Excellent Hidden Object Game I just finished this game and enjoyed it thouroughly. Full compliments of adjustments in options for those that find that importnt. I thought this was a game that could have been ordinary, but was done in a very clever way. Some new things to experience and think about, but not to difficult. The mechanics of the game were a bit different from the usual fare, but in a good way. Great graphics. It played very well on my 17 inch laptop and had no problems finding objects and completing tasks. A very good Iinteractive hidden object adventure game and I highly recommend you spend your hard earned money on this. November 18, 2011
Intriguing & Fun Game! An interesting game which is of good length! It has an interesting story line which ends abruptly in the main game. The bonus game rounds out the story of the game's heroine. The game has excellent graphics & interactive hidden object scenes; nearly all the items change so there is good replay value. If you don't want to play H0S, you're given the option of playing a mini game instead. The voice-overs are adequate but it would have been nice if the heroine showed some emotion! The mini-games are interesting & varied with some puzzles having random solutions. The extras include the (obligatory) wallpapers, some of the mini-games plus a short bio of the characters, locations & magic used in this game. I don't buy many collector's editions but this one is worth the extra money IMO. November 19, 2011
It's a good game, but a little tiring... Good sound, good graphics, interesting story, games are not very challenging, but entertaining. Sometimes it's tiring to keep changing to another era, and we have to do it all the time, ...and wait a little. Sometimes only have one thing to do, and change again ! But it's good entertainment. I'll wait SE and play again, to think better if is worth purchasing. January 9, 2012
Fun game, challenging hidden object screens. The hidden object screens were a lot trickier and more complex than other games of this kind. The storyline was a bit difficult to follow, I wasn't really sure where Merlin fitted into the plot. There were lots of different things you had to collect up to reveal important objects, I liked that. However, the game suddenly ended quite abruptly, I felt it should have had a better conclusion. 4 stars. November 13, 2011
Best Hidden Object Game This is one of the best game I've played. Not too easy, not too difficult. Usually I don't share my opinion but for this one, I had to. I really enjoyed all the parts of the game. I wish you will enjoy it as much as me. November 15, 2011
Challenging Hidden Objects Game The graphics are great with fine details to even the smallest of objects. Interaction with objects within hidden object games makes these scenes more enjoyable. Unexpected events triggered by player actions gives an exciting twist to the game play. The option to play mini games during hidden object scenes is yet another twist as well as a greater challenge. Time Mysteries - The Ancient Spectres Collectors Edition quickly became one of my favorite hidden objects games. November 15, 2011
Nice Time Travel Game DISCLAIMER: I only played the free trial. This is an awesome game! I was rather surprised; I expected it to be just a rip-off of Flux Family Secrets: The Ripple Effect. But even though this game has a similar plot, it creates a world and atmosphere all its own. You play as Esther, a young orphan. She has recurring dreams about a tree and an old mansion. At the start of the game, she receives a package from a long lost aunt. In it is a picture of the mansion she dreams about, and so begins her adventure. To start, the graphics are really wonderful. You move through different times and visit the same locals, but each scene is rich and clearly identifiable. The time machine integrates a map that tells you what room or time you need to visit. No need to wonder where you are or where you need to go next. The game can be somewhat confusing at the start, but the hint system is robust, so you really shouldn?t need to use it too often. If you think that this game is too easy, don?t be fooled. There is enough challenge even in the casual mode that should keep you interested in playing. Another great surprise for me was the voice acting; it?s really quite good. Nothing overly dramatic, and there are no endless screens of dialogue to click through. I think that the walkthrough is very good, too. (Though I don?t recommend paying twice the price for a game when BFG offers one for free) Where I think the game kind of falters is the mini-games. They are routine and offer nothing new. Despite this, I am going to get this game (SE). I?m sure other gamers will appreciate this game too. November 19, 2011
Close to a five star game If you've played Time Mysteries: Inheritance this is a HUGE improvement over that game. The best part of the game was the time travel aspect and the way you could make changes in the past that would affect the future. You get a time travel device that doubles as a map that lets you take shortcuts to various locations in the game. This is especially useful as it highlights locations where there's a puzzle, inventory item or hidden object scene. I really like the art style for this game. It has a bit more of a dreamy, surrealistic look to it that I really appreciated, especially for the locations in the abandoned, burned out mansion. The heavy layer of dust and cobwebs that covers everything looks gorgeous, especially after the rooms are illuminated by the strange creatures that looks like flaming butterflies. The hidden object scenes were fun, and you had the option to switch to/from a mini-game (a variation on Match 3) at any time to help complete the scene, similar to Phantasmat. The puzzles were of average difficulty for the most part, although I found myself spending a little extra time on some of them. I really liked the bonus content. It took me about 1.5 hours to play and included a unique puzzle that required being to visualize the inverse of an image (like a film negative). It was both a prequel AND sequel (this IS a time travel game!) to the main game and was a fun complement to the story. March 3, 2012
Strange story, good puzzles, poor visuals. Near the end of the demo, I checked the strategy guide (included), & found I only made it to page 6 of 47, so it's a very long game. Despite the poor visual quality, it's a different type of game play, you must look throughout each scene to discover everything there is to find. Interesting. November 12, 2011
Different I loved the storyline to this game as it was very different to other games, the only downside to the game was constant moving room one area for one thing and then having to go all the way back to the area you started in. Loved the moving mechanism too. November 12, 2011
