A good play Quirky situations, but a fun play. Help comes to you from a well-dressed frog on a toadstool. I like the fact the hint is enough to head you in the right direction, but still makes you use your grey matter. Just enough challenge to keep it interesting. January 19, 2012
I had higher expectations THE GOOD: The artwork and graphics are fantastic!! Fairly long game. THE BAD: So much back and forth from scene to scene just to do one thing at a time. Most of the puzzles (when you finally get to them) require you to leave it to find a missing piece before getting to solve it. Some people may like this type of mouse hunt, I personally enjoy the games with more clever aproaches. The H.O.G. were challenging, but the last couple of items in each scene seemed to be impossible without using a hint, and when I did I thought to myself "I would've NVER have seen that without it". THE UGLY: Honestly, I don't care for how far down on the screen you have to click to go backwards. I know this sounds petty, but i continuously brought up the inventory box and had to wait for it to go back down until I could find the right place to position the cursor. It just irritated me a little. OVERALL: It had wonderfull images and decent story, but I guess I'm spoiled by the craftsmanship of games like the Mytery Case Files series. If you don't mind any of the things I've mentioned, then you'll probably enjoy this one alot! Otherwise, try the demo. January 2, 2012
Mystery Trackers: Raincliff Great storyline. Reminds me of Dire Grove. Love the live actors with audio. Wonderful scenery, plenty of puzzels, lots of backtracking to find objects needed, HOG's, beautiful music. A true mystery finding the missing people. Great fun and a definite buy for me. Don't miss this one A long adventure game with great graphics and a good storyline. Not too many HOG scenes, and those are well done. Lots of back and forthing, and I found it necessary to take notes, as I played the game over several days, and would forget what area needed what item. A map would have been useful as there are so many locations to remember. I love the achievements for not using the hints for HOGS or the skip for puzzles. Keeps me from giving up. Most of the puzzles are fairly simple, but a few are very tough, and one was really frustrating because it didn't have a reset button. I broke down and checked the walkthrough for that one. This game has lots of eerie atmosphere, but nothing really gruesome. Loved it. December 10, 2011
Bad Program Only did the trial and every thing I clicked on needed a key or a tile or something but never got anywhere to find needed items. The three HO I came across were not of much use in getting needed items. June 16, 2012
Amazingly good game This game has everything. Exquisite graphics, great cutscenes, terrific music, a really good storyline, but no voices overs (but no one talks to you anyway). There are achievements as well. It has 3 modes of play-casual, advanced and hard. Only minus there is no map. The HOs are bright and usually have 1 or 2 items that are harder to find. The puzzles range from average to somewhat challenging. They can all be reset or skipped. Lots of work to do within the story, finding, collecting and using this and that. The game length was above average for me, meaning it took me longer than what I consider a good length of play time. Overall this is a great game and offers a great challenge to all levels of player. I highly recommend this game. January 20, 2012
Wish there was a Collector's Edition Hi All. Raincliff has a good story line. Quite a few puzzles. If you are looking for logic, it will be disappointing (i.e. you need a spring, go to a watchmaker's and no spring there?). Odd ending which is why I wish they had a collector's edition with more game play so it made sense. It took hours to play, which I like in a game. All in all it was enjoyable to play, but I have played better ones. January 9, 2012
Wonderfully done, great, engaging game. Minor bumps. There are so many things done right in this game, it seems almost churlish to mention what could have been done better. The overall feeling is that no expense was spared in making this game. From lush music to live-actor film sequences, this is in most respects an exercise in how to do games right. There are many pluses to this game. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from, tailoring the game to the users' comfort level. Hidden object scenes are crystal-clear, with no shady practices (making objects virtually invisible by over-using darkness, fuzziness or transparency). Hidden-object games are largely language-based games. Language is used perfectly here, with no faulty English obscuring goals or meaning. Unfortunately, there is no journal or task list to remind me of what I had previously found, or what I was currently looking for. This is especially a problem because the puzzles are spread out and overlapped. I found myself usually carrying around about 10 objects at once, having forgotten what I was looking for and what I was supposed to do with them. Furthermore, while some objects were obvious in their use (paint for a canvas), some were not at all and left me scratching my head. Thankfully, the game-play hints were very helpful, but I found I had to rely on them quite often. The layout is very convoluted and there is no map, nor are areas deactivated when you have done all there is to do there. This resulted in a lot of back-and-forth and wandering around, which is okay in small doses but became tedious after a while and left me using the hint quite often just to save the annoyance of wandering. I feel that these decisions on the part of the game designers were intentional, to give the player a feeling of disorientation, but ultimately, I think they backfired. Perhaps this is a minor complaint, but the music was disconcerting, and not in a good way. What there was of it was great, but it played only for a few moments after the live-action shots and then went quiet again for long stretches. It just seemed strange. Still, for the most part this is a fun, gorgeous game, with beautiful design, fun and varied puzzles, and an interesting story. December 12, 2011
Interesting story and Game I love most of the hidden object games that I get from this site and this one was no different. The mystery of the Raincliff students in this game was interesting and creepy and added to the fun of the game. Along with it, the game itself was more challenging than some that I have played in the past. Very much worth it! December 9, 2011
No doubt Its Worth Buying! There's nothing bad about this game everything was A1 the thing I most enjoyed was the realization of the actors & the scenes as you play through the game lots & lots to do and not too hard, just need to think a little unrealistic to work out the solutions on the other hand some of the puzzles for me took too long so I skipped but that's just because I have no patience. Enjoy!!!!!! April 10, 2012
