Pretty decent game! It was actually pretty creepy. I really enjoyed it! I definitely recommend playing it... its pretty twisted in some parts! February 19, 2012
FANTASTIC !!!! this is now one of my favorite game..played it for hours.can't say much about the sound, cuz i turn the sound down.i got stumped a few times and had to turn to the walkthrough for help, can't say anything bad it was GREAT !!!!! February 16, 2012
Worth it It was a good game, fun and entertaining. December 4, 2011
Awful This is the worst game I have ever played. The hints are the worst. I have gptten stuck several times and had to go to a forum for help. January 2, 2012
UnBelievable! Excellent! Perfect! Oh my God, this game was PERFECT in every single way! The locations were beautiful, clear, interactive, living & breathing, easily navigated, interesting, cozy & each one different from the other (Hotel, Photo Shop, Grave Yard, Train Station, etc...) While at first some of the locations seemed like they were just background, eventually you could find a way to enter them! This was so fun & cool once you discovered the way. The Storyline was Top Notch. Slightly familiar, but with enough of a major twist that it kept things fresh & interesting. There were people to interact with, plus very good voice-overs. This meant you never once got that lonely, solitary feeling. Navigation was a breeze & you almost always knew where to go next. I only needed a couple of nudges later on in the game. There were just the right amount of HOS & all of the objects were fair, clear & easy to find. The HINT system worked just fine & recharged fairly quickly. There were some nice creepy surprises, such as specters in the keyhole, ghosts in the mirror & codes appearing in developed photos. Overall I give this game a Perfect score, a huge jump from the series last "Wax" title. I can't wait to see more greatness from this development team! August 12, 2012
good game but... Not a bad game. The graphics are good and so is the music. The HOS are different is that you have to use items in the scene to complete other items there also. Not hard. The puzzles can be hard and the problem with me is the skip button takes forever and I mean forever. Has a pretty good flow to the game. May 18, 2013
That only works in the movies-- Enough Already! I did not hate this game but the sarcastic rebukes got tiresome. Good aspects; HOS very clear and relevant to location. Plenty of interesting locations Puzzles were enjoyable Unfortunate aspects: For some reason there was a sort of constant unrelenting gloom and nothing humorous just sad I had to force myself to finish because I didn't care about the characters Creators need to spend some time developing the characters so you care a bit about them Story was ho hum March 14, 2013
Excellent game! The only reason I did not give this game 5 stars is because it did not contain anything really unique. That being said, it is a very good, very solid game: diverse scenes (although on the macabre side), great story, great graphics, diverse puzzles, good length. There is not a hard core option, which I prefer, but the game is good enough that I did not mind the sparkles, and I did end up using the Hint button a few times. I prefer a map that indicates an action can be taken, so I can figure it out what it is on my own, but I would highly recommend this game to any level of player. February 3, 2013
Illogical flow to game made this frustrating This game had good potential but illogical and nonsensical game flow ultimately reduced the enjoyment for me and created a somewhat frustrating experience. The graphics are good. The music is acceptable. There are not a great deal of voice overs and scenes to watch which is nice. The scenery is generally good if a bit dark and uninteresting. there are several mini-puzzles some relatively easy to quite difficult. The HO scenes had two levels - you had to find certain items that were used to create or uncover the second level of items. This is not a bad format in general and can make HO scenes more interesting and complex. In general, I like this type of variation however the pairs of items (how one item relates to and/or uncovers or creates the second item) must make sense and be logical pairs. Otherwise, it's very frustrating and you just end up randomly clicking on various things because there is no logical link from the object you are holding to the object you are supposed to pair it with. For example, in one HO, I picked up gift wrap. This was supposed to be placed on another item to make a wrapped present. After a ridiculous amount of time I essentially clicked on everything until a present finally appeared. What was the item I clicked on? It was the bottom of a coat rack. Can someone explain how the bottom of a coat rack plus gift wrap gets you a wrapped present? Nonsense. The flow of the game is also not ordered or logical. The diary that records your actions, keeps notes and desribes the story. However, it discusses places and objects you have not necessarily seen or found yet even though it talks as though you've already discovered them (counterweight in treehouse by butcher shop#. This is pretty frustrating. The Hints are for the most part useless if there is an unfinished task in a given scene. For example, when you hit the hints button, it will circle a mini puzzle you haven't completed yet. However, you can't even start the mini-puzzle until you find the missing tile. It would be helpful if the hints actually pointed you in the right direction to find the tile instead of just pointing out a mini-puzzle that you obviously know you have to solve but can't do that until you find the tile. End result = useless Hint function. This resulted in several instances where you had no idea what to do next and ended up either randomly walking around hoping something would suddently present itself #time consuming and annoying) or, in my case, I finally gave up and resorted to finding the walkthrough on BFG's website. Any time I'm forced to leave a game and find hints to continue immediately reduces the quality of the game and my enjoyment. I'm not saying it should be ridiculously easy but a certain logical and intelligent game play should be enough to continue progressing through the game. This game has a few redeemable qualities but overall was not a satisfying experience for me. If you can get it for free or on sale I'd buy it but would not recommend it as a full price purchase. NO COMPARISON TO WAX BEAUTY Review based on one and a half hours of game play because I could not tolerate the "that only happens in movies", "I could sure use a tool right about now", the music and the absence of animation/vos. Tedious, boring and annoying. Not a game for me. December 18, 2012
