The Missing: A Search and Rescue Mystery Collector's Edition
WHAT DID I MISS?
This was an OK game; nothing really special about it.
It would have been really nice for the map to have been interactive to alleviate a lot of going back and forth. The hint button showed where you needed to go next, but not how to get there. I had to use the strategy guide several times to figure out where to go.
What puzzled me was the ending of the main game. It just didn't make sense.
The bonus chapter was good and fit with the main game.

Four Students, One Professor and a Deserted Island.
Four students and a meteorologist Professor are the only ones signed on to be on these islands. However, only ONE SOS was received. It's your job to find these students. So, off you go.
Not great. Very dark and dreary. Not necessary for the storyline. It's an island - show some green in the greenery, etc. It was very monochromatic.
Background music was fine. No VOs.
You start out on Toto Island and, after some investigating, discover this definitely isn't a safe place to be so off you go in your tiny plane to another island - except a storm ensues, lightning strikes your plane - you escape and swim from under the cold, churning water to Fog Island. When you "come to" you immediately see one of the student's backpacks. It's time to start investigating on this island.
Strategy Guide (which I relied on heavily)
Bonus Level (Bonus Game ?) - locked until game is finished.
Bonus Content - locked until the Bonus Game is finished.
Collect 56 crystals.
There is a tutorial you can choose to use or not. A journal that contains a task list, notes (very helpful so make sure you read it frequently) and a map (useless, not transportable which would have be helpful) and a hint button - the only redeeming factor which is that it recharges very quickly in the HOGs, Otherwise, it is absolutely useless. It will show you an area to go to next, not transport you there, but NOT tell you HOW to get there. And there are generally several different directions you can go. So, if you don't rely on the SG for assistance, you will be doing a LOT more back and forthing than is necessary.
Surprisingly, I didn't come across that many but the ones I did were quite easy to find the items in. Not very interactive. Items not small or difficult to find. Hint button very helpful and recharged quickly.
The ones I came across were relatively easy.
I felt the storyline was weak. No direction was given at all unless you used the Strategy Guide quite heavily. There was basically nothing much to do in any specific area. No areas to look at, inventory items to pick up, puzzles to play - very boring game play. For these reasons, I am choosing not to purchase this game myself. However, I always encourage you to at least try the demo - it's free and only takes a very.....long.....boring .... hour of your time.
Happy Gaming to All!

Review from hr. trial
This game isn't that fun. It's pretty much a sleeper.
Based on my progress in the game, it looks like it's 3 hrs. long.
The story is slow. I was curious to see the end of it, but I basically have figure it out already.
The hidden objects are large, which is nice.
All but one of the puzzles I did were easy enough.
The graphics were good and there are no voice overs.
I am not interested in buying it.
