the superb graphics are worth the purchase price this hidden object puzzle adventure tells the story of an island kingdom terrorised by an evil witch. the witch has scattered petals from a magical rose throughout the kingdom, causing chaos, but you, a handsome prince, can restore order by collecting the petals together, rescuing the princess and beating the witch at her own game. graphics: absolutely gorgeous, detailed, crisp and super-realistic, the graphics alone are worth the price of this game. hidden objects were appropriate to the story. hidden object scenes mostly relied on shape recognition since the scenes were primarily shades of sepia. in some hidden object scenes, you collect scattered pieces of various whimsical devices that you then assemble before using to make progress in the adventure. sound: the music is quiet and matches the ambiance of the story. sound effects were minimal. storyline: straightforward and unadorned plot; nothing spectacular. gameplay: hints recharge quickly and there is an overclick penalty. puzzles, which can be skipped, are easy but still fun. not much back-and-forth. the notebook is lovely and provides useful clues. no map (but it's not really necessary). my interaction: one hour demo. i plan to purchase this game. enjoyable and absorbing, this lovely game is fun for the entire family. Visually my kind of game! Since I realized that how a game looks overrides how good of a story it has, let me just say that I love this game! The story starts out promising but then just sort of falls flat and never really picks up until the end. Which, by that time, is too late for those who demand great storylines from their games. But I'm just a casual player who plays for recreation and relaxation and want to enjoy looking at every scene I come across. With that said, this is just a gorgeously rendered game done in mostly pastel shades. I was sold from just looking at the preview and the thumbnail of the sleeping tree, but being a wise consumer, I always play the one hour trial and read the reviews prior to buying. And I wasn't disappointed. There's so much whimsical attention given to this game with the above said tree and the house with the moving legs, for example. And the hidden object scenes are a combination of the traditional scattered kind, a certain number of same item, and fragmented objects to be assembled to make larger objects. The puzzles are varied and challenging and each colorful scene is just a joy for me to sit and stare at. I almost feel like I am looking at pictures from an art gallery. The colors are muted and understated which make the game stand out from others and it was such a satisfying experience to play. September 23, 2012
Good Quality Game Game was challenging, but not complicated, e.g. didn't require a lot of running around back and forth. Was heavy in puzzles and lower in hidden object games. Hidden objects games were fairly simple. Good story and quality graphics. No voice. Will likely buy the next one produced. April 13, 2012
My kind of game If you are looking for a challenge this might not be the game for you but if you like a good combination of storytelling, puzzles and finding you will enjoy this game. March 11, 2012
Loved it I played the hour trial. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the challenge of the game. The story was good and graphics beautiful. I found it very fun, engrossing and pleasant to play. February 14, 2012
Get Lost and Found! I loved this game, and like a kid with a favorite piece of candy, I ate it up all at once. This game's best feature are the visuals -- they are vivid, clear, and often just creepy enough to keep you peeking around the next corner. The difficulty level is pretty consistent in its mildness, though there are a couple of specific puzzles that had me scratching my head. The storyline is detailed but not very original. Even so, there's a distinctive eerie quality throughout the whole game that kept me really engaged! September 9, 2012
"LOVE" Chronicles: No Romance Here Wow, did I ever get taken in by the title of this game. There was no love interest or romantic storyline whatsoever, so I have no idea why it's called "Love" Chronicles. It's just a poorly developed fairy tale that just got worse as the story progressed. * Characters have no substance or personality, so I found myself not caring what happened to them. * You get a quick overall description of the basic story and then you just start solving tasks. * Dialogue is poorly written. I got the feeling I was reading some middle schooler's English composition. * No voiceovers, which added to the tedium. * There were a lot of minigames which was great, but I skipped half of them because instructions were vague. * Graphics were okay, but nothing outstanding. * Gamplay was fairly linear -- you really couldn't get lost. And the hint button quickly recharged so I didn't have to think much if I didn't want to. * It's not the worst game I've ever played, but I'm thankful I paid only $2.99 for it. September 5, 2012
excellent game I played on expert mode, great level of difficulty for an intermediate player. The graphics were very nice even if a little dark, but no over the top creepiness if you're tired of the horror stories. Many HO scenes require you to put a contraption together after you find all the parts, which adds something fun and different. Hints are very helpful, if you're not in the right scene they'll show you a picture of the scene you need to get to and accurately direct you to the next action. The game is hardly a sappy love story thank goodness, I'm not sure why it's called Love Chronicles at all, but more so a prince trying to free an island from a witch's black magic. The journal is helpful and really pretty, like a scrapbook, although it's out of order at times and shows things you haven't even done yet. August 12, 2012
Really Fun HOG Fun game and story. Less HOG then most. February 3, 2012
Too many mini puzzles The graphics were good, the music was good, but you better like mini puzzles because the game consists almost entirely of them. I used "skip" quite a bit. They aren't my favorite part of the games. The game was made quite easy (except the mini puzzles) by the help you get throughout the game. Anyway, it was good entertainment. September 6, 2012
