I guess I'm in the minority.... ...because I hated this game and could not wait to be done with it. The voiceovers are annoying and if you make the mistake of clicking in the same place again you have to hear the same annoying voice saying the same annoying thing over and over. There is WAY too much back and forth, once you get the hang of the "time machine" it's a little better, but to me, without the time machine telling you where there was stuff to be done, you never would have known how to do anything or where to go. There are 2 good things....the strategy guide actually keeps up with your progess in the game, that is until you close the game, then you lose your place. The other is, if you get stuck and simply cannot find a hidden object, you have the option to play a mini game of match 3 intstead. Overall, it's taking me twice as long to finish because I have to keep stopping because I get so annoyed at the whole thing. July 8, 2012
A GAME TOO LONG This is for those with a huge appetite who just can't get enough of a game, others (myself included) will be left crying, 'enough is enough' long before the end. I ended the game using the, thankfully, ever ready hint button. It is, for this casual player, simply too crowded. No idea, however small and unnecessary to the overall objective, escapes this designers hands, and deemed unworthy of an extra h.o.s. or another journey hither and thither through time. The result is to exhaust interest in the game too soon. Having said that, the graphics are of a high quality; the h.o.s. do not rely on the tiny and obscure for their interest; the puzzles are amusing and the interactive areas work spontaneously for the correct solution. The voice over is unobtrusive and and better than many games. The story line however is unremarkable. I recommend that casual players who are tempted by this game choose the s.e., because, having been out there on the long, long trail with this game, a bonus chapter may be just what you don't want. Dreary, annoying, awful. Bought the CE on the reviews of superior fishies. Obviously I have a completely different mindset. It was endless jumping from one year to the other, had do use the SG exclusively as there was no rhyme or reason for a lot of time time jumps. HOS was garbage piles that would not immediately register "clicks", I notice others have mentioned that. Really don't like incomprehensible heaps of rubbish if I have to play HOS. Graphics were the best thing about this game, which is something of a sad statement, isn't it? Generally a terrible game - hated it. January 20, 2013
Way too much back and forth! The graphics are good and I enjoyed the story. Lots of repeat HOS with different objects to find bit this gets confusing. The tool you need to complete an item often appears when it is not yet needed or has already been used. I became irritated with the travel from one, only to have to travel to another and another and ANOTHER only to return to where you started with the items needed to complete a task. The voice overs were done very well and the length of the game is decent. June 9, 2012
CE well worth the price This is a really good HOPA. Although the plot is not original, there is the added element of time travel to make it more interesting. There is so much to do, and I really enjoyed that on expert mode I had to figure out where to go, there were no hints. There are many HOS and less minigames. The strategy guide is good and keeps your place. The CE is well worth the money, the bonus game is an interesting addition to the story. Minor things they could have fixed: 1.even on expert mode there are sparkles showing HOS. 2.they could have included more minigames 3. It would have been nice to be able to turn off voices, I had to play on mute because the annoying main character's voice even read most of the black box comments. January 17, 2013
My favorite HO-Adventure game with nice bonus chapter I fall in love with this game, it worths CE for me completely. I played on Expert mode (no sparkles,much-click penalty, long hit recharge), used hint few times only (and you can't get much from hint on expert - if there are nothing to do on current and adjacent scenes, hint shows on time device only and you have no real clue were to go), never used skip button. At first I was sure it's other dark mystic terrifying game I'll delete after 5 try minutes as many other, but I gave it a chance - and game took me completely instead! - I'm ready to give 6 stars for fun - The story is amazing for me, bonus chapter unexpected and cool. - I like that idea with time device - saves from long travelling, and add some fun game moments like doing some at past changing current time etc. - art level is nice for me, but some scenes were too dark and hard to play in broad daylight - music suits the game completely, I like it - 1st such game when I liked HO scenes really (they annoy me mostly during adventure, I prefer pure HO games). Some HO scenes used twice - I like this. Interactive objects at HO scenes ware really fun sometimes. Player can play mini game like match 3 instead of HO scene, every win reveal 1 HO object - puzzles and mini-games were OK - only 1 thing was annoying - sometimes the only thing player can do is new HO place, appeared after solving some problem, and there are no clue were it is, we can only walk throw places and times looking for it; - this game isn't for family playing, the story line and some scenes is a bit fearful for small kids (nothing really terrible or unsuitable, but this isn't game for play with my 5 year son on my knees) - I give 4 to level of challenge because I'd prefer it would be a bit harder - long enough and I want continuation! Great This is a beautiful, fun game. It is long and you do have a lot of running around to do but it was a lot of fun. I hated it when it ended. I can't wait for another one. I hope it was as good as this one. Average amount of HOGs. Puzzles were hard but not to hard. Storyline was great. Traveling around was fun and easy. You should try this game. It will grab you. Wonderful game It is such a delight when one get's to do a great game. Love the story, interact game play done extrememly well, and the voice over is supurb. I loved the way the map intervened and the fact that it get's stolen near the end was a nice suprise. Thanks BF. July 10, 2012
Well worth it!!! This is a fun, engaging and challenging HOPA with great graphics and a really good story line! I consider myself pretty good at these types of games and usually play on hardcore or expert mode, but in this game was so much of a challenge that I had to regularly toggle back to regular mode and use the walk through and hints! For me some of the main highlights of this game were that it is non-linear, uses a lot of time travel where an action at one date can change the same scene in another date, gives a great challenge by providing only general objectives that can require a series of creative solutions to achieve, uses very cleverly and sometimes fiendishly hidden objects outside of regular HO scenes and also allows you to toggle back and forth between a mini-game when you get stuck in a hard HO junk pile which happened plenty for me. Another feature that I really liked about this game is that although I usually don't enjoy HO scenes very much, this game was challenging enough that I'd get excited when I'd find another HO scene because I'd be so curious as to what object it would give me to help me on any of the numerous puzzles that I needed to complete to move ahead. This ranks right up there with some of the best games I've played. Highly recommended!!!! June 10, 2012
Very good game! I played in expert mode but there are still sparkles for the HOS. The storyline is complex but interesting. You travel in time and there is a lot of going back and forth, and I liked that. The graphics and the HOS are very clear. The puzzles are challenging. I was happy to have the strategy guide, since it happened that I didn't find an object. The hint system (not in the HOS) wasn't very helpful but it added to the challenge. There is not much interacting with other characters. It took me a bit more than 5 hours for the main part. The bonus chapter is not really necessary, a bit too easy and I needed 40 min. to finish it. But the main part is more than enough! It's never boring and I had a great time! June 10, 2012
