OK but not wonderful I played the first Twisted Lands game Shadow Town recently and it seems to me that the creators were using up scenes they had already prepared for that game to make an easy sequel. Puzzles were too easy for me. And what sort of education have they had - "you digged the treasure up"?! "Make you loose your breath" instead of "lose"?! If English language and grammar is not their thing, why don't they get someone to cast an expert eye over their texts? Sorry to be the only negative voice. I would buy this game as a Daily Deal but it's not worth the full amount IMO, although I had already bought it based on the other reviews. June 24, 2012
Everyone loves this... except me! I really can't put my finger on why I disliked this game so much but I think it was a combination of things. There are no sounds except a very low background music that is so laid back it detracts from the feeling on the game. There is no map which in this case is a definite draw back. But most of the time I just didn't have a clue what to do and considering I have now played well over 500 of these types of games, I found it to be very frustrating. In fact, I didn't finish it which is the first time ever! Maybe it got better but I think I was about half way through, so I can't see it would have improved much in my eyes. As my title suggests though, the rest of the reviews are glowing, so I guess it's just me. January 20, 2013
Twin Peaks as HOG? This game had as much sense and story line as Twin Peaks did. Confusing, jumping from one point of view to an other. Who was the second character? How much time lapsed between the two? It had wholes so big you could drive a school bus through it. Visual is ok. Not overly jumbled and clear. The puzzles won't wrack you brain either. I only recommend this game if you have nothing better February 11, 2013
Senseless and Pointless The puzzles were way too easy, I nearly finished the game in the demo without realizing it. The plot had so many holes in it, I only bought the game because I was hoping the story would make sense by the end. If you need to play another game first to understand ANYTHING about what is going on that should be made clear in the description of the game. I don't think I will bother with Shadow Town however my curiosity was snuffed out by how simple the puzzles are in Insomniac. There is a Connect-the-dots game. Just one, but it's one too many. If you want your hand held through the whole game... Then this is the game for you. I prefer that when I hit "expert" level, that I will be challenged. Not so, for this game. It tells you what you should do next, every step of the way. Granted, I only played about 30 minutes into the game, but was very disappointed. Not challenging enough. The graphics and story-line seemed well enough, which is a bummer that they couldn't have made it more of a challenge. April 5, 2014
