good fun game
Relaxing game to play. The HOS are not all that difficult but do have to look good, The puzzles are good. I like that you have a map so if you are unsure of what to do next you can use it for help. Pretty fun game to play.

Enigmatis? MANY of them ABOUND for HOURS of FUN!
It takes a whole LOT to get ME to give a game 5 stars! I give it this many for the HOURS of play time this game gave me for the money I paid for it! (FINALLY a good deal!) While I am not into "creepy" stories, it seems that is ALL we can get from our developers these days! So I tend to go for the "less creepy" ones, & this one is not so bad in that area. (Though the 'voice-overs' in this story you could call a bit 'creepy'; as they were pretty horrible! lol). You are a detective trying to find yet another of a series of kidnapped girls in a town known for disappearances. I played this in casual mode (as I always do, since I am a sissy when it comes to puzzles); & I liked the number of HOS & the puzzles weren't so difficult that I had to skip any of them! [YEAH! an accomplishment for ME!] Although, the one at the END, gave me a rather FRUSTRATING time until I finally figured out what the heck it wanted me to DO! [lol @ myself on that one, after I finally solved it!]
FINALLY a game that is LONG enough to keep you occupied for hours when there is nothing to do! & enjoyable at the same time!

Almost Perfect
Brief review for casual gamers: you'll love it. It's almost perfect and well worth the price. Engaging story line, wonderful graphics, intelligent puzzles, ..... a lot of fun for all skill levels.

If you like HOS, this one's for you!
Maple Creek is a very good HOPA, although it's a bit heavy on the hidden objects and light on the puzzles. The storyline carries the action from start to finish and like other reviewers, I enjoyed the extra attention given to the detective work aspect of the game with the evidence wall. The main downsides for me were that there was a LOT of running around, especially at the end, and that the numerous HOS started to get in the way as the game neared its conclusion. It was still a fun adventure though!
The SE ends with a "to be continued..." notice, but I'm not sure whether that means that there will be a sequel, or that the CE more completely wraps things up. In either case, the SE was long and enjoyable and had a decent enough ending that it still felt like a complete game on its own.

Pleasently Surprised!
I had a free game coming so I decided this time to go through the reviews to make my pick. I came across this game and got it because of the 'good reviews' and I'm sure glad I did because it was a great game. Wonderful graphics, the map was a lifesaver and the Story line was the best. This game really lets you get involved in the story, so you soon become a part of the game. There were lots of HO's and some of them were hard. I even had to 'hint' a couple of times. Not many puzzles, and they are all pretty easy. I'm going to have to get the CE because I just have to know how it ends. Thank you all for the 'Reviews' you give, good and bad as they can really be helpful. If you feel the game wasn't that good, great but be sure to explain why and we can all benefit.

Great for Detectives (or wannabe detectives)
This is a great game for people who are into detective stories...it lets the player become THE detective and keep tabs on all evidence found in order to proceed with the adventure-puzzle game.
Challenges the player to think logically...good game.

Sensationally Sinister
A gem of a game! Loved every aspect of it. Tons of HOGs, lots of intrigue and plenty of using the old thinking cap. This one is quite a challenge but doesn't make you want to pull your hair out in frustration.
The minis were a lot easier than the HOGs. I love HOs that are very difficult so this was a big plus for me. The objects were very cleverly hidden and fun to hunt for. I enjoyed the evidence wall and hunting for clues which weren't too hard to find. I'm glad there was a map, too, because it helped point me in the direction I needed to go on my scavenger hunt for items and solving the game.
I also have to praise the developer for making the problem-solving perfectly logical. Every item was used in the right way and the only thing I got stuck on was something in the basement but after I'd thought about it, the solution just floated on up out of nowhere, haha.
Without revealing too much, it has a happy ending but also leaves the door open for a sequel game. This one is now one of my favorites and will play it again soon.

Creepy and dark just as I like them....Good plot, great graphics, very clear, it's a good game, it takes you in.

Totally Hooked
After playing Nightmares From The Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector's Edition, I was keen to try out other games by this developer, and I loved it just as much!!!
Good Parts:
Excellent storyline, with brilliant voice-overs. It hooked me from the start
I really liked the Hidden Object Scenes. They were a great challenge and were fun to play.
Like all Artifex Mundi games, this game had pretty good graphics. They were clear and well designed.
Hint and skip recharged very fast. No need for a strategy guide when you have these!
I liked having to complete objectives
OK Parts:
The puzzles. Some were great, but others were annoying. They could've been a little easier.
Bad Parts:
The only bad thing that left me a little annoyed was that the demo went for only 40 minutes (41 to be exact). I felt a bit short changed, but it doesn't really matter as I will be buying anyway!
This game was really good. Artifex Mundi doesn't disappoint. Highly recomended to anyone! Personally, I would chose the SE because there is no need for a strategy guide.

Really enjoyed! Nice long game.
Lots of hidden objects. Storyline was good, but collecting evidence and solving was great. Wish the map could have transported...got tired of reconoitering from place to place. Graphics were very good. The length was good too...nice and long.
