Well-designed and intricate
I don't like hyperbole, but I have to say that this is one of the best HOG-type games I've ever played. It is fairly long, which could be a problem if it wasn't designed well, but the design team obviously took a lot of time to do it right. Their attention to detail is excellent, and should serve as a model to other designers. There are a few minor issues (bad spelling in a few spots, and why doesn't the last guy in the church ever go home?), but they don't really affect game-play.
The storyline is interesting, the voice acting is very good, and the game has very good visuals. There is a nice mix of HO scenes, mini puzzles and free-standing objects to find. I played it in "Regular" mode, but am quite likely to go back a few months from now, when I've forgotten a lot of the details, and play in "Hard" mode. That's about the best compliment that I can pay any game: it is worth playing more than once :-)
If I could make one change, it would be that sparkles would stop once we are done in a certain area. I'm talking about "areas of interest", not HO scenes. OTOH, the map and evidence wall more than make up for this minor quibble.
This is now my current "Fave". At the end of it was a "To be continued..." tag. I certainly do hope that a second game is forthcoming, as I will likely buy it without a demo.

Delightfully spooky story!
Loved this game. Very fun!
I played it on casual and it was just hard enough to know I would have gotten frustrated without the occasional help of a glimmer.
I took my time and played it over the course of 3 days. Most HOG's I finish in one sitting..
Great adventure story with a twist of a "detective wall" to keep you " In the story" instead of just moving about the scenes. As noted by others, I was about half way through before realizing I didn't need to Visit the wall in person. Just click on the evidence folder and it brings up the interactive wall, and afterwards it brings you to the spot you were before you worked on the wall.
Map was helpful, let me know what area to go look in when I wasn't sure where look next. Thankfully hints didn't tell too much but did more pointing..
HOG's were interesting, mostly objects expected in that area, though some did get a bit cluttered, I only needed the hint 3 times. And those were VERY hidden objects.. LOL
There are some objects labeled in ways that let me know it wasn't written locally.. But most were near enough to what I would have named them to pick them out..
Long, interesting and just spooky enough to give me a good shiver towards the end. What's not to love! Now they need to bring out part 2, since it does say, To be continued.. :)
Only down side would be an occasionally dark, hazy or harder to see scene, but those were rare. And I am never sure if it is me or the game.
Well done! I would recommend it to buy. I plan on replaying it in expert mode next time..

Demonic clapper
I would consider this an above-average quality hidden object adventure game, compared to the dozens of this genre on this site. One genuine scare stands out amid the generally spooky autumnal atmosphere. Most of the puzzles are fairly easy, with one exceptional skill-based puzzle, but of course you can skip it. There are a lot of hidden object scenes. Length is decent and the story progresses just a bit further than you might expect. A map shows you where you can go next if you get stuck. Complaints: graphics and voice acting aren't wonderful.

Highly recommended
This was one of the very best games I have bought. I enjoyed almost every aspect of it though I did get lost going back and forth through the town and had to resort a few times to Hints in order to tell me which building or place to head to next.
The story was quite involving and required you to pay attention and make deductions about the case on the evidence wall. This was an unusual and engaging aspect to the game.
The graphics and animations were very good and the game lasted a satisfyingly long time.

A must, just finished and loved it!
Everything is enjoyable about this game, not to much running around to different scene's. Some of the HO's are a little hard to find. Skip button quick to recover. Great ending. Can't wait for the sequel.

A Good, Solid Game
This was a good, solid hidden object game. The puzzles were challenging, the story was interesting, and I liked how, in the hidden object scenes, once you found an object, it was gone from the scene permanently.
What kept it from being a 5 star game though, in my opinion, was a lack of attention to detail. The game could have benefited from some more proofreading and fact checking. While occasionally the typos were merely funny, they occasionally interfered with gameplay (I was asked to find a "spectre" when the object was "sceptre"). The most egregious incident I came across, however, was when I was asked to find an ear of corn: when I finally gave up in frustration after clicking the actual ear of corn in the scene to no avail, the hint button directed me to some heads of wheat.
That aside, I do recommend this game, and I hope they develop a series from it.

Can't wait for the sequel
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I loved the story line and although you go back to some HOS scenes multiple times, it is still fun. The puzzles were a bit easy but fun nonetheless.

A bit repetitive gameplay but good long story
In this game you can really be a detective collecting clues and deciding next steps. I always play with expert/hard mode without hints as long as possible, and in this game I decided to use some hints for the right location just to avoid running around searching for the next step where to proceed. As the game is long, in the end some of the hidden object games started to feel too much "I have seen this same now too many times". Also the map would have been better with shortcut/link option to locations, as without them there was some amount of meaningless time spent travelling between locations.
However, the story was well built having several cases to solve before the final closing, there were enough locations to keep the game interesting, visual appearance was good and there were nice minigames included along the way. On the fun factor scale this style of game with dark story is not my favorite, therefore a bit lower rating there.
