this game. I played on the easiest setting, as usual, and found it to my liking. The hint button guides you to where you need to be. The Skip button recharges quickly. The story line was entertaining. The graphics were well done. The music was not too annoying. My only minuses were that when I logged out and logged back in, it always put the Custom Cursor back on so I had to switch it off. Also the game crashed to my desktop at least three times during play. January 7, 2012
Yes, but no, but yes, but! My first review It was a really good long game, the side puzzles were enjoyable but for me it was ruined by searching for tiny tiny objects I would've enjoyed this game more had the HO not been so minute, i found that really annoying and hope that in future they take on board that there's a difference between challenging and down right frustrating and even with the hint i struggled at times I would recommend this game only if you don't mind sitting for ages trying to find tiny objects I don't play with the music on so i can't comment on that April 3, 2012
