Grim Facade: Mystery of Venice 4.1 5 43 43
Venice Facade Love the game as it were many mini games that keep you wanting more. The graphics are clear and musicality was suspenseful. I enjoy the interaction with characters. One drawback is you instead of the area showing "clear" you keep returning to the same area, even though it said nothing more to check another area. I wish all the games would say "area clear" and you don't have to move on. It would also be nice to have a map so you can see your location and if there area any items to retrieve from previous areas. Overall, I will be playing this game again and recommending to friends. Grim Facade: Mystery of Venice Totally loved this game! It contained all of the features I enjoy - animation, VOs, adventure, HOs and puzzles. The storyline was wonderful. You had to collect ducats along the way to purchase items. HOs were good, not dark and some items were small but I've seen worse. In the HOs, be sure to colllect two fans to add to the hints. HOs are repeated but with different items to find. The fans will only appear in the first HO. There's a journal but no map. The hint button refilled quickly but offered no help in going from scene to scene. The only answer I received was there's nothing to do here now. Got to look for other Grim Facade games. The music was relaxing in some areas and peppy in others. I was able to complete this game without using the walkthrough. That's saying a lot for me! LOL July 31, 2012
BREATHTAKING Spectacular! The artistry is incredibly breathtaking. The mystery and characters fetching. The adventure you encounter while pursuing the villain shows the imagination of the creative team. The HOS are bright, crisp, clear and pleasing to the eye. Although the HOS are replayed, anything that is changed the first time it?s played remains changed in the subsequent scene. So you aren?t looking for the same objects. And the music is easily the best I?ve heard in any game. Two main scores (with at least one minor track): one for HOGs and one for the adventure portion - both are top-notch, apparently composed for Mystery of Venice, and fit the story perfectly. A couple HOGs have no music and I so wanted to shake my computer and blame it for not playing any. Puzzles are innovative with difficulty ranging from intermediate to more challenging. Animation is fantastic and clearly reflects what the character is saying. Voice acting is the weakest point but, for the most part, is very good (though it sounds like one actor plays the distraught husband, as well as the villain). Don?t forget to collect all coins because you will need everyone of them to buy needed tools. This is one of the most beautiful games I?ve ever played ? but then it is from ERS! September 28, 2012
Enjoyable Game I really enjoyed this game. It is set in Venice, the music was very nice, the story line was fun and the graphics were great. A couple of the mini games seemed almost impossible. I really liked the hidden objects scenes. All the objects were there, just nicely hidden instead of obscured by shadows. Plus you had to look for fans and ducats. I also liked the cursor changing depending on where you were in the game. This is one of the most enjoyable games I've played. June 10, 2012
Nice game I don't remember how many times I looked at this game before actually giving it a try. Played the demo and had to buy it. It was gooood. Nice length, many interesting locations, very nice graphics. Graphics and length mean a lot to me. Storyline was good, kept me going trying to find out where the daughter is. Locations are very authentic. I liked the little store where you can buy a few inventory items. Make sure you collect coins throughout the game. They can be anywhere. Be wise on your purchases. Minigames are fun and HOGs can be a little frustrating since objects can be teeny tiny or blend in perfectly, but overall I really enjoyed this one April 2, 2012
Enjoy The Old World Grandeur & Mystery Of Venice GAME COMPLETED MANY TIMES History is only a gondola ride away in this utterly beautiful and charming HO game. Even in the clutches of the plague, Venice looks romantic. At least, it does when drawn in the WONDERFUL HAND DRAWN GRAPHICS of ERS & DELIGHTFUL MUSIC. (Which, admittedly gets a bit repetitious eventually.) You are a DETECTIVE brought in the RESCUE two young women who have been kidnapped. Immediately, it becomes apparent that the criminal is aware of your arrival, and is doing everything possible to hamper your investigation. A MAN IN A MASK threatens you and warns you to ?stay out of Redemption?s path?. The VOICEOVERS are really just for the opening dialogues, but are reasonably well done. This is really HO Adventure, as there is few PUZZLES. The HO scenes are clear, objects are easy to spot and some are interactive. There are COLLECTIBLE fans to be found in each HOS, used to increase the number of HINTS available. Neither the HOS nor the PUZZLES is difficult. There were times, though, when I really had no idea what to do next. HINT was no use ?there is nothing to do right now?, and there?s NO MAP. The JOURNAL had nothing to offer either. An amusing addition in this game is the SHOPKEEPER, Giovanni. Giovanni just happens to have in stock the right item at the right time, for just the right price. So be diligent in accumulating those ducats. To date, there have been 3 Grim Facade games, and I love every one of them, but this one will always be my favourite. It just has this amazing atmosphere, and the STORY as it unfolds later in the game is really INTERESTING. I recommend this game! June 7, 2013
Grim Facade This game is visually moderately challenging as well as visually beautiful. November 13, 2011
Couldn't Help Getting Frustrated With This Game As much as I tried, and as many chances as I gave this game, I just couldn't. This gamehas given ERS studios another strike and with one more I'm not sure I'll be able to trust this developer again. As usual with this game, there are some brilliant graphics. ERS always puts a lot of time and detail in to them, and this game doesn't disappoint. The storylne is hands down the best part of the game. It's brilliant, the intro hooks you and you just need to know what happened. The game seriously needed a strategy guide as sometimes you had no idea what to do next and even if you used the hint, sometimes it wouldn't help. This really dragged down the fun rating and was utimately what made me give up on the game. The Hidden Object Scenes were a bit disappointing too. The objects were easy to find, and I liked how some of them were in groups, but ligh could easily got on the screen way too easily, and if I played in the dark I couldn't find them, so I had to tilt my computer screen forward, which really annoyed me. The one thing I find really weird about this game is the hint system. Really? You need to find fans to give you extra hints which I think is just ridiculous, and once you run out of fans you have to wait for the hint to recharge, which took a long time. While I liked Grim Facade: Sinister Obsession, this one just didn't cut it for me. I was very disappointed with the gameplay and this may be the game that finally makes me lose trus with this developer. July 11, 2012
Really good Great graphics and voice overs. Good length. HOS mostly clear, some interactive. Save your doucats and only buy when you really have to. Interesting characters, very life like. A fair number of creepy crawlies. March 15, 2012
Pretty sets, dull story This game began well -- in plague-ridden Venice a woman and her daughter have been kidnapped during a gondola ride. The husband/father enlists you, the Detective, to find and save them! You discover this has something to do with Redemption, a secret society. You have to solve lots of HO games and a few not-so-hard puzzles in some beautiful and bizarre locales -- but what does any of this have to do with those women or the secret society? This game lacks plot and character development, and the end wraps up quickly. Finally, there is something creepy in how the women are depicted. October 7, 2012
