Loved it! I did not get enough of this game! I'm still waiting on the sequel! come on!! i want it! great graphics great story. what else you want!? May 21, 2012
cursed somewhat repetitious in lifting curses, but nice graphics and not obtrusive sound. Kind of short and what's with the ending? To be continued? When till that happen? Overall, pretty good and I recognized Madame Leveau from an earlier BFG game. Not too spooky. March 22, 2012
Great Story, Poor Ending Voodoo Whisperer is a fun little game that will definitely allow you to get your fill of finding hidden objects. The story is that you play a girl with voodoo powers studying under Marie Laveau who is attempting to break the curse that has impacted both her own mother as well as New Orleans in general. I really liked the idea of the game, but it's way too big in scope for a casual HO, and that's evident in the fact that there are only a few locations for your character to travel to. The process is exactly the same in each one: you will go through several scenes, collect helpful items, use those items to create a doll to break a curse, and then follow the trail of the evil behind said curse. It starts out strong with the first chapter, but unfortunately goes downhill from there. The good news is the game looks great. The cutscenes are decent, the backgrounds are nice and realistic, but it especially comes through when playing the hidden object scenes. The items have tremendous detail, and the developers do a great job in giving you a list realistic to the time but by no means easy. Unfortunately, the sound is a bit of a downgrade. There is no voice acting, and the background music is marginal at best. Still, I appreciate the time it took to make those rendered scenes. Challenge level is okay. Once you've completed the first chapter or two, you'll breeze through the next ones easily, until you reach the abrupt and unsatisfying ending. I'm all for cueing you up for the next game, but how about a bit of payoff for the time spent? Minigames are repetitive and a bit of a bore to be honest. How many matching games can you do before you tire of it? Not many. Overall, this game is okay. I'd purchase it for the highly detailed hidden object scenes and if you really like HO hunts, but the story doesn't make the execution any better. The combination of a rushed, forced ending and the failure to make the voodoo recipes anything other than a rote "get this, mix that" formula make this one a curse. April 13, 2013
Awful Game This was too quick to finish. And the story line was awful. Waste of time and money. March 6, 2013
Totally Fun Great New Orleans locations Save the Voodoo Legend Marie Laveau HOS scenes are photo images...easy to see and mostly from the period Find the items to make potions, powers, curses and voodoo dolls Adventure has a sense of being well researched. Outdoor, indoor scenes with great sound and good story. May or may not be a follow up story but that is okay. No voice overs Very fun March 1, 2013
Almost Great! First, the story is good, the scenes are very interesting and engaging, even if the drawing of the characters is a little goofy. The HOS's are definitely challenging, and you really do need the magnifier at times, even the hint button because some of the objects are so very well hidden as to be impossible to discern. You really need the custom cursor, as well, because if you don't use it, there is no clue as to what you should be looking at, or where you should be going. My complaint, if I'm correct, is that there doesn't appear to be a follow-up game that is promised at the end. I bought this a couple of years ago, and I still don't see the sequel to let me know what happens to my character! Come on, now! February 19, 2013
Love this one! This storyline pulls you in and you're drawn into the world of magic and mystery in great old New Orleans. Say no more...get ready for spooky hidden object fun! December 30, 2012
good game but shorter than some i liked the game. the hints charged fast and it was a HO and adventure game. the hints tell you where to go but a few times i had to go to the walk through to find out what to do next. some of the things didn't seem to be what i thought they should be so i tried all the inventory when i got stuck. you mix potions to get through the game and i was surprised by the ending. it didn't take too long but i enjoyed the game. don't know about sound. didn't play it. This is a favorite It's one of the best one's I've played. There were certain parts where I got completely lost. Its more challenging then other games. November 18, 2012
Dissatisfied Frustrating at times; HOS not easy to see, often items didn't show up well and difficult to find. Unhappy with ending; it hints that now if you want to find out how it ends you have to purchase part II! It was a waste of money, in my opinion. November 5, 2012
