Fast-paced and fun
Underwater scenes are beautiful. Hidden object scenes are fun as were the minigames. The adventure was a bit challenging, but there is a map that tells you which locations have tasksI to complete. I was able to complete the game with little difficulty.

Written Legends, Nightmare at Sea
This was a fun game. Not overly complicated, but enough of a challendge to make it interesting.

Most excellent!!!
The graphics were great. The puzzles were challenging but not so hard that they couldn't be figured out. I loved the audio of the pirates chants when entering his estate, it was a really good addition. It reminded me of Disney-land's Pirates of the Caribbean trip. There were different mini games also that I thought were a nice touch.

Adventure Game
For those who like more than HOGs, this is the game for you. Lots to do! As I get frustrated with trying to remember everything this game is not for me.
It does look like a very challenging game!

I enjoyed it...but
I really liked this game...but when it came time for the mini games (and I finished them) I wasn't given credit for finishing it...I was forced to hit the solve button. Not much of a story line...but I liked the music and the graphics. All in all...a real cool game.

Glitches
I only played the demo, but, anytime I tried to 'arrow' back the Inventory would always pop up - VERY annoying!! I found the graphics to be a little 'choppy'. The puzzles were very easy, surely too easy for the H.O.G. pro. But it would be a GREAT game for a newbie!

Not one of my Favorites
I bought this game based on the reviews and did not trial it, poor judgement on my part.
The story line was good, but thought the graphics could have been better.
the music would go off and on during game play, I don't always play with the music and decided midway through to just shut off the music. The characters were interesting and offered help throughout the game, but there are no VO's and I think they could have really added to the game.
The hint button recharged quickly, but was not very helpful outside of HO
There is a map, which is helpful, but not interactive, with a fair amount of back and forth it would have been a plus.
I found that when stumped I needed to look up the walkthrough as the hint would keep pointing out the area where you needed to do something, but you already knew that, not helpful in finding the object to help in your tasks.
I found the movements jerky at times, and would have to click or place a tool many time just right before I could get it to work.
The underwater scenes were done very well thought, and I enjoyed the games and HO scenes, Neither were too challenging but just right.
Although this was not my favorite game I did enjoy the storyline and the fact that it took place mostly underwater.
for that I'm recommending the game.

Pleasantly Surprised
This was the best one in a three game multi-pack. Essentially this is a low budget version of The Cursed Heart but it is still a page turner that puts many Large File Platinum Edition games to shame. Much better than The Mayan Prophesy in my opinion too.
Yaaahhhrrrr we be very happy me-hearties!

Love it!
I was entertained for several hours playing Written Legends: Nightmare at Sea. The graphics, the music, the story were superb! I love the fact that it has hints so if I'm stock in something I don't have to leave my game to find the walkthrough in a website. The objects were somehow easy to find. I love to play without stress and this game gave me a relaxing sensation after a hectic week of work.

The Malevolence of Davy Jones
With the lure of a 50% off sale and being a pirate fan, I chose to give the trial version of this game a try. I was so engrossed by the game that it was a complete shock when my hour ran out. It will definitely be worth the price to continue and finish the game.
Some of the music was eerily similar to POTCO which I've played for many years. The rest was calming and appropriate for an underwater adventure. I appreciated the lack of voice-overs while interacting with characters. I prefer to read the text at my own pace.
The task log and map are very helpful. However, I did have issues with use of the Hint button outside of HOS. It led me to task completion areas and not to the missing links that I was seeking. There were 6 HOS during the first hour alone. I would rate them as being easy. Nothing is hard to find or hidden slightly off-screen.
The ocean creatures were a welcome touch and I had a giggle at the pilot character being named Janeway. :P
