Jewel Quest
The first game in the jewel quest series. Gameplay requires turning all tiles to gold. Story progresses by way of journal entries using hand-drawn graphics and handwritten notes. Nice progression of boards with increasingly difficult challenges. No option to disable timer, so some boards require multiple tries to master.

Hooked on Jewel Quest
I was introduced to the Jewel Quest series by a friend and started with Seventh Gate. I played all the newer ones and loved them but avoided the first two because I thought they would probably be clunky and not live up to my expectations.
Wrong!! While the original Jewel Quest is pre-Pack family and the graphics are not as nice, the Jewel Boards are VERY challenging. Since there is no lateral move into an empty space, I would go so far as to say that some of the boards are more difficult than recent ones. You aren't going to whip through this is a couple of hours and be looking for something to do again. Plan on days (assuming a few hours a day, not 12). It's fun, it's challenging and you more than get your money's worth.

The ORIGINAL AND THE BEST
I just love this Jewel Quest. I have had it for years and when I accidently delete it from my computer I go looking for it again...It's quietly challenging and very peaceful :)

First in a series of brilliant games.
The original puzzle, still has great appeal and is challenging enough to keep you playing through to the end. Definitely recommend it!

Fun Match 3
The first of the series, Jewel Quest is an excellent match 3 game to play on those rainy afternoons or just when you want to kill time. The game is basic match 3, there are no HO scenes or story scenes. The story progresses by journal entries that you can read if you want. They don't have any impact on the game. This is a very low tech game. If you are used to high speed, lots of flashing lights during a game, this is not the game for you. Great game for beginners.

A classic
I recently started again with the first Jewel Quest and i must say it's still a great game.
The first passage may not be that difficult but than the game just kicks in and you will have a harder time and have to think your moves through.
It's fun ,it's long ( 180 levels) and if you want to finish it you will have to use all your skills
Try it !!

Can't beat Bejweled 3
Jewel Quest was jerky, the cursor didn't move smoothly or quickly, and the graphics were ho-hum. The story was annoying.

Awful game
If you want to play the game forever. Buy It.
I hate this game. Finally made to level 9. I will not waste my life on this game any more. I have been trying to win this game for 2 years now. I would not recommend this game to anyone. Save you sanity and do not buy it. I am unistalling this game and throwing away the cd.
