A Must have game that leaves you wanting more! The end of this current trilogy was by far the best of them all! Wonderful graphics and amazing story. Best of all, this is the first one with VOs and they were very complimentary to the story. I was so into the story I would forget about the real world! It has just the right amount of HOS and the puzzles were nicely ranged from easy to med-hard. The cut scenes are something I usually don't watch, but these were definately worth it. March 27, 2012
IF only all ERS games were like this.... I really enjoyed this game surprisingly as I am usually disappointed by most ERS games but I got this one on sale and decided to go with it since I enjoyed the demo. This is an ERS superb quality game and it saddens me that ERS is capable of this kind of genius work in their best series' but lack it in their other mediocre offerings throughout the year. This is obviously the series that made them into what they are now so they put most of the focus and game play into this one but I would love to see them use the same quality in ALL their games not just the graphics. Okay rant over. This game was a pretty good length, took me at least 5 hours to complete it. Loved searching for the roses, you cannot complete the game without finding all of them :) I was satisfied with the SE ending although I would have liked to know if the villain was captured so Im assuming there will be yet another game in this series. I loved how it was a different mystery case from a lot of the ones we see. This is also the first ERS game in a long time that has filled my entire screen so Cheers to that! There were just the right amount of hidden object scenes for me, not too many like some of their offerings. I was very pleased with this game, surprised and hopeful maybe ERS will set a new change of pace with this game and go forward with more interesting games not just boring cookie cutter already been done themes. And there was a new music score in this game!! Some of the same old, same old but a new track which surprised me. They really wanted to impress with this game you can tell AND there is no hint button in the main game so I got lost A LOT! It wasn't overly frustrating though and I only had to click out and consult the walkthrough once and it was my own stupidity why I didn't have the item I need so it was no big deal. (I personally love getting lost because then its an adventure) I look forward to more in this series and hopefully more creative effort set forth by the developers. Kudos! February 6, 2012
Classic Love Story Aww, this is so lovely. A classic tale of good and evil, and of course you are on the good side with Detective Dupin. He even includes you in his conversation by turning towards you. The graphics are great. Quite a long game, and I must admit I had to view the blog a couple of times. Not too much jumping here there and every where, the story flows very well. December 5, 2011
Great Hidden Object Game Thoroughly enjoyed this game, not too may hidden object scenes and some areas made me sit back and think rather than having too many sparkles showing me what to do. Well worth a credit. November 20, 2011
Excellent hidden object game Have paused this game to give this review - excellent hidden object game (and i play a lot of them) love the storyline, love the graphics, game not too hard, great five stars November 28, 2011
dark tales:premature burial I'm new to Mac games and I'm so excited by all the fantastic games on offer. I was playing BF games on my iPad but the games are not half as good as they are for Mac and this is the first game I've tried and i must say "fantastic"!! brilliant storyline, brilliant graphics! look forward to playing some fantastic games soon January 27, 2012
Great Game! I really - visually - enjoy ERS games. They are visually beautiful to look at. One feels like they are in an old, very artist painting and the game play and challenges are just right. Challenging enough to say that the people who create these games are great thinkers and keep us gamers on our toes. The story line was very good and easy to follow and the music fit the ambience...old world European. The HOG are very good with the flair they use for drawing. Again one feels like they are in an old world painting and not a computer generated game. The length of this game definitely makes this game worth buying along with all the above things I mentioned. Great game well worth purchasing Loved this one. Great story and challenges. My only grumble was delay loading time between certain scenes or games but hardly anything major to grumble about! the hidden objects are not too dificult but that makes the game play flow well and the adventure aspect makes a lot more sense than other IHOG games I have played. I loved the others in this series and this one did not disappoint (unlike the new ravenhearst). December 4, 2011
Another win with Detective Dupin Plus = Another interesting story line, with a slight twist, featuring one of my favorite detectives. I have enjoyed the two other games in this series, so was pleased to have a new game to play, and I hope this series continues. From the opening cutscene to the last scene of the game, the graphics were stunning, with bright colors and crisp detail. I like Hidden Object scenes, and found the HO scenes to have just the right amount of challenge, with great interactive things to do to finish the scene. I also liked having to find all the flowers to make a bouquet, and I was pleased with the ending. Minus = The only minus for me was that I wished the game was slightly longer (but I did not want to pay the CE price for a bonus chapter, so that is my own problem!) November 27, 2011
Poe Still Inspiring Into The Future I love the early mystery writers like Poe and Doyle. I think they would be pleased their stories inspire modern writers and game designers. I have a lot of the "Dark Tales" games and others with Poe's characters in them. I think the art work in this game is eye-catching and gives it a rich, textured look. Makes it interesting and visually pleasing looking for the HO's. I like this game because you aren't constantly going back too many scenes to use an inventory item - had a good flow and rhythm to it. Evening well spent and I think I used a free game credit for purchase - bonus !! December 3, 2012
