Nothing is what it seems
I had a blast playing this game, magnificently done. All of you that have interest in mystery adventure with a little horror should consider playing this game.
The good :
excellent story keeps your attention from begging to the very end( by finding VHS tapes you reveal part of the story)
nice graphics, lots of interesting locations( almost every location has light and dark side, so basically by switching lights on or of you have two different locations in one)
challenging puzzles, mostly brainteasers
hidden object scenes- 2 types- standard( find listed objects) and one where you have to find right place for displayed objects
the bad:
no map
constantly consulting your journal for codes and similar
music is annoying, a bit monotone

Very Enjoyable Game
The best of this game is when scenes modifying (you have to do "something" for that) , returning to the past. The special effects are very interesting to see.
- Very good storyline
- Great locations
- Very sood sound
- Graphics are very well done, with care in details
- Several differents puzzles and HOS - not really challenging, but very entertaining and pleasant.

FUN!!!!!
I downloaded this as a demo and IMMEDIATELY opted to purchase it. It's a fun hidden object game! The way rooms change in the blink of an eye is amazing.

enjoyable
Has voice over and good graphics. The HO are not that hard and the hint button works well. Fun game to play.

Refreshing Central American theme
Spooky games are usually set in a haunted house, asylum, cemetery, etc. but this one is set in a deserted town that morphs into a creepy Central American village when it gets dark. This makes it even eerier than the typical game because it's such an unfamiliar setting.
Graphics have a grainy look to them and the music is not very good and seems out of place. A haunting soundtrack with Central American melodies and instruments would have added so much to the atmosphere! The morphing of rooms from modern day to the Central American village is very well done, though. The short videos that reveal the back story are great too.
Puzzles are very good. They're fun, more challenging than average and there's more originality compared to other games of the genre.

An Interesting Challenge
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It had everything, although the graphics were a little murky at times, the game play was clever and the storyline involving.
The voiceovers could have been a little better but generally this game had everything I like:
- two modes of play
- more adventure than Hidden Object Scenes
- challenging puzzles (shippable)
- many original concepts (morphing between light and dark)
- lots of area?s to explore but not too many as to be confusing
- lengthy playing time (about 5.5 hours for me).
I would like to give this game 4.5 stars but as there is no ?s I will give it 4 stars.
Well done Orneon, thanks BFG.

Secrets of the Dark: Temple of Night
Outstanding graphics and storyline. Animation adds to the ambience of the location. Rooms morph with change in lighting. Puzzles are excellent, varied, and challenging. Reasonably sized and well hidden objects match scenes. An interesting variation requires replacing items. Ending brings closure to the adventure, while opening the way for sequels.
Moving room to room required quite a bit of backtracking. Suggest taking notes to keep track of where you need to use an item once it is found. Appears CE may be worth considering, with two bonus chapters included.

Good HO Game
I liked the HO scenes. Most of the minigames were fun, but I found a few were a little hard -- had to skip them. The graphics were great, and the story was interesting. I did find the beginning of the game a bit monotonous, going back and forth from the hotel to the hospital to the police station. Once other areas opened up, the game play was more interesting. I was able to complete the game without having to consult to the walkthrough. All in all, a good game.

"Entertaining"
First let's say that story, characters, graphics and H/O scenes are well made. Now see the plus and the minus :
+ : morph rooms (day & night) / 2 mode (with or without sparkles) / the re-playable video on the diary / both HO-RO (hidden & replaceable object) / good length (about 4hrs no hints-no skip puzzle).
- : the so annoying music - no map
Be sure to click everywhere because the game have plenty of funny little animation...Meet for the sequel ;o)

Excellent Concept & Design
GAME COMPLETED A COUPLE OF TIMES
?What do you see when you turn out the lights?? Well in one small town what they see is a ruddy great Aztec temple complete with sacrificial altars. And your friend is the next cab off the rank.
It?s a wonderful idea, which the developers have pulled off expertly. Pull down the shades, close the curtains, and a whole new world is presented to you. Things you do in this world affect your daylight life and vice verso. Intriguing!
And, as it happens, very difficult. The light/dark thing does take a while to get a handle on, but it?s not the different gameplay that wore me down. It was just one of those games full of puzzles I can?t solve. They?re all well known, but are harder versions. It is disheartening, particularly seeing there is a time score, and each skip adds 30 mins to your time!
If it hadn?t been for the unreasonable difficulty levels of the puzzles I would have rated this one 5 stars.
The graphics were not works of art, but they were crystal clear, bright, and interesting. HOs came as lists and replace the objects. The replacement scenes were really fun; the results of your replacement showed flair and humour.
No voiceover for most of the game, but video cassettes (replayable) were well done and dramatic. The journal was a help, but I sure wish I could have had a map...
And I must mention the music. Excellent! Haunting and vitalising at the same time, far more upbeat than most. It did get a bit much sometimes, but it gave the game a unique atmosphere.
Gamers who like a challenge ? this one?s for you.
