Beautiful game
I really enjoyed this game. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous, and the music and sound effects help to create a lovely atmosphere, which is something that I really like in a game. My only complaint would be that it is a bit too easy, specifically the puzzles. While I do think that Phantom of the Opera is still the best Mystery Legends, this one is still quite good and well worth a buy.

Worth playing
I really enjoyed the Phantom of the Opera, the previous "Mystery Legends", so I was looking forward to Beauty and the Beast. For some reason I didn't enjoy this quite as much, though that's not to say it's not a good game. I think there was more an element of 'what's going on?' in the other one which there wasn't here. Although the storyline was ok, I didn't find it quite as compelling as the Phantom.
The graphics are good and there are some slightly different minigames which are fun. There are HO scenes but the game is as much about finding objects which you have to use in different places.
I liked the way that you had to go right back to where you started from and do some things you hadn't been able to then in order to finish the game and I thought the ending was very satisfactory. It bugged me slightly that you could see the bonus area on the map when you knew that was only for the CE, but even so, the game finished in a way you didn't really need to have the extra bit.
Some niggles: the heroine's voice becomes really irritating. Does she have to say something each time she goes to search an area? And it's always pretty much the same thing she says (and exactly the same voice as in Phantom of the Opera). But no one else speaks; there could have been more voiceovers.
Still, I thought it was worth playing if not absolutely compelling (I stopped in the middle to play a newer game).

Good Game
This was a good game overall. I really liked the map showing the entire kingdom as well as the cues about current objectives. This is mostly HO scenes that are intermediate to difficult and very well done. Great details. I had to use the hints a few times in the HO scences which I don't usually have to do. There are only a few min-puzzles so if you really like the HO scenes better this is for you. Visually, this was a beautiful game with lovely scenery, good sound and decent music that did not get annoying. The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars is that some of the links between the objects you collect and what you have to use them for are really, really thin. Logically it made no sense that you had to use some of the objects the way you did. This leads to using the hints more often than I would like or just trying every single object in your inventory because you never know what random object is supposed to work on a given obstacle. I don't want to be a game spoiler but for example the way you end up using the Phoenix rose, how you have to "disarm" the poison frog and the scorpion as well as how you end up getting rid of the spider web to gain acces to second level of castle. Really? The object used made no sense. But given all the other positives I would still recommend this game.

great but too short..
I wanted more. This hog was funny, innovative and I liked the hog scenes. Sometimes I look forward to them, other games I could take or leave. I don't mind that some look like a big trash dumps, it's the size of screen and color that makes a difference. When I have to get right up to screen because I'm looking for a button and it's just a spec on the screen, that's annoying. This game has bigger size screen for hog scenes.
But there was a lot more I enjoyed about this game. Loved the spaceship that brought you other lands and after the first voyage over, you could just click to go back and forth...without having to ride the ride again. Great attention to player needs. With that and the sense of humor brought into it, make this game unique and worth the time.
You never know with some of these games and their titles, but the title really means nothing and you can't tell until you're at least half an hour into it.
Glad I got this one even though it's probably been out for a while. I just started playing and enjoying these developers/designers. Keep up the good work playpond and boomzap. My favorites have one or the other names on them.

Fun game
This game has a great storyline...great voiceovers and graphics...I found the puzzles to be fairly easy but the hidden objects scenes were a little more challenging (just a little) I had to use my hint button twice on the hidden objects scenes. You do have to revisit all the scenes a few times so the world map came in pretty handy. Overall I had a good time playing even though I completed the game in about 3 hours. However, since I did buy the game on sale I don't regret making the purchase!

This Beauty Is No Beast
This beautifully drawn game is quite long but leaves you wishing for more after you reach its dazzling conclusion. The characters keep you moving in the right direction with the exception of the evil witch who provides enough obstacles to keep the challenge level high. You will have to earn your way to new locations and your travels take you to many unique areas. Fortunately a journal provides a map so you can clearly see where your objectives lie. A unique twist to a classic tale!
