Great game! Great game! I love games like it! Nothing to say! November 12, 2011
Dissapointed in this one I just don't like games that when you find an object and use it, it doesn't work because you've done it out of sequence. You have to do a puzzle or find something else before it will work. The hint works when you place an object on top of it -- to show where it goes. And even if you are correct, it won't go until you find something or do something in proper sequence. This is to be expected with some items and in most games, but not to the extent of this game. It makes playing frustrating at times. I did not finish the demo which is rare because of this. January 10, 2012
Entertaining This is just one of the best games I ever have played November 20, 2011
good time One of the better puzzle/search games. Good graphics and challenges. November 15, 2011
Boring and Uninteresting I am not too sure how this game managed to get such high ratings. To me it's only worth 2.2 stars [on my scale] and recommendable to only fans of HOGs. In fact, here, we should say HFOG in which FO stands for Fragmented Objects. Snag is... many of these FOs are in fact UFOs. The HO Scenes are sharp, well drawn and richly colored but much too cluttered for my taste. Too many fragments are hardly recognizable and/or so well buried that I couldn't find them. The generous Hint System helped a lot but that didn't make me happier. I may have lost a few brain cells overnight for there were a few things that I didn't quite grasp, for instance: - the theater burned down completely, totally devastated, so you expect to have to navigate in a heap of ashes, among charred beams, holes in floors, collapsing black remnants of walls and all sorts of debris falling on your head. Well, no, not at all. Each location is clean, neat, colorful and nearly brand new ! Or maybe I wasn't in the right place..... - a novelty [though not that novel because you find it in other games]: special powers like "vision" [!!??]; I haven't yet figured out what they were for since I never got a chance to use them. Apparently they are automatic. Puzzles ? Few and far between, with some originality, but childishly simple -at least in the demo. Simple too, the tasks you have to accomplish. And they are not different from those of many other games. 30 morphing objects [more objects to find... !! ] which replenish your hints faster... if you can find them, that is.. I didn't see a choice of modes, and I found the challenge level very low. As for the music, I turned it off, it hurt my eardrums and got irritating very rapidly. I would have preferred the sweet twittering of... a nightingale So what's left ? The artwork: splendid. The voice-over at the start: good. Navigation: straighforward and you have a map. 6 long chapters [7 in the CE]. A ghost that's not friendly at all. A corpse in perfect condition (after a fire ???). And some sort of madman going beserk. Don't ask me how the storyline is like, I doubt it's of any interest and I will never complete the game to let you know. I am sorry not to follow the other reviewers on this one, but, no thanks, this game is definitely not for me and I cannot recommend it. December 24, 2011
A satisfying adventure, but too many hidden objects This game was very calm overall and had beautiful graphics and presentation, just like all the other "Blue Tea Games" so far. The things I liked the most were: The graphics, beautifully drawn and completely flawless; The story was different and really well told, almost like watching a movie; The characters were well explored and very interesting; The music wasn't intrusive but I thought it wasn't half as good as the music from "Dark Parables"; The overall setting and ambiance was extremely well achieved; The worst things for me were: I thought that there were too many hidden objects scenes and I always get really frustrated when that happens, because it makes my gaming experience something completely annoying; I think the game is not worth the extra CE price not only because the bonus chapter was short, but because you spend practically 90% of its time in HO's scenes and also because by the end of it, you end up not actually discovering what was Darcy all about; Here comes the HO's again: At the climax of the game, in order to get everything over with, you had to spend your time in hidden objects scenes. Again. Overall, "Curse of the Nightingale" was a different experience, but for me it ended up being an annoying one because there were tons of hidden objects. For the HO's game lover, it's probably a perfect game, but for someone who gets easily bored with them, it isn't. February 23, 2013
Fun from start to finish I am an avid HOPA gamer and love Elephant the best. This game has lots of super locales. A fascinating story and it is adventurous right to the end. Puzzles were challenging but solveable. I also liked how the individual characters "came to life" sometimes. Scenes would sometimes show you how they were in the past. Really inventive. You will have fun with this game. Also good graphics in HOS. Recommend February 7, 2013
My Favorite Game of All Time IMO, this is the best casual game I've ever played. The graphics are breathtakingly gorgeous. The music is fitting and memorable. Unusually, the characters have depth and you care about what happens to them--you get emotionally involved as the story proceeds .Best of all, the plot makes perfect sense within the folklore/fairytale universe it creates (borrowed from the ballet Swan Lake). Unlike so many other HOGs/FROGs, the game never descends into convenient and often incoherent supernatural plot twists to keep the story going. This is the crowning work (so far) of a superb developer. February 2, 2013
Beautiful Story and Music Maybe it is just me, but I truly enjoyed the music in this game as well as the graphics. Yes I played it to the end as well as the bonus chapter. No there are not a lot of challenging puzzles, but I really did not mind that because sometimes games can go overboard with those and make them so hard I want to pull out my hair. This game runs along the lines of the black swan, a jealous competitor gets rid of the star and puts the blame elsewhere. It is not overly difficult to follow and for those with more experience in this genre of games might find it too easy. I love the FROG's they are my favorites to play. At least try the game and decide for yourself. January 3, 2013
Love it! I love the story, graphics and HO's. I played so far about 400 games and still some of them amaze me. I couldn't figure out who was the culprit until the end. December 29, 2012
