More like this please...
This game was such a pleasure to play. The atmosphere and settings manage to stay eerie without being dark or creepy and the storyline holds together until the end.
The mini-games, while very easy were unique and fun. There is one mini-game played in the waters of a fountain that has a very nicely executed spooky surprise....
Music and graphics were excellent although folks are right - there is a wait to load between screens.
It was refreshing to be away from the fairy tale castles, little princesses, pixies, and other cutesy stuff and into something with a more adult setting.
No strategy guide needed. The game won't let you go astray and the puzzle answers are easy to find.- Which is really my only criticism. Do the mini-games HAVE to be so easy?
Highly recommend. Guys - Next one, please up the anti on mini-game difficulty.
Thank you for this one. - A real pleasure to play.

Loved the look but hated the slow screen loads
I have not heard of Fanda Games; they have produced a game that is incredibly beautiful to look at with crystal clear graphics. The artwork is moody & atmospheric, the music melodic but a little boring & the background sounds are super although there is no voiceover which is a shame.
There are some very interesting puzzles that are different from the usual fare however there is only one mode of play so expect sparkles. There is also an Info button which tells you what your task is at the time & the hint button has a 60 second recharge.
I also like the story & normally this would be a buy however when I initially started the game all I had was music & a black screen for ages & I thought that something had gone wrong with the download. Eventually the game began but the slow loading between screens totally disrupts my enjoyment. Given the graphic & artwork quality I do hope that this developer produces more games but with a faster screen load please.
I am recommending because, although I did not buy, if you are prepared to wait for the screens to load this is excellent gameplay

Beautiful fantasy game
After the free trial, I had to buy this game immeadiately! it is a beautifully flowing game. The mini games and hidden object games are just hard enough, and the ending is rewarding. Well worth the money...

Better than watching paint dry
This game could have been fun, but the technical aspects made it almost a chore to play. The loading between every single screen change took forever. It made me lose interest quickly, and eventually made me so frustrated I almost didn't finish the game. The ending hinted at a sequel, but I wouldn't purchase it. It's a shame too, the graphics were well-done and the music was decent.

Bluebeard's Castle
This one has potential if you don't frustrate easily. There's very little instruction on the mini games. I had no idea what I was supposed to do on the fountain one at the beginning, so had to skip and I hate "skipping" on the mini games.
The HO games were very challanging. The scenes were pretty dark.
I only played the trial and it was fun. But, I will probably not buy as there are better ones out there.

Before and After the UPDATE Makes a Difference!
BEFORE UPDATE
I'm doing kind of a mini-review, rather than my usual long-winded info.
This is a game that is very well done, with beautiful graphics, a Drawn-like feel to it and interesting gameplay.
The problem is the loading screens. The initial load time is long - long enough that some people thought that there was something wrong with the game and never even saw it. There are also long load screens during gameplay. Every time you move to or from different areas of the game, you'll get the load screen.
I could usually deal with this with no problem. After all this is a beautiful game, but there is no journal, and I have to keep wandering around to try and jog my memory of where I need to do things. I love the wandering/adventure-esque portions of these games, usually, but with the delays during loading... It's gotten to where I just don't care enough to continue.
Two things would have made this a stellar game: First, a brightness control. The scenes are quite dark, and my screen simply can't be adjusted any brighter than it already is. Second is the loading screens, for the reasons mentioned above.
I think this is a very good game, and if you can get beyond the issues I've mentioned above, you might really enjoy it
AFTER UPDATE:
When I wrote the above, I did not know that there had been a developer update for the game. After deleting and redownloading the game, I found the following:
There is still a long load time when you initially start the game - longer than before - but there is no longer the constant load screens whilst trying to move about the castle. The scenes have also been lightened, which was my other complaint, so I'm very happy, and enjoying the game much more. Thank you, devs!

Good first game
This is the first HOPA from Fanda and it's a worthy debut. The artwork is clear and sharp, the story is coherent, there is a good balance of H0S and puzzles, and it's a decent length. I'm a fast player and I finished in about 3.5 hours. The H0S had an interesting help feature: silhouettes of multiple items after you find the first one (5 feather, 3 masks, etc). Some of the puzzles were quite innovative; I especially enjoyed the theater where you placed the props and got to see a scene from a play.
There are some improvements to be made though. The game is very dark. Even at the brightest setting on my computer and the lights turned on, I was still squinting to see things. The active zones can be extremely picky on where you need to place the item in order to be able to use it. (Tip: move the cursor slowly enough and the item will slip into place for you.) This is a single mode only, so advanced players may find it a little too helpful; lack of a journal does add a little bit of challenge unless you have a stellar memory (or pen/paper handy). Load times between scenes weren't too long for me, but were for others.
Technical issues aside, this is a wonderful game. The developer has promised to fix all these issues in future games, and I for one look forward to their next release.

OK, but...
As far as game graphics went the game was good and the story line was easy to follow during the trial. There were definitely some things that made the whole experience poor. The first issue was very slow loading. while the graphics are good you start to wonder if the game is running while still loading. The second was that I was unable to find a journal or book that keeps track of important information you find through the game. The upside to that is that if you love to play the HO games on insane then that is a feature you may like.

Great IHOG!
After a rough start I completed this game and enjoyed it a lot!
The story line was good, although not a new one. The graphics on my ASUS laptop were nice. The music?? Nothing to get excited about.
Although the controls seem dated and when you change screens it takes about 5 seconds to load each new screen, it was fun. The developers could have added a notebook as hints are found that are needed and if you don't have a great memory you have to go back and find the hint. Maybe could have used a map too for those of us with a bad sense of direction. There was a good mix of mini games and hidden object scenes.

Forgiveness.....
As the stone read in the entrance to one of the scenes, I am practicing forgiveness (and feeling much regret), for having spent good money on this game. Actually it had potential but it was lost in awful, slow, expansive lags that just never seemed to want to come together.
On the plus side, the graphics were outstanding and there were some amazingly interesting and appealing scenes; however, most scenes were not only so far and few between, some were grayed out and dreadfully dreary and for another, the artwork was lost in a horrible gameplay.
There was a frustrating wait time (even on my brand new gaming computer) between rooms (ie, 10%, 20%, etc...yep, screens between scenes were actually numbered.. percentage-wise) and there was a similarly annoying lag time between anything actually even happening within the game. There was much too much wandering around in vacant-like areas, and I typically don't mind that at all, being an avid adventure gamer. But usually, there is a greater reward to the wandering (ie. venturing!# and waiting which this game lacked.
Plot-wise, I never felt a desire to even want to assist to help find the wives because there was no real detailed pull in the story presented to create a bond between the player and the character/s.
The music was so dull and drab, it was literally depressing and I had to turn it OFF.... first time ever for me in a game and while on the topic of turning things on/off, an annoying screen came up whereby you had to actually pull a little chain AFTER arriving at the options screen #more delays#. On the plus side, I enjoyed the SFX sound used when finding a hidden object item, it had a rewarding twist to it.
What a shame the game didn't pull together, some of the puzzles were unique and the artist obviously had the talent to create a beautiful game. Instead, much was wasted on the macabre and unappealing portrayals of gruesomely drab gardens and dismembered animals #at least in one part). Obviously some creepiness is necessary in a "scary" game, yet overkill is just that. Examples of the good ie,. the owl depiction, pond, and many other portrayals that come to mind were almost art-nouveau art deco-ish and were absolutely beautiful and yet held the scary, suspenseful atmosphere necessary for a game such as this. Too bad it all had to be wasted in a blah game with little intrigue.
There was a hint at the end there may be a sequel... someone will have to take this back to the devs for a serious overhaul if they want my $ though.
