The Bride-CE after getting annoyed at the game a while ago for reasons i don't even know, i decided to try and play it again from the beggining (i wasn't far in the game anyway). i really don't regret my decision because is one of the few games that don't bore me at all from start to end. story: you play as a woman who's sister seemed to have died pushed in a lake. as far as i understood from the game they were twins. this demon guy, guides you through you sister's memory in order to save her. the story itself from start to end you'll find it yourself cause if i tell it the game's useless. it was indeed a very nice story, doesnt have confusing details, it follows a slow and logical path, broken in parts. interface & gameplay: you don't have a map. the journal is pretty useless. i don;t think the map is needed since you get transported in other scenes just once (the memories). the whole game rotates around your sister's memories, a house and a graveyard in the bonus game, so you'll learn your way around fast and easy graphics and sound: absolutelly brilliant, vibrant colors that keep your eyes on the screen without making you tired or giving you a headache. it's a mix between fantasy and modern times. there's a little bit of anymation too the music is calm and not disturbing. i loved the main theme , its a nice mix between piano and modern day soft drums, music i havent heard in any other game before. it was really nice chosen. there's no voice over anywhere in the game hog&puzzles: the hidden objects were really easy to see, maybe a little bit too easy , since at a better look the objects you have to find are a little bit bold in the scene. is not easy to see, but if you're out of hints and need one you can try the trick. i wasnt really thrilled with the puzzles on the other hand. even with 3 levels of difficulty some of them are soooo hard. im so used to playing hidden object games but the puzzles in this one were a little bit too much especially playing in the 3rd level of difficulty. i prefer using my own brain not strategy guides overall it was an excellent game and i enjoyed a lot playing it. ill continue to play the series. and by the way, the end is so abrupt because the second one is related to the first one July 19, 2012
Dissapointed. The first HoS game i played was made after this one but was also in the "Grim Tales" family. I then bought this one thinking it would be as good. I liked the interface, scene loading speed and general graphics but felt really let down with the abrupt ending. I dont think the story line was that gripping and I felt myself playing it to finish it rather than playing because I wanted to find out what happened next. It also didnt seem as long as some other I think i completed this in a few hours. Overall it was ok but I regret paying full price... if your thinking of buying this but have not already played "Grim Tales - The Legacy" I'd deffinately suggest buying that one instead. Good Game - I liked it This is a long game that could well have used an interactive map. There is a LOT of coming and going, and more locations than I expected, which was a good thing. I got a little bored toward the end and wanted it to be over, but after taking a break, I really did enjoy the rest of it. The graphics are clear and beautiful, and there is a lot to do. You can also see my review in the game forum for more details. May 2, 2013
Stumbled upon The Bride, and was hooked! A great game. Great story line. April 22, 2013
No regrets I enjoyed this game. The graphics were decent. The many puzzles were moderate to difficult but fairly typical. There is a skip option. It was a little heavy on the HOS. More than I prefer. However, they were not very time consuming and the other tasks kept it moving along. The Hint button informs you of your next move but does not assist with navigation. Unfortunately, there is not a map for reference. I am weak in this area. I get lost easily but I had no problems. You follow your sister's memories. When one memory is completed it opens a new location. The story was interesting but slow and under developed. I would have liked game play to be a little more involved with the plot. Other Grim Tales reviews led me to trying the first of this series. I imagine they only get better. No regrets. I look forward to the next one. April 10, 2013
Great Game This was one of the first HO games i have played and i really liked it (I've learned much since). Good story, puzzles are not super easy but not impossible either. I really had fun with it February 19, 2013
EXCELLENT very much enjoyed this game, excellent graphics, challengeing, neat clues and overall plot,, will b downloading the full version November 14, 2011
Good story line I enjoyed the story line, but unhappy with ending. December 1, 2011
Too short I enjoyed the game - such as it was. Too short, and some of the hidden objects were almost impossible to find. Not much more than a 3 for me, but some may enjoy it. January 19, 2012
"What happened with the newlyweds afterwards?" That's the question you're going to ask yourself after you complete the game. It seems that the developers put so much effort into creating endless scenes and all sort of objects (i never had to find so many keys!) that they forgot to complete the story. Anyway, story aside, this game provides a challenge that is only enjoyable for those who have the deduction skills and patience. My rating drops 1 start because i have neither of those.
