Odysseus: Long Way Home
It gets better as it goes on
I picked this game up because I like Greek mythology. The graphics are pretty but feel sterile. Puzzles and hidden object scenes were extremely easy at first, but the difficulty picked up towards the end, including a couple of stand outs.

--A mix of realistic graphics and cartoon characters, strange, nothing to complain about though
--The game play is logical, instead of random bas-reliefs that unlock obscure chests, the tasks made sense and flowed with the storyline; light a fire, construct a wooden horse, go fishing, shoot an arrow.
--The story follows Ancient Greek culture and is constantly changing, giving you a new set of scenes to work with.
--I enjoyed the music and the variety, it changed with each scene.
--HO scenes aren't the best, and once you enter a HO scene you're stuck there until you complete it. Objects aren't cleverly hidden, often just masked by something of a similar color, and you often find them in ridiculous places.
--Objects are replaced after you find them, and there are multiple trips back to each HO scene.
--The same cookie-cutter type items will keep reappearing; pumpkin, tomato, belt, etc
--I disliked many of the puzzles (sliding mosaic? really?) and skipped them simply because they were tedious and boring.

Beware - after a year or more there's still no walkthrough
This is based only on the trial, since I DO NOT buy games without walkthroughs. Yes, I've been known to play a game or two without a walkthrough, but I've also bought 2 games that didn't have walkthroughs, one I had to tuck away until there was one. The other, after much waiting, I deleted. My $ is too tight to BET that I can play a game without one. Too bad, because I really enjoyed the trial hour. A little 'low tech', but it moves along and the tasks make sense. If you think I'm the only one who wants one. Search for the walkthrough and read some of the rants from folk who like the game but need the walkthrough. Then ask yourself... Do I feel lucky? Well, do I?

Historical, but oh, so . . .dry
Even though the historical value was good, there was little challenge, little to keep my interest, and just a bit boring. It seemed like the HOS was more important than the storyline itself. I will recommend this game only for beginners of the genre since it is so slow-paced and not too many distractions.

Put me to sleep!
This was a very generic hidden object game, with minor interactive scenes. Extremely dull storyline, and game play. Normally I get engrossed in games when I play late at night. This one put me to sleep! Definitely would not purchase this game, not even if it was on sale.

Not worth the time or money.
game is slow in loading and changing scenes. There is virtually no challenge in finding objects. Glad I didn't buy it.
