I Loved Love Chronicles the Sword and the Rose This little gem of a game kept me entertained for quite a spell! Not too many junk piles and there were lots of puzzles (which I like). The artistry was very beautiful and the music set just the right mood. Please make more of these because some of us get tired of horror stories. November 30, 2011
Pretty Average *** I?m kinda sorry I bought this one, although there?s nothing terribly wrong with it, and there are a lot worse games around, even on my own computer. The introduction was a bit sappy, but I expected that from a game with Love Chronicles in its title. The game itself wasn?t a romance at all. It was your typical fairy tale storyline, admittedly. Handsome prince (that?s you) rescues beautiful princess from evil witch. But there the romance ends. And for most of the game, there is no real feeling of pursuing a goal. It took quite a bit of digging around before the first HO scene appeared and you could start feeling you?re achieving anything. After that the gameplay was well paced, and a decent length. The visuals are passable but not up to par. And the HO scenes have much of their colour washed out, making for uninspiring searching. The music bugged me too, it didn?t add anything to the atmosphere and became repetitious. There was no voiceover, and no interaction with other characters, little animation, all of which made the game feel a bit flat. There are plenty of mini-puzzles and HO scenes, none of them too taxing, and some variations of the ?find 20 roses? kind. For some reason (the previous Love Chronicles maybe?), the hero is required to make a lot of weird inventions to progress in the game. Really couldn?t see the point myself. On the plus side, outside HO scenes, the hint was a direction to the right location, which I thought was a good in-between help, neither too much nor too little. There was also a scene where you panned around with cursor hover. I like cinematic touches. As I say, nothing terribly wrong with this one, and others may enjoy it, but not inspirational, which is why I won?t be recommending it. January 18, 2012
Even Better Than the First One! I really enjoyed the first game in this franchise, and I have to say this one is even better. Like the original, this is a fragmented object game, but there are more mini-puzzles than the original. Very fun game to play. The graphics are beautiful, the fairy tale story is engaging, and the music is nice. The game length is good, and seemed longer than the first game in the series. I am looking forward to the next release! November 29, 2011
Decidedly Fun & A Great Escape I enjoyed this more than the first I played in this series, which was Love Chronicles: The Spell. The creators took this game up a notch on almost every level. Beautiful graphics. The story line was entertaining, but I think I preferred the storyline in The Spell more. That said, the storyline in this game was entertaining and perfect for the kingdom the player explores. Mini puzzles were a bit more challenging and I found myself hitting the Skip more than I would have liked, but not after thoroughly enjoying my attempts to get the puzzle solved first. As with the other game in this series, I found I did not want to leave the computer - choosing, instead, to continue moving forward to new adventures and meeting each colorful character you discover throughout the land. The game is designed to pique your interest with ingenious challenges, gorgeous landscapes and imagery, enchanting music, and mini rewards throughout the game that I found delightful and original. Tough Enough for a Great-grandma I like games that are pretty logical in their movement from place to place, and I particularly like a game that has hints that will tell you where you need to go next. I play for relaxation and enjoyment, not to get a headache trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do next. This game fit the bill for me, but might not be challenging enough for the really serious player. February 24, 2012
2nd in series - different but good This is the 2nd in the series and if you are expecting the same sort of game, you won't find it here. The 1st game had you collecting items to wake people from a deep sleep. This one is much more similar to other HO games. There are lots of puzzles, most are fairly easy. The HOs are mainly searching for one particular type of item (chess pieces, thread, etc.#. Some of the HOs you collect items, and then assemble them to create a needed item which is kind of fun. My only complaint is the HOs are fairly monochromatic which can make them difficult. The graphics are beautiful, the storyline ok, music ok, no voice-overs, no map #but not necessary). The notebook is used to record combinations, etc. The game is a good length and actually fun. I was looking forward to a game similar to the 1st, but overall I enjoyed the game. I recommend this game. January 7, 2012
Not bad. Fun and easy. Game was fun, not very difficult. One of the things I like about this particular game is that instead of finding a single, useful object in every hidden-object scene, you?ll find multiple objects which you then assemble into creative devices. These devices are Rube-Goldberg-ish fantastical inventions, so that?s fun. March 14, 2012
Rather short but great while it lasts! I really enjoyed this game. I would have liked the puzzles just a little tougher but all in all, a few hours well spent on a cold, windy day :-) November 13, 2011
Couldn't stop playing Excellent game. The story line was wonderful and the graphics too. November 27, 2011
Can't Wait For The Next One This is similar to the first game, but even better. They added really challenging puzzles and also Hidden Object Scenes where you did have to find things on lists. They did not make it so easy to tell you what you should do. It made me think about where I should go and what I should do. Like the first game, you also had to do a certain sequence of actions to get a desired result for your main character. I did have to use the Hint button a little bit just to figure out what room I missed finding an important object in it. I would say it was a longer length then the first game. The storyline did lose one point because it had some typos in the journal entries which should be checked for before releasing a game. Spell check was invented on computers for a reason. :) Other than that I really liked this game and it was really fun to play. I can't wait for the next game in the series. Hopefully this prince will find true love for himself and help get rid of the evil witch once and for all. April 4, 2012
