Beautiful Interactive Hidden Object Game
Death Under the Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel is the second Dana Knightstone (Death at Fairing Point) by BoomZap.
This game is truly lush with visual experiences. Further adding to the atmosphere is the music, which I thought to be the perfect combination of haunting and melancholy with a touch of lightness thrown in so you could feel that Tuscan sun.
The puzzles were plentiful and the hidden object scenes did not dominate the game. The story was very well done, told via cutscenes, and I enjoyed every minute of the game. I know I will play it again as it truly delights the senses.
Total game time for me, in Advanced Mode, using no hints, no skips, no strategy guide (and getting all the achievements) was 5 hours and 5 minutes. The epilogue (bonus chapter) added an additional 55 minutes, bringing my total game time to 6.0 hours.
I heartily recommend this game. BoomZap is a favorite developer for me. I simply adore everything they do. Their games never disappoint and this one is a beauty. It is a delight to play and for those who like stories, this one is a must have.

Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel CE
This was an excellent, high quality game. The graphics were crisp, clear and beautiful in true widescreen format (not a stretched/distorted widescreen). The game play was moderately challenging on the advanced mode, with great adventure elements, fun puzzles, and only a few hidden object scenes, which was a nice change of pace. The game was story driven, with very nicely done voice overs and good cut scenes. The CE edition had a good epilogue section, as well as achievements, which are always fun. There were beautiful wallpapers which you could set during the game, instead of afterwards, which I truly appreciate. I don't keep games on my computer after I play them, so hate it when the wallpapers are locked until after you have finished the game - I really have no use for them at that point. Overall, I was very impressed with this game, as well as the last Awakening game by these developers, Boom Zap. They really know how to put together a wonderful CE edition that seems worth the extra cost - great job!

Information about the puzzles in the game
I really enjoyed the first game so wanted to buy this. This is the longest bonus on a CE I have played, just over an hour. It had no sparkles at all in the advanced mode I played (great!)
When I first started playing it was one easy puzzle straight after each other and thought it was going to be a very easy game (I prefer harder puzzles). While this isn?t a hard HOPA it does slowly get a bit harder so some puzzles are more medium by the time you are half way through to the end. But at least the adventure side kept it more interesting and there was not a lot of backtracking in this game.
Strategy guide always knew where you were in the game so you didn?t have to go through it and find it.
Those who love HO scenes this game isn?t for you. If you love loads of mini games and puzzles but not on the hard side, this is so for you.
SPOILER for type of puzzles and H O scenes -
Hidden object scenes ? 5 (1 in bonus) ? one true junk scene (shown in screenshot). And one frog scene. 2 outline scene. One find 15 of ?x? type scene. A couple of scenes of zoomed in clipped shots of place it in the large photo.
PUZZLES a good mix -
There was a fit the shapes in an area (and there was a outline on some of the background which told you where to put them, which made it easier which I didn?t like). There was a machine arcade game of match 3. A lot of drag and put things in the right place type minigame. There were a few ? find the pictures that relate to each other.? Loads of different variation of Swap tiles or put in right order and rotate. And some match the pair (one was really good as you had a puzzle to figure out what order to match them)
Mechanical arm to get prize wasn?t logical and pure guess and still didn?t show in the cut sequence what order you pressed the buttons.
There were some that were medium hardness games ? it would have been helpful to know the greek alphabet, I don?t but you can easily work that puzzle by process of elimination and there were some clues.
Cooking ? find the recipe and ingredients in the minigame
OVERALL? I loved the number of puzzles and minigames, storyline, and no sparkles. It would have been good if there were more harder puzzles. It had a good length bonus game.
If there were some morphs, replayability of the puzzles, a bit harder puzzles I would give this game an A+. As is I would give it a good B+.

Great follow-up to "Death at Fairing Point"
Boomzap continues to grow and improve. This game, once again, proves that it's not just about the "Awakening" series. I absolutely loved "Death at Fairing Point." It reminded me of the "Murder She Wrote" game. But it was such an overlooked game and I feel the same way about "Death Under Tuscan Skies."
While I enjoy Boomzap's "Awakening" series, the real reward in my eyes comes from the "Dana Knightstone" series. The story for this series is far superior and the overall attention to detail. The graphics are far better...just beautiful, colorful, and lush. Everything is just presented better in this series, in my opinion. So I'm sad that it doesn't really get the attention it rightfully deserves.
I haven't played the bonus section yet, but perhaps that's my only disappointment with this Collector's Edition. Instead of sticking with their bright and refreshing graphics, they went the "dark and eerie" route with the bonus chapter. Just based on the strategy guide, the epilogue chapter for "Death at Fairing Point" was better. So I would actually recommend buying the standard edition unless you really wanted the strategy guide and don't mind a real tone shift in the graphics.
In the end, I think "Death Under Tuscan Skies" is a better game than its predecessors. I hope they continue with this series and make a third. But it's too bad that not even the screenshots on the game page showcase the true beauty and elegance of the game.

Enjoyable Sequel
This is the second Dana Knightstone game, and I found it fun and just the right amount of challenge: not too easy so as to be boring, but not so difficult that it was frustrating. The game-play was smooth, the graphics really lovely, and the music nice, but non-intrusive. The strategy guide was easy to use, and for the CE, the bonus chapter was fun and took the game to the next level. I enjoyed it tremendously.

Wonderful Hidden Object Game
I love this game! The story line was excellent, the graphics are crisp and clear and the story was easy to follow. I bought the CE of it and never used the Strategy Guide, the hint button was helpful enough that you could figure out what to do. I like having a hidden object game as well as having to interact with certain things to continue on your journey.

Don't miss this one
It is so refreshing to play a game that isn't dark: in theme or in graphics. The graphics and game-play are bright and colorful. I hope the developers of this game make more. Don't miss it!

Loved This Game!
I very seldom have my speakers on, so cannot address the audio for this game, but the graphics are excellent. Liked the story line, and the game play is perfect! Wonderful mini-games, not terribly hard, but still challenging. The smooth transitioning between scenes and figuring out what is supposed to be done made sense in this game. Great ?hated to see it end!

Good Mystery in the Works
I found this to be a well written and executed story. It has a lot of variation between hidden objects and puzzles. The interior shots are beautiful and match the story line. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes to play these mystery games.

I just got boored
I tried to like this but it is slow and the music puts you to sleep. No voice over and the hint button is really not much good to me. Tell you where to go but you have to remember where that place is. Most of the puzzles are easy and the HOS are also not hard and different. Just better games out there.
