Disappointing I only did the trial but that was enough to know this was a no buy. The game is too dark - making it hard to see details & locate objects. Game is very slow to load when you start as well as when moving between scenes. I also don't like the lack of a diary / notebook to record clues. I'm used to games doing this automatically & it was a pain to have to backtrack through the game to find the clues to help solve some of the puzzles. November 21, 2011
Really enjoyed this game - Will replay in the future Game kept me interested from start to finish. For me, that's a mark of a good game. Gorgeous graphics. Did not mind not having a map and having to 'walk' a lot since I enjoyed looking at the details in each scene. Game play was about three hours. Loading time between scenes was very quick for me, but I do have a fast system. Loved certain aspects of the game. Things that I have not seen in any other game or were done with such a twist to make them novel. Minor negatives: * Would have appreciated a journal. But, in actuality, I did only write down a few things. * Sometimes, clicking or placing an item did not take the first time (or the hot spot was not large enough). So mechanics felt a bit awkward. Bottom line: Highly recommend this game. November 20, 2011
Different and interesting I really appreciated that this game was a little different from others. I wondered about it at first as there didn't seem sometimes to be clues as to what to do, but in fact that made it better, and there are clues if you look. Visually it was interesting (that apple tree!) and I didn't have to turn off the music on the grounds it irritated me, as I do in some games. I'm only not giving it excellent because it places I felt the graphics were a bit too dark. As someone else has commented, somethings in the HO scenes you'd find the thing you were looking for looked like something else, but I think that's a minor thing. I enjoyed all the puzzles and they were hard enough but not so hard you wanted to skip them. It's a very atmospheric game and I wanted to keep playing. In fact I first of all tried the demo and then just had to buy it. November 20, 2011
Good game but too short! The graphics on this game are very good. It could have been a five star if there was more game play- it ended much too quickly and had limited rooms. A strategy guide would have been nice too. One annoying thing was the amount of time it took to move from one scene to the next- seems that bug could have been worked out. Good game. very nice game I found it annoying at first because of the time it took to download between scenes but as I moved deeper into the game it caught my interest in such a way that I could endure it. Really a wonderful game with beautiful graphics which I enjoyed thoroughly. I just hope the sequel will be in fullscreen. Definitely a keep for me! November 20, 2011
Fun Hidden Object Game Loved this game other than the slow loading between scenes. The graphics were excellent and the storyline was intriguing, music and sound were ok. Quality was better than average and held my interest from beginning to end. It was not hard to find where you wanted to go and if you forgot to pick up an item it was no problem to go back and do so. Fun Puzzle Adventure/Hidden Object game I thoroughly enjoyed this game, not too many HO scenes with some good puzzles. Graphics were clear and crisp. One glitch in the library that was solveable by using the walkthrough, then did not have to use the walkthrough again. Well worth the price, I found this game a lot more enjoyable than some CE's. Would definitely recommend it. November 19, 2011
Look out for these devs! This plays like a CE but is an SE. The graphics are quite beautiful and the story (which almost never appeals to me) is rather good. Some of the hos are slightly "junk pile" but the story is predominately adventure. One must write down clues, like an older form of these games, but then Ii am not much of a "journal" sort. I wish that had been stated at the beginning though. A bit slow on loading between screens, but yet reminds me of the games that captured my heart as in 7th guest, etc. The hints are only so-so-repetitive at times "explore the castle and the grounds (sic)" This game speaks to many of us who fell in love with the adventure genre when we were combing stores to pay way too much to find an adventure game worth having (Sanitarium etc etc) and were the only "old" people who were not interested in a shooter. Per my title, I look forward to other games from this new group. Kudos! November 18, 2011
Would make a great Daily Deal...... The demo was great! It was a little clunky in game play but not so bad so I purchased it with a coupon. Once I actually had the full version, I became really annoyed by it. The game play is really clunky, the cut scenes are long, sometimes you just have a black screen with music. Some of the hidden object scenes are a bit challenging with regards to being able to see the items, even with the silhouette assist. Mostly, the clunky game play made this game not very fun to play. The ending was disappointing and abrupt. Just a so-so game. November 18, 2011
Exquisite Detail I will definitely buy this game. The mini games and hidden object scenes were well thought out and detailed and artwork is exquisite. The minigames were pretty easy to figure out, but they took a lot of thought. They didn't follow the standard type of mini game that you see in almost every game. It makes this game so different from the standard HOG. I love all of the detail and especially the background critters, the bugs and mice and moths, etc. They added a nice touch of movement. The fish in the fountain hidden object search was sweet, who would have thought to add that touch, It was brilliant! This game has so much depth and detail. The game is logical and takes a lot of thought about what to do next. The only drawback for me was the pause in shifting to the next scene. It didn't take a lot of time, but it was annoying, especially when you go back and forth between areas. I hope this game will set the standard for future hidden object games. November 18, 2011
